  LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A Louisville Metro Police officer who was in critical condition after a fiery crash in west Louisville on Tuesday night has died. Mayor Greg Fischer and LMPD Chief Steve Conrad said in a joint news conference at University Hospital that the officer, Nick Rodman, died at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday after suffering a severe head injury. Rodman, who had been with the department for more than three years, was pursuing a suspect around 8 p.m. Tuesday when his cruiser was hit near 26th and Duncan Streets. His cruiser was heavily damaged and caught fire. He had to be extricated from the wreckage before being rushed to University Hospital. Rodman has a wife and two young children. His father and brother are also LMPD officers. Fischer called Rodman "a man of compassion and commitment ... and a wonderful public servant."

An autopsy confirmed that Nesbitt’s death was a result of sharp force injuries. Nesbitt was found dead in his apartment at 27 N. Butler Street around 4:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon. Chief Koval said a camera showed Nesbitt and Anderson encountered each other on the street several blocks away from Nesbitt's apartment.

Osher Eisemann, 60, the founder and director of the School for Children with Hidden Intelligence in Lakewood, is accused of using a private fundraising nonprofit for the school to launder $630,000 in public tuition funds. TISHOMINGO, Miss. — A police officer in northeast Mississippi has committed suicide after admitting he molested a teenager. Ronnie Russ Robinson, a 53-year-old married grandfather, admitted he groped a 17-year-old boy after flashing his headlights to get the teen to pull over to the median. Robinson was driving an unmarked vehicle when he spotted the minor in the parking lot of a Dollar General in Glen, Mississippi. The Tishomingo police officer also told the teenager he had sex with two boys earlier that day. The boy told the officer he was not interested and reported the crime to his parents who contacted Alcorn County Sheriff’s Department. NYC: Crazed black strikes woman in seemingly random subway attack
A crazed man smacked a woman across the face on a subway train in Brooklyn, police said. The woman, 30, was attacked around 8:30 a.m. Friday on a Manhattan-bound 2 train near the Borough Hall station. A store clerk rejected her 'dirty jar' of pennies. She came back with guns.
MELBOURNE, Fla. — Police say they have been tipped off to the possible identity of a woman who tried to pay for goods using what authorities described as an "old, dirty jar of pennies," before getting into an argument and threatening to kill the store clerk when he rejected the payment method. The woman, dressed in black, turned up about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at a 7-Eleven in an incident captured on surveillance camera. Police said the woman picked up several items and then presented the clerk with pennies for payment. “She had a bunch of pennies in a jar. They clerk said they were dirty, gunked-up pennies. That’s when the argument started,” Sadoff said.
