    Body of White woman bound with wire - Police have video of black suspect
Anthony Darrell HeathAngela Serfass-SteigerwaltThe body of 35-year old Angela Serfass-Steigerwalt, of Tamaqua, may have been bound before being set ablaze in Jim Thorpe on Saturday. According to court papers, Pennsylvania State Police reported seeing “the victim’s body, with what appeared to be a metal wires around the neck and also there were additional metal wires located underneath a wooden pole where what appeared to be legs would have been bound.” In addition, the report added that a Wal-Mart bag and receipt were found in the area. As per court papers, items listed on the receipt were “plastic tote, lighter fluid, and a lighter.” Police investigators went to a Wal-Mart near Allentown and viewed surveillance footage of a black male making purchases on the video. State Troopers believe Anthony Darrell Heath is the man seen at that Wal-Mart. - (Black-on-white)
   

    (White) 17 Year Old Dead After Shooting in Ozark by black(s)
Quashawn Marquise KnightChristian Alexander MarkoffOzark Police arrived on the scene of a shooting in Ozark near the intersection of Young Avenue and Yancey Street around 10:00 p.m Upon arrival, law enforcement and rescue crews found 17 year old Christian Alexander Markoff on the road on Yancey Street. The victim was transported by Ozark Ambulance Service to the Dale Medical Center where he later died as a result of his injuries. Around 8:00 a.m., the Ozark Police Department's Special Operation Group executed a search warrant and took two suspects into custody. They were brought to headquarters. After questioning and a consultation with the District Attorney, 18 year old Quashawn Marquise Knight and a 15 year old juvenile were charged with murder. Knight was placed in the Dale County Jail without bond. - (Black-on-white)
   

    Black Kingston Department of Environmental Protection employee charged with killing White co-worker

ThomasA 33-year-old Olivebridge man was fatally shot Monday morning at the New York City Department of Environmental Protection office on Smith Avenue in Midtown Kingston, and a co-worker was charged with murder, according to the Kingston Police Department and Ulster County District Attorney’s Office. Police said David N. Reese, 53, of Gilboa, Schoharie County, was taken into custody at the DEP building after shortly after Aron J. Thomas was shot and that Reese was charged with second-degree murder. He pleaded “not guilty” during a brief arraignment Monday afternoon in Kingston City Court and was sent to the Ulster County Jail. - (Black-on-white)

James Francis Edwards Jr. agreed to testify against his co-defendants during a preliminary hearing on Tuesday. In exchange for his testimony continuing through trial, prosecutors said they will drop a murder charge and he would only face an accessory charge. He told an Oklahoma judge Tuesday that Chancey Luna, 16, shot and killed Christopher Lane, of Melbourne, from a car driven by Michael Dewayne Jones, 18. Edwards, 16, said he was rolling marijuana cigarettes in the front passenger seat when Luna shot at Lane from the back seat. The teens later drove to a restaurant, where Luna and Jones exchanged words. - (Black-on-white)
   

    Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office searching for suspect in Army Sergeant murder in Marrero
Darwin Bethune Joseph AndersonMARRERO, La. -- The Sheriff's Office is looking for 24-year-old Darwin Bethune in connection with the death of Joseph Anderson. Anderson, a United States Army Sergeant, was shot and killed on January 1, in the 6100 block of Ray Street in Marrero, after dropping off his three children at his in-laws. Sheriff Newell Normand says that a Second Degree Murder warrant has been issued for the arrest of Bethune. Numerous attempts to locate Bethune have been unsuccessful.     SAN ANTONIO — A man who was attacked after leaving a bar on the Northwest Side early Friday might have been a victim of the knockout game. Cody Robinson, 30, said he had just arrived at his car after leaving the España Bar de Tapas, at 5638 W. Hausman Road, around 2 a.m. when an unidentified man punched him in the face and shouted “knockout.” Robinson's attack didn't stop after the punch. He said at least four men surrounded and repeatedly stomped on him.

    Suffolk police search for man accused of rape
Curtis JonesVa. – Suffolk police are now searching for a man who they say was involved in a rape that occurred back in January. They are looking for 54-year-old Curtis Jones of the 200 block of Pine Street. He’s wanted on charges of rape, aggravated sexual battery and abduction with the intent to defile. Police say the victim knows Jones and the incidents happened between Jan. 20th and Jan. 24th.

    Wanted accused New York rapist captured in Charlotte
Eric Tyrone MorrisCHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Led by U.S. Marshals, a team of law enforcement agencies apprehended a man wanted on several rape charges out of New York in Charlotte on Tuesday night. The U.S. Marshals Service says an investigation led them to find Eric Tyrone Morris living in an apartment in the 600 block of West Boulevard and working at a local restaurant. Morris is wanted out of Suffolk County, New York, on warrants for rape in the first degree, two counts of rape in the second degree, sexual abuse in the first degree with personal injury, rape in the first degree with personal injury, sexual conduct against a child in the first degree and endangering the welfare of a child with personal injury.

    Man, 23, charged with 2nd degree rape in Tuscaloosa
Marcus Steven McCorkleAL - Tuscaloosa police have charged a 23-year-old man with rape and sodomy after he was allegedly found in a room with a 13-year-old girl. Police responded to a distur home on Juanita Drive around 12:30 a.m. Jan. 25 on a report of a disturbance. The homeowner detained Marcus Steven McCorkle after he found him inside the home with a 13-year-old girl who lived in the residence. McCorkle was released at the time, but investigators later obtained warrants against him. McCorkle is charged with second degree rape and second degree sodomy. He was arrested on Feb. 3 after a brief foot chase near Eddins Road.

    Upland man convicted of rape, robbery seeks reduced sentence
Tyler Khalid McCray A 20-year-old Upland man who was sentenced to 14-28 years in a state correctional facility in October for a 2012 rape and robbery is asking for a reconsideration. Tyler Khalid McCray entered open guilty pleas in May 2013 to felony charges of rape, indecent deviate sexual intercourse, robbery, burglary and sexual assault, as well as misdemeanor charges of possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault, theft by unlawful taking and unlawful restraint. According to an affidavit of probable cause, McCray and another unidentified man broke into a Third Street home through a first-floor rear window on the night of Nov. 16, 2012. McCray proceeded upstairs, where he raped the victim in her bedroom while holding a large knife to her throat, and threatened to kill her and her three children. One of those children was awake during the assault.

    Wanted Vallejo rape suspect arrested
Devin Dwayne HawkinsA Solano County Sheriff special team has arrested a wanted Vallejo rape suspect, deputies said Tuesday. Devin Dwayne Hawkins, 20, a Vallejo transient, was arrested Monday by the Sheriff's Enforcement Team, or SET, and booked into the county jail at about 6:10 p.m., Deputy Daryl Snedeker said. Hawkins is a suspect in a rape case involving a 19-year-old woman in the unit block of Beverly Drive in May. The victim was forced into a vacant house and sexually assaulted, Vallejo police said.

Colton Hall GUNTERSVILLE, AL - A Marshall County man is on trial for the rape and sodomy of two girls. Jury selection began Tuesday for Colton Hall of Guntersville. Police arrested hall in January 2011 and is accused of raping an 11 and 15 year old while out on bond for allegedly stabbing a man.

The estate of Martin Luther King Jr. is asking a judge to force the civil rights icon's daughter to relinquish her father's Nobel Peace Prize and 'traveling' Bible. The complaint against Bernice King was filed Friday in an Atlanta court by her father's estate, which is controlled by her brothers, Martin Luther King III and Dexter King. The lawsuit says Martin Luther King Jr.'s heirs in 1995 assigned their rights to property inherited from the civil rights icon to the Estate of Martin Luther King Jr. Inc.

Maureen Maloney is very passionate when it comes to illegal immigrant issues after the death of her son, and her voice has the potential to become a powerful one in this debate. She is a mom and an accidental activist. "There's a part of me that doesn't want my son to be the poster child for illegal immigrant issues." Maloney lost her son Matthew Denice 2-years ago when illegal Ecuadorian immigrant Nicolas Dutan Guaman allegedly hit and killed the 23-year-old with his truck, dragging Denice's body down a Milford street. Guaman has been charged with Denice's death.

   

   

Juan Restrepo-Duque Slashes Throat of Older Man on Valentine's Day
Juan Restrepo-DuqueA man will likley spend the rest of his life in prison for the Valentine’s Day killing of a man who allegedly made a sexual advance towards him. A Kent County, Del. jury convicted Juan Restrepo-Duque of first-degree murder in the 2010 slaying of a 61-year-old man Smyrna man. The Newark man was found guilty Tuesday in the death of Kenton Wolf. He faces life in prison without parole when he is sentenced March 27. The state opted not to seek the death penalty in the case, even though a judge last year denied a defense request to prohibit prosecutors from doing so.

   

   

(Illegal migrant) Rigoberto Piedra accused of assault, rape in front of children
A Tulsa man who is accused of assaulting and raping a woman in front of children was arrested Monday night. Rigoberto Piedra, 33, was taken into custody in the 1100 block of South Utica Avenue. Piedra is also on a hold for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, jail records show.


   

Pablo Reyes Bautista charged with 2012 rape in Rowland Heights
The charges stem from the Oct. 27, 2012 rape of a 29-year-old woman in an apartment in the 1500 block of Jellick Avenue. Sheriff’s detectives said the woman was awakened around 6 a.m. by a Hispanic man who beat and raped her. DNA helped solve the case.

    Former American Boychoir School dean arrested in alleged homosexual assault of New Jersey boy
Thomas CurranAuthorities have charged the former dean of students at The American Boychoir School in New Jersey with sexually assaulting a boy. U.S. Marshals arrested 55-year-old Thomas Curran in Woodstock, Ga., where he waived extradition. Curran is held in New Jersey on $250,000 bail, charged with sexual assault and child endangerment. He's scheduled to appear in court on Friday. Authorities say Curran had inappropriate sexual contact with the 11-year-old boy between April and June while Curran acted as an after-school caregiver in the boy's West Windsor home.

 


    Police arrest two black teenagers in Ellwood Avenue homicide of White woman
Allen PinkneyAlonzo Gorham-RamosKimberly Leto Baltimore City police have arrested two teenagers in connection with the killing of a woman in her Patterson Park home, while neighbors say they're shocked and saddened at the loss of such a good person. Baltimore police on Sunday arrested Allen Pinkney, 16, and Alonzo Gorham-Ramos, 14, on murder, first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, first-degree burglary and dangerous weapon with intent to injure charges. Around 7:30 a.m. Friday, officers found 51-year-old Kimberly Leto dead inside her home in the 400 block of South Ellwood Avenue. Police said Leto suffered from trauma to her body. The manner of Leto's death is still pending from the State's Medical Examiner. According to court documents, she was stabbed multiple times after confronting burglars in her home. - (Black-on-white)
   

    Police make 2nd arrest of black in brutal beating of elderly White man, expect to make a 3rd
Deangelo SmithRobert Campbell86-year-old Carrol JordanThe Chickasaw Police Department says there is a third male suspect wanted in connection with the brutal beating of 86-year-old Carrol Jordan. CPD says they have information on the man and will soon be serving warrants for his arrest. Jordan was viciously beaten and stabbed on January 27 at his residence and was found lying in a pool of his own blood. On Monday, February 3, Deangelo Smith, 19, was arrested and charged with first degree burglary and assault for his role in the alleged Jordan beating. CPD says Smith was picked up by the U.S. Marshals task force around 8 p.m. Monday night at the R.V. Taylor Plaza in Mobile. His alleged accomplice, 18-year Robert Campbell was arrested earlier Monday and faces the same charges. CPD says the knife used in Jordan’s stabbing was also recovered Monday in Prichard. - (Black-on-white)
   

    Black man convicted of murdering White laundry worker in Cleveland appeals death sentence
Jeremiah Jackson Tracy PickrylCOLUMBUS, Ohio -- Jeremiah Jackson was sentenced to death for his role in a three-county crime spree in June 2009 that included killing a laundromat worker on Cleveland’s West Side. Tuesday his lawyers will asks the Ohio Supreme Court to overturn his conviction. Jackson was sentenced to die for killing Tracy Pickryl, who was working the overnight shift at a 24-hour laundry on West 25th Street in Cleveland. In June 2009, Jackson burst into the laundry with a gun. He took $50 and Pickryl’s necklace. When he tried to grab her bracelet, police said, she jerked back and he shot her in the head. The 38-year-old Cleveland woman died at the laundry, where she had worked about a year. Jackson later acknowledge he’d shot Pickryl, apologizing at his sentencing to her family for what he described as a “cold-blooded accident.” - (Black-on-white)

Arsenio Lee Jumping Bull is charged with burglary and arson from a Sunday afternoon incident where, police said, he was in the middle of a pyschotic episode. Authorities said he was visiting a family at the Highland Apartments, 4725 W. Powell, around 1 p.m. He was experiencing a psychotic episode at that time, then broke into a nearby home and allegedly set it on fire.     Black man pleads guilty to killing his white newlywed bride in Twiggs County

Marcus Donnell Hoskins, 46, admitted taking Danielle Kelly Thompson to the Longleaf Trail near Bond Swamp and fatally shooting her Jan. 30, 2013. In exchange for pleading guilty to malice murder, a theft charge and two firearms charges were dismissed, said Peter Fred Larsen, a prosecutor in the Dublin Judicial Circuit. Monday morning, Judge H. Gibbs Flanders Jr. sentenced Hoskins to life in prison, but he will be eligible for parole after 30 years, Thompson’s children and siblings met with attorneys and the judge before the plea agreement was accepted, said Sandy Williams, the sister of the victim. “I really don’t think 30 years is long enough, but sometimes you have to do things you don’t want to do to make sure someone stays behind bars and doesn’t hurt anyone else,” Williams said. “You can never tell with a jury.” - (Black-on-white)

Orowo Jesse Omokoh Jette JacobsNIGERIAN police have arrested a 28-year-old man wanted in connection with the death of an Australian woman and for defrauding her of $90,000 in an online dating scam. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) told AFP that Orowo Jesse Omokoh was arrested on January 28 in Nigeria, without stating where exactly. The graduate, who attended the University of Ibadan, in the southwest of the country, will be brought before court for extradition proceedings, a spokesman said. Omokoh is alleged to have struck up a fake online romance with Jette Jacobs, but five days after he moved to Johannesburg, South Africa, to meet her in February last year, she was found dead. Some of her valuables were missing and Omokoh had returned to Nigeria. "The South African police, which is investigating the mysterious death, are suspicious that Omokoh has a hand in the demise of Jacobs," the EFCC said. The organisation, which investigates money-laundering and online scams, said Australian Federal Police informed officers in March that Omokoh had allegedly defrauded Jacobs of $90,000. Jacobs, a grandmother from Western Australia, reportedly sent tens of thousands of dollars to Nigeria during her four-year "romance" with a man known as "Jesse", according to Australian media. - (Black-on-white)

    London: Sex Worker Murder Suspect Caught On CCTV
Robert Richard Fraser Maria Duque-TunjanoDetectives have released CCTV footage of a man suspected of murdering a sex worker in Earls Court. A manhunt was launched to find Robert Richard Fraser after the body of Maria Duque-Tunjano was found on Friday. The footage of Fraser, also known as Robert Aleem and Shia Robert Jackson, was recorded in central London on Sunday. Police believe the suspect could still be in the central or northwest London area. The investigation was launched after police were called to a flat in Earls Court Square on Friday lunchtime. The body of Miss Duque-Tunjano had been there for several days and a post-mortem examination found her death came after a blunt blow to her head. Miss Duque-Tunjano, 48, was a British national originally from Colombia. - (UK)

Oscar BridgesRobert BrewerHOLLYWOOD HILLS — A tip Tuesday led the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to launch a large-scale search for a 54-year-old murder suspect in the Hollywood Hills. Oscar Bridges is wanted in the Jan. 23 fatal stabbing of Robert Brewer, 21, of Texas, in a motel room in the 10400 Block of South Vermont Avenue. “Brewer suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene,” officials said. Bridges, who also goes by the name “Rick,” is described as a black man with black dreadlocks and brown eyes. He’s approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and 180 pounds. “We’ve gained information that this suspect likes to befriend young boys, ages 16 to 25 years old, so we’re looking for anyone with any information or may have had contact with this suspect,” Francisco said. - (Black-on-white)

    Woman reports rape in Johnson County
Ralph Tyrone DavisFRANKLIN, Ind. — One man was arrested after a woman ran to a Johnson County home over the weekend to report a rape. The woman went to a home in the 4000 block of Greensburg Road, south of Franklin, around 4 a.m. Sunday to report the rape, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office officials said. The incident began after the woman met the man at a bar. She said she would give him a ride and after she took him to two spots where his friends weren’t located, he said to take him to a home on Greensburg Road. The woman said that’s when there was a struggle, and she was eventually able to get away. Franklin Police tracked the man down at the Comfort Inn in Franklin. After an interview at the Johnson County Jail, 30-year-old Ralph Tyrone Davis, 30, was arrested on preliminary charges of sexual deviate conduct/confinement, battery and theft.

    Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Woman On Red Line Platform
Barry A. MarquezCHICAGO — A north suburban man charged with sexually assaulting a woman on a North Side Red Line platform Sunday is suspected of other similar attacks, police said. Barry A. Marquez, 28, of Evanston has been charged with one felony count of sexual criminal abuse, according to Chicago Police. Marquez was arrested Sunday after he sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman at 5:15 p.m. on the North/Clybourn station at 1599 N. Clybourn Ave., police said. Police said Marquez may be responsible for other similar incidents, but would not give specific details. Anyone with information should contact Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.

    Austin Police Say Black Cab Driver (with African name) Sexually Assaulted 17 year-old
Nelson EgwuA 17-year-old forced to perform oral sex. According to the Austin Police Department the teen says it was 51-year-old Nelson Egwuwho took advantage of her when she called for a taxi to take her to a friend's house. "He started asking her for sexual favors," explained Senior Police Officer Veneza Bremner. The victim told police it happened when she could not pay her fare and because of what Ewe told her earlier during the cab ride she was afraid he might hurt her. "The driver stated that he had a concealed handgun license and that he had a gun in his vehicle," Bremner continued. The victim told police says she felt she had no choice but to perform oral sex as he requested.

    Bragging leads to arrest of three Clawson High School teens in Oakland County sexual assault case
Travion Watkins, 17, Kheimoni Slaton, 17, and Terry WattsThree teen suspects are set to appear before a judge Tuesday on charges they sexually assaulted a fellow high school student. Police found out about the attack once the boys started bragging about the crime at school. The bragging took place at Clawson High School and police say the three students captured the attacks on cell phone and started sharing the video with other students. The assault happened in the 300 block of Kinross. Officers say a 15-year-old girl went there with three male students ages 17 and 18 after school on October 9, 2013. Police say the four engaged in many sexual acts, including intercourse and one of the young men captured it on cell phone video. Less than a week later, the video was being shown inside Clawson High where students that viewed the video reported it to the principals office. Moments later, police arrived and arrested the three, but say one of the young men deleted the video. However, the incriminating evidence was retrieved. Travion Watkins, 17, Kheimoni Slaton, 17, and Terry Watts, 18, each appeared before a judge and were charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 3rd degree, a 15 year felony.

    The suspect is describes as a 5'11" to 6' tall black man in his 40s. Police say he has a dark complexion, bald head, thick chest and slight facial hair. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatsuit and dark blue jeans. The vehicle was described as a dark blue or green sedan. Anyone with information should call police at 202-727-9099.

    DA believes race played factor in Josh Brent probationary sentence
 Josh Brent Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins believes the probationary sentence given to former Dallas Cowboy Josh Brent for intoxication manslaughter was affected by a recent Tarrant County case in which a white 16-year-old was sentenced to probation by a judge for killing four people while driving drunk. The defendant in that case, Ethan Crouch, told a judge he suffered from “affluenza” because he grew up wealthy and suffered no consequences for his actions. Watkins told a radio station that the Brent jurors — five blacks, four whites and three Hispanics — “factored that into the equation” in reaching their decision in January. Brent, who is black, grew up poor and played football at the University of Illinois before becoming a defensive lineman for the Cowboys. He retired last summer.
   

    2nd Man Convicted for Setting Cat on Fire
Tyrique HallCampbellA second man was convicted for animal cruelty and other related offenses after he set a cat on fire in Philadelphia. Jose Sanchez, 18, was sentenced on Monday to two years of probation, banned from owning animals for two years and ordered to pay $2,400 restitution. Sanchez and 21-year-old Tyrique Hall (pictured at left) set a cat on fire back on November 10 in the Olney section of the city. A woman told officials she spotted the cat on fire running down 3rd Street towards Wellens Avenue around 9:25 a.m. The woman also claimed she spotted Hall and Sanchez at the intersection and heard one of the men say, “I put a lot of fluid on it.” The cat, named Campbell, was found at Wellens Avenue. He suffered from severe burns on 60 to 75 percent of his body and underwent two surgeries. After recovering at Penn Vet's Hospital in University City, Campbell was adopted by Philadelphia firefighter Stephen Paslawski.

Jose VelezLEBANON, Ohio -- An inmate of the Lebanon Correctional Institution was indicted Monday for two counts of felonious assault and two counts of rape. Jose Velez, who is HIV positive, allegedly forced two different cellmates to engage in sexual conduct in September, 2013, according to the Grand Jury report from the Warren County Clerk of Courts. The indictment said Velez knew of his disease while the rapes apparently happened. His sentence is 20 years to life for a previous rape and kidnapping in Lorraine County, Ohio. Worcester Police Officer Rajat Sharda Charged With Rape
Rajat ShardaWORCESTER – A Worcester police officer has been arrested on a rape charge. Officer Rajat Sharda, 32, of Hudson, was taken into custody Monday evening and arraigned Tuesday at Worcester District Court on charges of aggravated rape, open and gross lewdness and lascivious behavior, armed robbery, intimidation of a witness and threats with the intent to extort by police. Worcester Police released very little information about the alleged incident, saying in a statement that Sharda’s arrest “is the result of an investigation into a complaint that was made to the Worcester Police Department regarding an incident that occurred at the Bancroft Tower between an adult female and Mr. Sharda.” Sharda is now on paid administrative leave until the investigation is finished.




 


    Man convicted in fatal stabbing on Laclede's Landing to be sentenced
Darael FentressKyle J. Roberts A man who pleaded guilty to a fatal stabbing on Laclede’s Landing in March, 2013 will be sentenced Friday. Darael Fentress, 29, in December pleaded guilty to first-degree involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action in the death of 28-year-old Kyle Roberts. He's scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Julian Bush at 1:30 p.m. Roberts was stabbed to death by Fentress during a dispute outside a bar in the 100 block of Laclede’s Landing Blvd. on March 10, 2013. Authorities say Fentress fled the scene before officers arrived. An investigation eventually led them to Fentress, who was arrested and taken into custody. - (Black-on-white)
   

    Venlo Shooter Arrested on Ferris Campus, Suspect Identified
DeCory Demarco DowningFerris State University students can breathe a sigh of relief now that the Venlo shooting suspect has been apprehended. According to Ferris Director of Public Safety, the suspect has been identified as 20-year-old DeCory Demarco Downing. Downing is a non-Ferris student and is believed to be from the Mt. Clemens/Macomb area, according to the Ferris Director of Public Safety who addressed the media in a press conference Sunday, Feb. 2. Downing is charged with attempted murder which has a possible sentence of life in prison if convicted. He was also charged with use of a firearm, which is a felony with a mandatory two-year sentence.
   

    Convicted rapist charged in two 1986 Marietta rapes
Antonio BrooksA convicted rapist serving time in state prison for a 1988 Marietta rape has been charged with two other rapes that occurred two years earlier in Marietta, police said. According to Marietta police, detectives reviewing old case files found two open cases from 1986 where DNA evidence was collected. “A review of the two open rape cases revealed that not only did the DNA match that of Antonio Brooks, but the methodology used in the 1988 rape conviction matched that of the two open cases as well,” Baldwin said. Brooks, 44, has been charged with rape, aggravated assault and burglary in one of the 1986 cases and rape and burglary in the second case.

    Man convicted of rape and attempted murder gets life in prison
Willie Griffin Jr. SAN MARCOS, Texas — A man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a teenaged girl in 2012 was found guilty on all counts Monday in San Marcos and sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday. Willie Griffin Jr. was found guilty on three counts of sexual assault in addition to aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault and attempted murder. After Griffin received his life sentence, the victim addressed him. “You’re a sick monster for what you did to me,” she said, crying, “I didn’t deserve that. I want you to look at me. I want you to look at me, and see that what you did hurt me. You put scars on my chest.” Police say Griffin picked the 17-year-old girl up from an East Austin bus stop in March 2012 before driving her to a remote area in Hays County and raping her. The girl told investigators Griffin then strangled her, and when she regained consciousness, he stabbed her multiple times in the chest. The girl survived and was able to flag down a car for help and ultimately helped police identify Griffin. He’s also charged in Travis County with murder in the 2011 death of 24-year-old Elizabeth Escobar.

The incident happened at the Ashley Oaks Apartment complex located at 8600 Ashley Way. Officials say the woman was attempting to run over her ex-boyfriends new girlfriend when she hit Alexandria Wells, killing her.

Donald K. Carr JrA state court has denied an appeal by a robber who was caught hiding in a pumpkin patch after an armed holdup of a Carlisle store. Donald K. Carr Jr., 22, claimed there wasn't enough evidence to convict him of the June 2012 robbery of Deli Creations and that the 4 1/2 to 10-year state prison term he received for the crime was too severe. The state Superior Court shot him down on both counts in a recent ruling.

Gerardo Cruz-Hernandez NORRISTOWN, Pa. - -- Authorities are searching for a child predator who's accused of sexually assaulting a Norristown teen dozens of times. Thirty one year old Gerardo Cruz-Hernandez is a fugitive, facing 70 counts of rape. Police say his victim is a 15-year-old Norristown girl who became pregnant during the abuse, and who he then forced to undergo an abortion. He is a Mexican national, and they believe he has already left Pennsylvania.


   
  • Illegal immigrant chase ends as driver hits light pole
    Three illegal immigrants led a pursuit that ended after the vehicle hit a light pole. A woman is in custody and two men are on the run after they were involved in a pursuit after police attempted to make a routine stop. The chase happened Friday at 7 p.m. in La Grulla. Police said that they attempted to make a routine stop on a 2000 Ford truck on North FM 2360. The vehicle then fled from the scene and lead police on a pursuit. The chase continued as the truck turned on West Military Road, but came to an end as the vehicle slammed into a light pole. The two men fled the scene on foot into Mexico while the woman remained in the truck with an injury. The woman was taken to Starr County Memorial Center for evaluation.

Devon Derrick Parker Thomas SonnenbergA 69-year-old Minnesota man has been shot dead after opening his door to a man who claimed he was being chased. Thomas Sonnenberg called 911 at 11:46am Friday for 20-year-old Devon Derrick Parker who police say told him he was being pursued by assailants with baseball bats. When police arrived at the home on the 3700 block of North Aldrich Avenue in north Minneapolis, they found Sonnenberg dead. Parker was apprehended inside the house. Police spokesperson John Elder earlier indicated that Parker and Sonnenberg were acquaintances, but Sonnenberg's daughter Raina Baldwin says that was not the case. 'No. Absolutely not,' she told the Mail Online through tears. 'He thought he was helping someone in need, that's why he let him into the house,' she said. Baldwin said she believes Parker was attempting to rob the house but did not realize that her mother was also in the home. Sonnenberg answered the door to Parker begging to come in because he was in danger. He let the young man inside and closed the door before calling 911. It was then that Parker shot him in the head. Thomas Sonnenberg's wife Elaine Sonnenberg, 68, was in the kitchen at the time of the shooting. 'When the murderer found out she was here, he threw her around and choked her, and he was going to rape her,' Baldwin told Mail Online. - (Black-on-white)

Prosecutors argued Thomas Hampton Frederick had met Robert at a strip club in Clearwater, walked her home, had sex with her and then stabbed her. Defense attorneys said Frederick killed Robert in self defense. Frederick was sentenced to life in prison with no parole. Frederick Dicarlo, the medical examiner who performed the autopsy on Petra Rohrbaugh, 52, told a jury in New Brunswick that the woman’s hands were bound by cloth behind her, and a band of cloth was in her mouth, over her teeth and tied behind her neck. Dicarlo said there was evidence that Rohrbaugh had been beaten as well as being strangled before she was set on fire.Dicarlo was testifying in the fourth day of the trial of Robert Hayes, who is charged with murder, felony murder, aggravated sexual assault, burglary, arson, hindering his own apprehension, hindering the investigation into Rohrbaugh’s death and desecration of human remains for setting the bedroom on fire after attacking the victim. - (Black-on-white)

Danielle Vineyard  and Willie Hardy, JrCLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Police said a man was robbed Thursday night by a woman he met on the online dating website, Tagged. Officials with the Clarksville Police Department said the victim reported he agreed to meet Danielle Vineyard at an Econo Lodge in Clarksville. The victim arrived at the motel room and was ambushed by Vineyard's accomplice, Willie Hardy, Jr. They said Hardy closed the door and struck the victim with a handgun. The victim was robbed of his money, phone, and keys. Police said he was ordered to remove his clothes and go into the bathroom. After a considerable amount of time, the victim walked out of the bathroom and called police. Vineyard and Hardy, Jr. were later apprehended at Kelly's Big Burgers. Police said Hardy, Jr. resisted arrest from two officers during the incident but was later restrained.

Authorities said Clifton Wilkes allegedly kept the woman locked in his bedroom and is facing more than a dozen charges. The woman escaped Wednesday and ran to a neighbor’s house for help, but Wilkes reportedly chased her down and dragged her back to his house. That’s when authortities were alerted and arrested Wilkes.

Ameduri was playing with a band, and the band had taken a break outside when the botched robbery took place. Ameduri was struck by a single shot to the head. Police said Antoine Ward, 38, was charged with two counts of criminal homicide and two firearm violations. Ward, whose last known address was in Beltzhoover, is in the Allegheny County Jail awaiting arraignment. The bodies of Jason Eubanks and Cheralynn Sabatasso, both 36, were found Jan. 23 inside a vehicle in the 500 block of Grimes Avenue not long after a 911 call came in at 7:36 p.m. reporting six shots fired. Police said Sabatasso was in the driver's seat of her silver Lexus and Eubanks was in the front passenger seat in the 500 block of Grimes Avenue. An autopsy showed they had been shot in the head.

Prosecutors from the DNA Cold Case Task Force in the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office filed a motion to amend an indictment issued by the Grand Jury last April charging "John Doe #1" with the rapes of a 13-year-old girl in 1993 and of a 37-year-old woman in 1996. Both rapes were reported in the City of Cleveland.

He had a stab wound to his chest. The victim was transported to DCH where he died from his injuries.     Deputies: Man shot trying to rob Greenville restaurant, found at hospital
Calvin Benson chicken thiefGREENVILLE, SC - The search for a suspected restaurant robber out of Greenville County is over after a man showed up at Spartanburg Regional Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies said a man with a gun came into Wings On The Run along East North Street in Greenville Thursday night and tried to rob the place. That's when an employee at the restaurant pulled out his own gun and shot the suspect twice. They said the guy then ran away. They said about an hour later, they received a call from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office after the gunshot victim showed up at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center with two wounds. They identified the wounded man as 22-year-old Calvin Benson and as the person responsible for the attempted robbery.

2 US Citizens Flee To Israel After Being Accused Of $33M Bank Fraud

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — In 1991, Herbert Smulls called jeweler Stephen Honickman and set up an appointment to meet at his store in suburban St. Louis. He said he wanted to buy a diamond for his fiancee. It was a set up. Smulls wanted to rob the store and took along a 15-year-old friend to help commit what became a far worse crime: Honickman was shot to death. Honickman's wife, Florence, was also shot, but survived by faking death in a pool of her own blood until the assailants left. Late Wednesday night, Smulls was put to death with a lethal dose of pentobarbital. Florence Honickman spoke to the media after the execution, flanked by her adult son and daughter. She questioned why it took 22 years of appeals before Smulls was put to death. Those additional charges were filed Wednesday against the men initially arrested in connection with the stolen SUV used in the drive-by shooting that killed Payton Benson two weeks ago. The charges include first-degree murder against Vincent Hicks. Police say he fired the bullet that killed Benson. The 20-year-old Hicks was also booked for criminal conspiracy, use of a weapon to commit a felony and discharging a firearm at an occupied dwelling. Eighteen-year-old Jaylen Montgomery was booked for discharging a firearm at an occupied dwelling, use of a weapon to commit a felony and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. Twenty-one-year-old Jacob Brown was booked for discharging a firearm at an occupied dwelling and use of a firearm to commit a felony. Twenty-two-year-old Adonus Moses was booked for criminal conspiracy to commit murder, first degree. Kevin Peak and Shaun Murph Jr. are also in custody on gun charges connected to the shooting. Prosecutors say Murph had a stolen firearm in his possession.

The Greenville Police Department released little information about the shooting, and declined to name the victim. Officer Johnathan Bragg said officers responded to a gunshot victim at the Preserve at Woods Lake Apartments around 8:45 p.m. Saturday. An arrest warrant had been issued for Twane Dobard after the body of 58-year-old Domenico Perruccio was found early Sunday on a sidewalk in Hollywood, Florida. Police spokesman Lt. Osvaldo Perez said the victim had been stabbed during “some sort of scuffle” and that the death was ruled a homicide. Perruccio’s hometown was not immediately known. Witnesses said Manuel de Jesus Guinea, 55, from El Salvador, was driving at about 70 mph shortly before he allegedly slammed into the Thurbers. He allegedly 'smelled like a bar' as he attempted to blend in with the crowd until onlookers held him and waited for officers to arrive. He was booked on suspicion of automobile homicide and driving under the influence

Robert Juan EnriquezMelissaSACRAMENTO COUNTY— Detectives have made an arrest in the murder of a woman found burned beyond recognition last week. Robert Juan Enriquez, 38, was arrested Monday night on charges of domestic violence and murder, according to a release from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department. According to detectives, Enriquez had called authorities Sunday morning to report that his live-in girlfriend had not come home since Jan. 22. Deputies were intrigued by the physical similarities between Enriquez’ girlfriend and that of a person found burned near Snodgrass Slough on Jan. 23. Earlier, detectives released an image of the woman’s ring in hopes of identifying her, because her burn injuries were so disfiguring.

    A young woman, identified by a high school friend as Melissa, reportedly died at the hands of her live-in boyfriend Robert Enriquez, who is also the father of her baby boy. Sacramento Sheriff’s detectives arrested Enriquez Monday night for murder and domestic violence. “He used to threaten [Melissa] and the mom. I cannot believe that,” their visibly shaken mail carrier said, outside their south Sacramento home. Neighbors painted a picture of an abusive and violent man, and a woman who tried but couldn’t break free from him. “There were arguments constantly,” one neighbor said. “Sad she wasn’t able to get out.” Investigators believe Enriquez is responsible for the burned body was found near Snodgrass Slough last Thursday.

Joey Klett, 19, died from his wounds shortly after arriving at Bristol Hospital early Saturday morning. A crime scene was established, and police said the investigation led them to a suspect who was identified as Joshua Daniels. "Daniels was driving through North Carolina and was stopped by the local police department for a minor traffic violation," Watson said. Daniels, who was charged with murder, was expected to be held in North Carolina pending extradition back to Connecticut sometime next week. - (Black-on-white)

Christopher McCoy Rodgers, 41, was sentenced to 21 to 26 years in prison for the Sept. 8, 2012, death of Trooper Bobby "Gene" DeMuth Jr., who Rodgers hit with a car during a multi-county chase. The chase started in Raleigh after police tried to stop Rodgers in connection with a home invasion at his estranged girlfriend's house. She told officers that he locked her and her 21-month-old child in a bathroom and stole her ATM card. - (Black-on-white)
