It was not until November 2013, a month after finding out that Adiyemi Prowell was removed from the public school Renaissance Leadership Academy for assaulting a classmate, that the girl, identified under the pseudonym “Abby” in the filing, told her parents she had been abused. Abby started crying and revealed that “Prowell had been inappropriately touching her starting when she was an 11-year-old sixth-grader,” the suit says. ‘Obvious flight risk’: Toddler's brutal beating prompts call to withhold bail from illegal immigrants
Francisco Javier Chavez, (l.), posted bail and has not been seen again after allegedly beating a toddler. Jose Enrique Vasquez, (r.), was accused of killing a child, but could be freed if he posts bail. When Francisco Javier Chavez posted bail on charges of beating a California toddler within an inch of her life in late July, there was little reason to expect the illegal immigrant, who has spent much of his adult life hopping back and forth across the Mexican border, would return to face justice. Two weeks later, at his scheduled arraignment on Aug. 13, Chavez was a no-show. The 27-year-old career criminal had put up $10,000, or 10 percent of the amount set for his alleged crimes by California's bail schedule. His disappearance is hardly a surprise to critics who believe violent illegal immigrants are, by definition, flight risks who should be denied bail in such serious cases. They say judges, especially in border states plagued by illegal immigrant crime, are naive or worse if they expect suspects who regularly cross in and out of Mexico to take the U.S. justice system seriously.
Weeks after Chavez slipped out of custody, on Sept. 1, another 2-year-old toddler named Jonathan Montez was run down and killed in San Bernardino County. Illegal immigrant Jose Enrique Vasquez, 53, an unlicensed driver who witnesses said was speeding down the child’s residential street, fled the scene, according to authorities. He was arrested two weeks later, and, like Chavez, was granted bail.

  • China is rising as the US declines. Britain can’t ignore this reality
The process began this year when the British government announced it would join a Chinese initiative to help fund Asia’s enormous infrastructural needs. The UK became the first non-Asian country to join the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), after which more than 30 other countries joined, including Germany and France. The United States opposed the decision because it saw the AIIB as a threat to the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
By 2030 it is projected that the Chinese economy will be twice the size of the US’s. Can Britain, or any country, ignore this? Most countries in the world in varying degrees are pivoting to China just as once, in America’s heyday, they pivoted to the US. Take Australia, a very close and long-term American ally. China now accounts for over a quarter of its exports – far greater than America’s share.

VonTrey ClarkVonTrey ClarkSamantha DeanBASTROP COUNTY, Texas — Former Austin Police officer VonTrey Clark has been indicted on a capital murder charge in the death of his pregnant girlfriend, Samantha Dean. Bastrop County records show the Grand Jury indicted Clark on Oct. 21. According to the indictment paperwork, Clark caused the death of Dean by “shooting Samantha Dean with a firearm, and intentionally or knowingly caused the death of another individual, Madeline Dean.” Clark currently sits in the Bastrop County Jail, where he’s been since Sept. 3 when he was deported from Indonesia. Clark, 32, was handed over to 13 agents of the FBI and was flown to Texas on a specially chartered plane from the bureau. Williams told detectives Kevin Watson, 31, told him Clark was looking “to pay someone $5,000 to kill Dean and her baby due to Dean wanting Clark to pay child support for the baby,” according to the warrant dated Aug. 12. Williams went onto say Watson told him he and Freddie Smith killed Dean for Clark and that Clark had driven Dean to the location in Bastrop County and the “murder had been set up to look like a drug deal,” continued in the warrant.
