black killerblack killerblack killerDillon BuenosADAMS COUNTY, Colo. – Adams County investigators are searching for three men wanted in connection with a Halloween murder. Dillon Buenos, 24, was shot and killed in the driveway of his parents’ home. It happened just after 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. “Dillon had just given the last bit of the candy out. He came outside with a friend,” Buenos’ mother Lucy Malone said. Moments after he walked out the door Malone says she and Dillon’s father, Leo Bueno, heard gunshots. When they ran outside to see what was going on they found their son had been hit. “She tried doing CPR and I was holding his hand, telling him hang on. Keep breathing, keep breathing,” Leo Bueno said. Dillon Bueno died before reaching a hospital. “There was nothing they could do,” his father said. A witness told investigators the gunman approached and demanded Dillon Bueno hand over any valuables. When he refused the suspect opened fire; his two accomplices took off running. According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, the three suspects were wearing “Halloween type” costumes described as black hoodies with skeleton bandanas. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office says the three suspects are believed to be black males in their late teens to early 20s. Their height ranges from 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 and have slender builds. - (Black-on-white)

(White) Victim's family prepares for execution of their mother's (black) killer, Ernest Lee Johnson
Mary BratcherErnest Lee JohnsonCOLUMBIA — The night she found out her mom had been murdered, Carley Schaffer sat outside her house in a Philadelphia ice storm and smoked a cigarette. She waited for her sister to pick her up so they could travel to Columbia for the funeral. She listened to the ice crackle in the trees. Saturday, more than 20 years after her mother's death, Schaffer prepared once again to travel to Missouri from the East Coast — this time to watch the execution of her mom’s killer. Her mother, Mary Bratcher, was one of three people killed by Ernest Lee Johnson in Casey’s General Store the night of Feb. 12, 1994. Bratcher, Fred Jones Jr. and Mable Scruggs were all employees at the store closing up for the night when Johnson knocked on the door. Johnson, looking for money to buy drugs, robbed the store and bludgeoned all three employees to death with a hammer. He hid the bodies in the bathroom and in a cooler. Police later found bloody shoes and a bank bag with a couple hundred dollars and store receipts in Johnson's house. Johnson, 55, is scheduled to die by lethal injection after 6 p.m. on Tuesday. - (Black-on-white)

Investigation: Sexting Possibly Linked To Deadly Caltrans Crash
Dino MorrisCheryl DurbinRogelio TorresLOS ANGELES - a Caltrans employee who was involved in a deadly crash is back behind the wheel. But two years ago, the employee was involved in a fatal crash that occurred just after he received a sexually suggestive text from his girlfriend. Despite efforts to find out what the text said Caltrans tried to stop him from reporting it, and driver Dino Morris didn’t want to talk about it. The four-vehicle collision in October 2013 involving a Caltrans sweeper driven by Morris caused a chain reaction accident on the 710 Freeway, killing Rogelio Torres after his car was crushed by the 20,000-pound sweeper as it traveled more than 40 mph. Fullerton resident Cheryl Durbin flipped over in the next car, her Toyota Camry ending up upside-down. “It was the strongest impact I’ve ever felt in a car,” she said. “It was unstoppable.” Durbin ultimately had to be cut out of her vehicle with the Jaws of Life. Durbin and the Torres family have sued Caltrans. Their cases are pending. CHP investigators say Morris never braked before impact. Attorneys claim text messages may have distracted him. The string of texts start with Morris’ girlfriend saying, “We will be having sex all day” and follows with “sex, sex, sex.” Morris was eventually fired from his job at Caltrans Long Beach but only after the DMV suspended his license for six months because of the accident. But when the suspension was up, Morris was back on the streets. Durbin is walking and had to have a spinal fusion nine months ago. She still feels the effects of the crash and finds it hard to believe Morris got off scot-free. - (Black-on-white)

Cops: Charges not expected against licensed gun holder who killed (black) robber
Reginald GildersleevePolice say charges are unlikely against a licensed concealed-carry gun owner who shot and killed a robbery suspect after he threatened a worker with what turned out to be a paint gun over the weekend. "The Chicago Police Department is wrapping up its investigation and charges do not appear likely," the department said in a statement. Police say Reginald Gildersleeve, 55, walked into the Agencia Mexicana at 2701 W. 51st St. around 7 p.m. Saturday. A customer was making a financial transaction with a worker at the store, which also serves as a currency exchange, when Gildersleeve, wearing a mask, announced a robbery and pulled out a gun. Gildersleeve and the customer "got into some kind of confrontation" and the customer pulled a gun and fired, hitting Gildersleeve several times. Several law enforcement sources said Gildersleeve had been holding a toy gun, and one source said it was a paintball gun. Gildersleeve had a lengthy arrest history, including at least one for robbery, and was out on bond from an unrelated incident from Oct. 23, according to police. He lived about three blocks from the store.

Ricky Zuber TRENTON — A state appeals panel on Friday ruled that a convicted rapist's prison sentence of more than 100 years was not cruel and unusual punishment.     (Black) Kenosha man accused in armed abduction attempts, judge compares him to “Boogeyman”
Heidi BeltoyaLeroy JohnsonKENOSHA -- A $200,000 cash bond has been set for a 62-year-old Kenosha man charged in connection with armed abduction attempts that allegedly took place last week. Leroy Johnson appeared in a Kenosha County courtroom where a judge compared him to the "Boogeyman."
One of the victims in this case was able to help police catch their suspect. The victim, a 52-year-old Kenosha woman, indicated a black, four-door vehicle pulled up next to her as she walked westbound on 50th St. -- and the suspect asked her for directions. As the victim approached the vehicle, officials say the operator pointed a pellet gun at the woman and told her to get into the car. The victim ran away from the car and the suspect fled west on 50th St. "I kept thinking 'this is not really happening. It was so surreal," Heidi Beltoya said. "This guy had pulled up and said, 'can you help me with this address?' I looked down at the paper and there was nothing on the paper and I looked up at him and he goes `get in the car` and I looked down at his hand and he had a gun." Beltoya says her instincts kicked in, and she ran to Fonte Foods nearby.
Around 7:30 p.m. on that same day, officers responded to the neighborhood near 44th St. and Kennedy Dr. Officials say this case involved a 14-year old Kenosha girl who was walking west on 44th St. The suspect was outside of his car when the victim walked past. Police say the suspect approached her, asked for directions, then grabbed her by the shirt collar and tried to force her at gunpoint into his vehicle. The victim pushed the gun away, kicked the suspect, and then ran westbound screaming for help. This is, to many of the female population, a Boogeyman scenario," the judge said. - (Black-on-white)

Justices review all-white murder trial jury - black man raped and murdered 79-year-old White woman
Timothy Tyrone FosterProsecutor Stephen Lanier’s meaning was unmistakable when he urged jurors in north Georgia to sentence the defendant to death in part to deter other people “out there in the projects.” Almost everyone in the public housing apartments near the scene of the killing of a 79-year-old woman in Rome, Georgia, was black, as was defendant Timothy Tyrone Foster. And after Lanier got through picking a jury of Foster’s peers, all the jurors were white. So was the victim. Foster has been on death row for nearly 30 years. - (Black-on-white)
