Lawn's daughters - Tammy Pierson, April Northern and Holly Stevens, who both live in Texas - said they were "extremely happy" to hear jurors convict Boyd of second-degree murder. Boyd, she said, won't be on the streets or able to hurt anyone else. Boyd fatally beat and strangled Lawn, 54, inside her apartment and set furniture on fire in an effort to conceal the crime, according to Assistant District Attorney Brian Green. As first reported by WWJ Newsradio 950, an 11-year-old boy suffered a broken leg on Wednesday when he was hit by a pickup truck after walking into the street near Morang and Balfour. The driver, Steven Utash, immediately got out of his truck after hitting the boy and was viciously attacked by 10 to 12 men. The beating was so brutal, Utash was rendered unconscious. Utash’s son Joseph said that his father remains in a medically induced coma, nearly unrecognizable due to his injuries. He also said his wallet was stolen from his truck. Detroit Police Sgt. Michael Woody said Steven Utash was not at fault for the accident. “Our preliminary investigation shows the child stepped in front of his vehicle,” Woody said.     Neighbor Robbed, Killed Sisters: Police
Allen Darell WadeSusan WolfeSarah WolfeA city man may have to overcome extremely long odds -- 13.7 quintillion-to-1 -- when he stands trial on charges that he robbed and killed his next-door neighbors, two sisters of an Iowa state lawmaker. Those are the odds a pair of sweatpants could belong to any other black man except the suspect, 43-year-old Allen Darell Wade, based on DNA found on the waistband, according to lab test results presented by prosecutors at a preliminary hearing Friday. A city magistrate ruled Wade must stand trial based on the DNA evidence and nine surveillance videos Allegheny County prosecutors believe link Wade to the sweatpants, a vehicle and two bank cards belonging to victims Sarah and Susan Wolfe. Both women were shot once in the head but had also been badly beaten in the face and other parts of their bodies.

White ex-Navy SEAL talks of being shot by racist black man, his ‘hunt’ mode in seeking assailants
black racistChristopher Mark HebenGRANGER TWP.: Christopher Mark Heben said it felt like he had been kicked in the gut by a mule when he was shot in a Montrose parking lot, but his Navy SEAL training quickly kicked in. The Granger Township man is recovering from a gunshot wound to the stomach after he was shot Friday outside the Mustard Seed Market in Bath Township. “It was as if someone folded you in half,” Heben, 44, said Wednesday. He was released Tuesday from Akron General Medical Center. Heben, who served as a SEAL from 1996 to 2006 and had multiple overseas deployments including in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, said he went to Montrose around dinnertime to buy food for a birthday party when he got into a verbal fight with another motorist. The argument, he said, started after a car backed into him as he walked in the parking lot. He said he exchanged words with the car’s driver. “I said, ‘Dude, you almost [expletive] ran me over — you need to pay attention to what you are doing,’ ” Heben said he told the man. The driver, Heben said, countered that he was the one who needed to pay attention. After exchanging a few more words, Heben said, he started to walk to the store when he remembered that he left his wallet in his truck. A second confrontation ensued when Heben returned to his truck. The driver, who is black, Heben said, told him, “You got a big mouth white boy. You need to learn some [expletive] respect.” - (Black-on-white)

White Temple Student Assaulted In Broad Daylight Speaks Out
feral black attackersBreland MoorePHILADELPHIA — Three Temple University students were just minding their own business Wednesday when they were randomly attacked on Broad Street. Fortunately, one of the women was aware enough to realize trouble was headed her way, and she narrowly escaped a brutal attack. “He yelled at me that he was going to punch my face before he actually did it. So, thank God I kind of looked up and saw him coming,” Temple student Breland Moore said. Moore is a senior at Temple University, just 43 days away from graduation. She thought she’d made it all four years without incident, but that all changed at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. “So, I ducked and tried to run away as fast as I could,” Moore said. As rush hour traffic whizzed by, other students weren’t so lucky. The University says the man made his way south, down Broad Street and attacked two more women. The one girl was spit in the face. The other girl was knocked down and the suspect shoved her in the side of the building.

Jury hung in trial of former FedEx employee accused of rape, exposing HIV
Quantez PersonMEMPHIS, TN - - An accused serial rapist's first trial ended with a hung jury. The suspect was identified, in part, by the fuzzy dice hanging from his rear-view mirror, but some wonder if his alleged victims are really the ones on trial. Deborah Clubb of the Memphis Area Women's Council says rape victim stories are often doubted in court. "It's just a really difficult topic and a lot of people are predisposed not to believe that anything happened," said Clubb. "So they're really, really hard to prosecute successfully." She points to the mistrial Thursday in the aggravated rape case of former FedEx employee Quantez Person. It is the first of at least five trials for rape he is facing. "To imagine that he is suspected and identified by other victims, and he's not yet convicted is a terrifying thing," said Clubb.

Naked black in cowboy hat enters Georgia home
Ashdon GibbsCori Davenport Police say a man was arrested after breaking into a home while wearing nothing but a cowboy hat in Johns Creek, Ga., on Monday. "They're like, what was he wearing? And I'm like, absolutely nothing... a cowboy hat," homeowner Cori Davenport said about the call she made to 911. She knew something was wrong after she heard her daughter scream in their home. Davenport came downstairs and found Ashdon Gibbs in her kitchen — completely in the buff. "Our garage was up, he came in through the garage and she was in the kitchen. He just walked in," she said. Police say he tried to steal a motorcycle from their driveway before coming inside, and the Davenport's surveillance cameras caught the whole thing. But that was just the end of Gibbs' day. Police say his alleged crime spree started when he stole a car Monday morning. It gets weirder from there. "The subject had driven a stolen vehicle that he had stolen from Decatur, burglarized two homes within the Prestwick subdivision and at some point took off all of his clothes," Lt. Byers said. "In one of the houses that he broke in to, he did consume a beer while he made himself a meal and watched baseball on their TV," said Byers. - (Black-on-white)
