Brandon B. Howell, 34, is in police custody and was the man arrested late Tuesday walking along Interstate 29 after a massive manhunt. Howell is suspected of assaulting three Motel 6 guests after ditching an SUV stolen from the scene where three residents were fatally shot and two others were critically injured after they were nearly beaten to death. The suspect has an extensive criminal record including first-degree murder, kidnapping, robbery, assault and animal abuse charges in both Kansas and Missouri. Kyrice Devontaie Mushat and Terry Lee Jackson Jr. are charged with capital murder. Marcus Lenard Sanders was arrested earlier and charged with capital murder and robbery in the first degree. Sheriff's deputies say the victim, 27-year-old Ballard Reynolds, died at the hospital following the shooting on Saturday. Officials say deputies responded to a report of a subject being shot on St. James Church Loop at the Waugh Park off of Marler Road. When they arrived at the scene they located Reynolds who was transported to Baptist East. - (Black-on-white)
   

    Woman Fights off Rape Attempt by Black in Brooklyn: NYPD

The man approached the woman, 32, in the front of the building near Ralph Avenue and Bainbridge Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant at about 8 a.m. Sunday, police say. When he attacked, the woman fought him off. The man then allegedly took her cell phone and ran.

The 47-year-old woman said during an interview on Monday a man pushed her to the ground and raped her in an uptown alley. Police said the incident is an "extremely active investigation" and because of the nature of the alleged crime, the department has decided to increase its patrol in the uptown area. The victim said she left the bar called Tilt on Trade Street on Saturday morning and because of a fight with her boyfriend, decided to walk home alone. "Don't walk alone," a woman said. "I mean, that's not to blame the victim but you have to be careful." Police said they are searching for a black man in his 30s, about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a 2-inch afro and scruffy beard.

On Wednesday, August 27 around 11:43 p.m. New Castle County Police responded to the 1600 block of Coleman Street for the report of a rape. Upon arrival, officers found the 29-year-old victim who said she was accosted and sexually assaulted. Investigators say the suspect is described as an African-American male in his early 20s, 5’6”-5’7” tall, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded jacket and dark sweatpants.

Christopher Fitzgerald, 22, of Allentown, is charged with simple assault, reckless endangerment, reckless driving and careless driving. Fitzgerald is the son of Allentown Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald.

Olachi EtohCHICAGO — A woman has been charged with kidnapping after she grabbed a two-year-old boy at O’Hare International Airport and tried to run away with him Tuesday afternoon. The boy was standing in the Lower Terminal 3 baggage area with his mother about 4:45 p.m. when Olachi Etoh, 24, “forcibly picked up the boy” and tried to run away down an escalator, according to a statement from Chicago Police. The mother intervened and was able to get the boy back “within moments,” police said.
   

    ‘Deadbeat’ Brooklyn pol gets her landlord arrested
Darlene MealyBrooklyn City Councilwoman Darlene Mealy stiffed her landlord out of $7,500 and then had him arrested after he changed the locks on her office, the disgruntled owner told The Post. Robert Mulzak, a retired city firefighter, says he hasn’t been paid the monthly $1,250 rent owed by Mealy since April for her district office at 203 Ralph Ave. “You would never expect this from an elected official,” he said. “You would expect them to set an example. Pay the rent.” On Friday, Mealy called the cops on him after he changed the four-story building’s locks and didn’t give her a key.

   

White Man Stabbed To Death By Hispanic While Biking To Miami To Propose To Girlfriend
Kevin AdornoRene Herrera CruzVERO BEACH — A South Florida woman is mourning the murder of her boyfriend who was killed in an unprovoked attack while biking from Maryland to Miami. Kevin Adorno, 28, was fatally stabbed at a Vero Beach McDonald’s Monday night as he neared the end of a “bucket list” bicycle trip in which he planned to propose to his girlfriend when he arrived in Miami. Adorno suffered serious stab wounds to his chest and arms. Witnesses said he was attacked outside the restaurant while talking to his girlfriend on a cellphone. He stumbled back inside but was pronounced dead a short time later at Indian River Memorial Hospital. Police arrested 59-year-old Rene Herrera Cruz, who told police Adorno was using a cellphone, and Cruz believed he was telling other people to attack him.   • 2 Jewish Men Charged With Hate Crime for Attack on Black Crown Heights Man
    CROWN HEIGHTS — Two Jewish men were arrested and charged with a hate crime after attacking a black man walking his dog in Crown Heights Saturday night, throwing garbage cans at him while using racial slurs, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office. Crown Heights resident Dieuphene Hyppolite, 56, was walking his dog shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday night near Albany Avenue and Montgomery Street when Samuel Brendler, 21, and Ahrone Koskase, 22, began harassing him, throwing garbage cans towards him and punching him in the face, according to police and court documents. The two also attempted to take Hyppolite’s dog and called him a racial slur, the documents showed. "This is my dog. F--- you, you f---ing n-----," said one of the men, according to the complaint.

    Jackson, Miss. - - Mississippi Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert for 17-year-old Katelyn Beard. Beard was reportedly abducted Sunday morning between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. from 4244 Lynda Street in Jackson, Miss. Jackson Police Department confirms it found Beard's car behind a vacant building. She is described as a white female, with long brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. Beard was last seen accompanied by Dewayne Thompson, who is described as a black male with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. They were last seen traveling in a light gray or silver 2009 Nissan Altima with a Greene County license plate that reads GRF 293. They were heading east on Lynda Street in Jackson. According to police, Beard was shot and her life could be in danger. Thomas is considered armed and dangerous. - (Black-on-white)

Marlon Dewayne “Ice” Dixon shot to death Branda “MiMi” Basham because she was working with law enforcement as a confidential informant on drug investigations, police said. Basham’s assistance led to Dixon’s arrest and indictment for distribution of narcotics, according to the criminal complaint. Dixon was arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court Thursday night and is being held without bond. He faces life in prison on first-degree murder charges. - (Black-on-white)

The Stanly County Sheriff's Office began investigating a reported sexual battery of a juvenile female on Saturday, August 23. The reported assault took place at a home in the Albemarle area, officials say. Benjamin Tyler Lennon, 35, of Albemarle, was developed as the suspect in the case. Authorities arrested Lennon on Saturday and charged him with two counts each of indecent liberties with a child and sexual battery.

The pair were at Hudson River’s Pier 81 last week when a man, woman and pooch were shot. “I gave Antwan the gun because it was his birthday,” Fall said, according to court papers. “I thought he might shoot the water, but then I knew he was going to shoot people. He’s a good shot even when he’s drunk.” After hitting the dog, “then he shot the girl,’’ Fall said. “She turned around and looked, so the pellet must have hit her leg. Cee-Lo Green Cee-Lo Green plead no contest earlier this week to charges stemming from a 2012 incident during which he allegedly gave a 33-year-old woman ecstasy without her consent during a dinner in Los Angeles. The woman says she woke up next to Green in bed, unsure of the previous night's events, but Green's lawyer argues that the two had "consensual relations." No sex charges were filed due to a lack of evidence, as per prosecutors. He was sentenced to three years probation and 45 days of community service.

Tyshon VanBlueA Davenport man has been accused of sexually abusing two victims while he served as their caretaker during Special Olympics in Ames in May, according to court documents. Tyshon VanBlue, 24, has been charged with five counts of third-degree sexual abuse. He was being held Friday at the Story County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond. The Scott County Department of Human Services reported to Iowa State University Police on June 3 that a sexual assault had occurred at Maple Hall, an ISU residence hall, on May 22 or 23. The victim said that VanBlue performed sex acts on two occasions in VanBlue's room, according to an affidavit.

Donald Gwin was already on probation for another sex crime when this latest attack happened Thursday morning. Police say Gwin was wearing a GPS tracker at the time a woman was attacked at the Country Squire Apartments. The woman said her attacker locked her inside her apartment, then raped and choked her at knife-point. She told police the suspect forced her to brush her teeth afterwards to get rid of the evidence. Gary L. Kennedy, who was also wanted on an assault charge, has been in Bexar County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail since Aug. 22. Officials initially said he was 53, but public records show him to be 51. Kennedy is accused of killing an 8-month-old Shar Pei named Boscoe on July 3 in the 100 block of Canton Street on the East Side. Security footage of the incident showed him dragging the dog's body away in a garbage bag, officials said.

Dontavious WilliamsDAYTONA BEACH -- The search is on for an escaped prisoner in Volusia County. Just before 3 a.m. Saturday, Daytona Beach police responded to the Southside Inn in reference to an aggravated assault with a firearm. Police said they approached Dontavious Williams, who gave police a false name and was detained. While in custody, police said a large crowd approached, allowing Williams to separate from officers. He then fled on foot while handcuffed behind his back. Williams is now wanted for aggravated assault with a firearm and escape. Detectives said he is known to be armed with a firearm.

Murfreesboro detectives received information that Rockvale Elementary School Principal Donald "Donnie" Johnson had purchased crack cocaine multiple times and was going to buy more at a pharmacy on Cason Lane. Detective Shawn Jensen and other Vice Unit detectives said they observed Johnson at the pharmacy using an ATM to retrieve cash. Police said Johnson then met the alleged seller, Tiquista Robinson, in the parking lot of the business. Detectives witnessed a hand-to-hand transaction and stopped both Johnson and Robinson.

    Police ID (black) man shot, killed in confrontation with police
Eugene N. Turner IIIKANSAS CITY, MO - One man is dead after he was shot by Kansas City police early Sunday morning on the city's northeast side. Kansas City police identified the man as 28-year-old Eugene N. Turner III, of Kansas City. Police were called to the area of Independence and Myrtle avenues about 4:45 a.m. on a suspicious man possibly armed with a gun. Initially, police could not find anyone, but minutes later a foot chase began with Turner, and the shooting took place a block south at East Sixth Street and Myrtle Avenue. After the shooting, paramedics were called, but Turner died at the scene. Police said a handgun was found in close proximity to the suspect. Police said Turner fired several rounds at officers before being shot and killed. It is unknown why he was walking the streets carrying a gun, police said.

 
  • Two black women sought for stabbing man in French Quarter
    black womanblack womanNew Orleans police are asking the public's help in identifying two women wanted for stabbing a man in the French Quarter early Thursday morning. The stabbing happened in the 800 block of Iberville Street at about 3:45 a.m. According to police, a 25-year-old man was walking to his hotel when two women "began feeling on him and making sexual advances." After fighting off their advances, he realized that his wallet was missing, so he confronted them and demanded his wallet back. At that point, police said, a "physical altercation ensued" and the 25-year-old was stabbed in the hand. The two women walked away on Iberville toward Bourbon Street after the incident. The first woman is black with a medium build and dark complexion. She is 6'0" to 6'5" and has long black hair. She was wearing a pink shirt with a diamond pattern. Police say she may have be transgender. The second suspect is black, about 5'5" to 5'7" tall and had a thin build with straight black hair.

 

 

    Knockout game-style attack lands bicyclist in intensive care
White friend of KO victimPRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. — A 51-year-old bicyclist remains in intensive care at VCU Medical Center after he was targeted in what a witness called a “knockout game-style” attack. The man was riding his bicycle on River Road near the Prince George County-Hopewell line at about 7:30 Sunday morning when a car came up from behind and slowed down, the bicyclist’s friend said. The friend, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation, said someone in the car reached out and hit the bicyclist in the back with either his hand or an object. The bicyclist had time to yell for help before he veered off the road and collapsed. The bicyclist had suffered a massive heart attack.

   

Arrest made in fatal shooting from 1995
Chad Everett BujanoHOUSTON - The Houston Police Department has arrested a man in connection with a 1995 homicide. Chad Everett Bujano, 35, is charged in a fatal shooting that happened around 12:50 p.m. on Nov. 12, 1995. Bujano is accused of killing 18-year-old Kristian Gaona when he was 16. Police say Gaona was walking north on the 6500 block of Ashcroft with three other friends when a newer-model SUV approached them. Bujano confessed to his role in the incident. Police say he told them that he fled to Mexico to live with relatives after the shooting. When he returned to Texas, he used an alias as his name, according to HPD.

    They had a formula for making money. Cops have charged a Brooklyn couple with using phony credit cards to buy more than $100,000 worth of Enfamil baby formula from a wholesale chain and shipping it to China. Zhao Rong, 26, and Chen Xun, 31, used different Citi­Bank credit cards to buy the formula from various BJ’s Wholesale outlets. But store workers got suspicious when the purchases were made with the same BJ’s membership card. They were busted before they could ship the formula to China, police said.

    Black suspected in murder of White man claims arrest was unlawful

Timothy Markel Gaston, 26, is accused of helping another man kill 23-year-old Matthew Hammond on July 26, 2013, at the victim’s Huntington Trailer Park home. Hammond was found with a gunshot wound around 4 a.m. that day, and was pronounced dead at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township. According to Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies, the two men forced their way into the mobile home, shot Hammond and fled the scene. On April 12, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 21-year-old Marshaun M. Ligon of Painesville. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office identified Ligon as a “person of interest” in the homicide case and he remains in custody at the Lake County Jail on a separate contempt of court charge, according to jail records. - (Black-on-white)

Dixon of Riviera Beach and Garry Lormejuste, who has no fixed addresses, are each facing charges of robbery with a firearm and possession of a weapon by a felon. Riviera Beach Police met with a Massachusetts woman Wednesday morning who said two men had attempted to open her door while flashing a handgun. She had pulled over to look at her GPS when the men attempted to enter her car. The woman was able to speed away and call police. Both suspects fled the area toward a food store, where they allegedly carjacked the 85-year-old victim, taking her Buick and purse. The woman was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, the report said. Dixon, 28, has been arrested 18 times. Lormejuste has been arrested 10 times. - (Black-on-white)

    RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. - An 85-year-old Riviera Beach woman is recovering at home after police said she was assaulted and carjacked while returning to her car after shopping. Investigators arrested Bernard Dixon and Garry Lormejuste and charged the men with felonies. The victim, Therese Lefebvre, has bandages on her arm, bruises on her legs and a cut on her cheek from where she said the gun was shoved in her face. "They think I've been to the rodeo, like I flew off the bull or something, because that's the way I feel. I went flying in the air," said Lefebvre. "I feel very lucky. He could have hit me on the head with that gun. He could have shot me. It could have been worse. He could have run over me with the car." The 85-year-old said she is beyond sore and feels something greater was taken from her in the incident. "I feel that I lost all of my dignity. All the respect. You can't be independent anymore. You can't be," said Lefebvre.

The teenager, Gary Cox, was in juvenile court Saturday after his arrest this week. The question now is if he will face charges as an adult. Gary's grandmother was with him in court Saturday, saying her grandson is only 14 and should not be charged as an adult. The judge said that is up to the State Attorney's Office. Charlotte Dunaway, 74, suffered major injuries when, according to police, Gary slammed her to the ground in an attempt to grab her purse Aug. 15 inside an Ocoee Publix. "The injuries I sustained from what he did to me are every bit as serious as they would have been if he were a 35-year-old man," Dunaway said.

He faces the same charges of assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. That incident occurred on Sunday, August 17 around 9:05 p.m., according to police. The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the incident as a possible hate crime after police say the woman was shot in the back of the head with a BB gun. Police say 23-year-old Rebecca Ann Coughenour was stabbed to death last Thursday by her boyfriend, 25-year-old Brandon Jerome Nowlin. Coughenour and Nowlin had been in a relationship for the last several years. They have a prior history of domestic violence reported. They say them men visited the Bentley Brothers funeral home in handcuffs and leg restraints and supervised by deputies. But when they returned to jail, the release says,.guards found baggies of marijuana and tobacco, a lighter and a cell phone.

The New York Police Department said Friday it was being investigated by Manhattan prosecutors for the July 13 death of Ronald Singleton. The 45-year-old was high on PCP, a hallucinogenic drug, and had been acting erratic in a taxi when officers responding to a 911 call restrained him, placing him in a protective body wrap, police said. He was headed to a hospital to undergo a psychiatric evaluation when he went into cardiac arrest and died.

The incident involving Chris Lollie and three St. Paul Police officers took place on Jan. 31, but it went viral earlier this week after it was uploaded to YouTube. Mayor Coleman released a statement Friday about the video, which shows Lollie arguing with police and eventually being tasered off camera. Coleman said the video raises a lot of concerns. Police Federation President Dave Titus defended the three officers — who he identified as Michael Johnson, Bruce Schmidt and Lori Hayne — in a statement released Saturday. “The three very experienced and decorated officers responding to this call repeatedly attempted to determine the level of threat presented by Mr. Lollie and to deescalate the situation,” Titus said. “The outcome of this arrest was determined by Mr. Lollie himself. He refused numerous lawful orders for an extended period of time. The only person who brought race into this situation was Mr. Lollie.”

    An annual Washington Heights block party took a violent turn Saturday night, when residents threw bottles out of windows at cops who arrived and shut the event down. Three police officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries from the flying bottles at around 10 p.m. at the “Love Is Love” block party at Edgecombe Avenue and West 164th Street, police said. “This whole city is turning into Ferguson,” complained neighbor Jaqelle Walker. Residents described cops advancing on peaceful revelers, who raised their hands over their heads and chanted, “Hands up, don’t shoot,” a refrain from the Ferguson, Mo., protests. At least three partygoers were arrested.

    Prosecutors: Man in CTA stabbing permanently disfigured
Kevin LeeA commuter was permanently disfigured after another CTA passenger slashed him in the face with a hunting knife, Cook County prosecutors said Saturday. Kevin Lee, 55, allegedly took the knife out and slashed the man from the mouth to the nose on a CTA bus near 79th and State about 7:40 p.m. on Wednesday. Prosecutors said the attack was unprovoked and that the two men were strangers. A police report indicates Lee is a reputed gang member. The victim, a 36-year-old South Side man, underwent reconstructive surgery but will be permanently disfigured, prosecutors said. He also received 20 stitches.

At some point, the victim told cops, Singer and company drugged him by forcing an orange drink down his throat, according to the sources. Once inside the room, Singer allegedly pinned him face down to the bed, climbed on top of him and sodomized him. Singer was the subject of two civil suits alleging sexual abuse of underage boys earlier this year, but both have since been dropped.

The Kansas City Star reports a Missouri appeals court last year ordered that he be resentenced because the jury in his trial heard improper evidence about his juvenile records. On Wednesday, the jury recommended 30 years each on two convictions of second-degree murder, 10 years for a first-degree robbery conviction and three years on three counts of armed criminal action. Police said Dyte and Mims followed Hinsch from a store and later approached him, demanding money. They then began punching him, and one of them choked him, police said.     Convicted felon charged with murder in Brooksville mass shooting
George June Mason IIIBROOKSVILLE, FL - A career criminal with an arrest record that goes back more than two decades is facing three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder in connection with a mass shooting that occurred Friday night in Brooksville. As George June Mason III attempted to flee the crime scene just as law enforcement arrived he was struck by a pick-up truck. He was transported to Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point in Hudson with several broken bones. According to a Brooksville Police Department report the incident occurred just before 9 pm at 820 Peach St. The body of one of the victims – 81-year-old Jannie V. Taylor – was located inside the residence. The others were discovered in the roadway not far from the home. Tarasha Yata Townsend, 37, and Ralph Ray Peyton, 29, were pronounced dead at the scene. Gabriel Frashawn Taylor, 33, was taken to Bayonet Point where he is listed in critical condition. Investigators say Mason, 42, chased Taylor down and shot him multiple times as he attempted to flee.

    Man Reportedly Rapes Girlfriend, Tries to Set Her on Fire
Roger EllisA 38-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly raped his girlfriend and tried to set her on fire. The Tulsa police report says the suspect, Roger Ellis, punched his girlfriend, beat her with a large "whacking stick" and threw her to the ground. Then the suspect reportedly poured alcohol on the victim and attempted to set her on fire with Coleman fuel and a lighter. The victim told police she didn't try to stop the suspect from having sex with her because she was afraid he would continue to beat her. Ellis is being held on over $100,000 bond.

    Biloxi man arrested in sexual assault, stabbing of woman
George Lee Parks IIIBILOXI -- George Lee Parks III, 43, has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman and holding her captive in his home for more than 12 hours. Biloxi Regional Medical Center called Biloxi police at 7 p.m. Wednesday when a woman in her 20s reported she was sexually and physically assaulted. Police said the woman was stabbed several times.

Brian BaileyRADNOR, Pa. – Radnor Police use facial recognition software to arrest a Philadelphia man accused of taking pictures up a woman’s skirt inside a Delaware County supermarket last week and they say it’s not the first time he’s done this. The victim told police she was shopping at the Giant Food Store in St. David’s when it appeared she was being followed. She turned to find a man using an iPhone to film up her skirt. The suspect is 52-year-old Brian Bailey, who according to Block, was on probation in Montgomery County. He was sentenced last year for shooting up women’s skirts outside a bank in Ambler.

Local media report that 38-year-old Michael Briggs was sentenced Friday in Schenectady County Court, where he pleaded guilty in March to second-degree murder and attempted burglary. Prosecutors say Briggs strangled and stabbed Mary Greco in her apartment in late December 2012. Her body was found on New Year's Day, 2013. Officials say Briggs had shoveled snow for her around the time she was killed. They say at the time of the killing, Briggs had fled from parole in a Long Island assault case. - (Black-on-white)
   

    Woman sought after man's death ruled homicide in Dodge County
black female POIMichael J. SoellerThe Dodge County Sheriff's Office is now investigating the death Sunday of a man in the Town of Fox Lake as a homicide, and have identified one person of interest. Michael K. Soeller, 43, was found dead in his home at N9938 State Highway 73, near state Highway 33, around noon on Sunday. He was found by his landlord, who had not seen him in several days, according to a release from the sheriff's office. An autopsy on Monday determined that Soeller died of blood loss from injuries caused by an assailant, and the Dodge County medical examiner ruled it a homicide. Investigators do not believe it was a random act of violence, according to the release. Investigators have identified one person of interest, a woman, whose name has not been released, who is believed to be one of the last people to see Soeller before his death. Police released a sketch of the woman on Tuesday, as well as security footage of the woman standing in a Walmart.

"Our biggest concern is just that he's going to get a slap on the (wrist) by the court system and he's going to be released to go out and do this to somebody else." West Point Police Chief Tim Brinkley said in a release Thursday that Marquavious McMillian, 20, of Aberdeen, is charged with aggravated assault an incident that left 32-year-old Ralph Weems of West Point in the hospital. Courtez McMillian, 22, was arrested earlier this week on the same charges. Both men are held on $250,000 bond. Brinkley's release said police will not say if the two are related. Weems, a former Marine and Iraq war veteran, was beaten severely in the parking lot of a West Point Huddle House. His friend David Knighten said they had gone to a Waffle House where they were told there were people inside who were angry about the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown of Ferguson, Missouri, and the restaurant wasn't "safe for whites." - (Black-on-white)

Sixty-year-old Tyrone Moore of Philadelphia was convicted of first-degree murder in the death of 31-year-old Nicholas Romanchick during an October 1982 robbery at a Luzerne County animal hospital. He was sentenced to death plus 20 to 40 years for robbery and conspiracy, but a judge later vacated the death sentence, calling defense attorneys ineffective.     Romanchick and his wife, Karen Ann, took their cat to the animal hospital where it was being treated by Dr. Joseph Lopotofsky. Two men entered the clinic saying they struck a dog. Lopotofsky told them to bring the dog inside when the two men pulled guns. As one of the men began tying up Lopotofsky and Karen Ann Romanchick, the other armed man shot Romanchick in the back and fled the clinic with a purse. Romanchick died 13 days after sustaining the gunshot wound.

    Cleveland black man arrested for rape in Bedford
Montana Hudson BEDFORD, OH - Bedford Police have taken a Cleveland man into custody for an incident involving kidnapping, rape and robbery. The female victim contacted law enforcement after she says she was attacked in the overnight hours of Sunday, August 24, at around 3:45 a.m. She told police she had just been raped by a male at gunpoint while she was walking northbound on Warrensville Center Rd., just past the Bedford Police Department. According to the victim, the suspect ran up behind her and put a gun to her head, forcing her into a grassy area off the side of the road. There, she said he raped and robbed her of $300. On Monday, August 25, the victim positively identified 23-year-old Montana Hudson as her assailant during a review of mug shots with Bedford Police.

   

Police: Hispanic Suspect Who Posed As Livery Cab Driver Before Attacking Family In Queens Arrested
Pedro VargasNEW YORK – Police have arrested a suspect who they said tried to sexually assault a woman and then attacked her three children after posing as a livery cab driver. Police said 48-year-old Pedro Vargas of Yonkers has been charged with two counts of felony assault and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He is due in court later Friday. Vargas has a rap sheet of more than a dozen arrests dating back to 1984, Burrell reported. He was sentenced in 1994 to 15 years to life on kidnapping and robbery charges. He was denied parole twice, but was released in 2012 after serving 18 years.

Richmond police had been searching for Kore Buchanan, 17, after obtaining an arrest warrant charging him with murder. Earlier Wednesday, Richmond police announced they had arrested two other men authorities say were involved in the brutal beating death of Woosley earlier this year. Deandre Plant, 20, who already was in police custody awaiting trial in another case, was charged with murder Wednesday in Woosley's death. David A. Maish, 18, who also already was in jail, has been charged with one count of assisting a criminal (a Class C felony). Michael D. Pruitt, 17, was arrested July 8 on a charge of murder after police were provided a secretly recorded cellphone video in which Pruitt details his involvement in Woosley's killing on May 18 in an alley.

Gibbs, 22, were transported to the Bergen County Jail and held after being unable to post bail. The two men held her down and “engaged her in sexual acts against her will.” A third man, Keith Brewley, 27, of Garfield, lured the girl to his family’s home, is being sought on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

    Cowardly black teen gets 20 years in prison for brutal attack on elderly couple
Jermaine EggletonRonald Ellis JrCLEVELAND, Ohio -- A judge sentenced a Cleveland teenager to 20 years in prison Tuesday for his role in a brutal home invasion in which he and his cousin pistol-whipped an elderly couple and forced the woman into the trunk of her car and drove her around the city while trying to steal from her credit cards. "The whole situation is absolutely reprehensible,'' said Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Maureen Clancy before she ordered Jermaine Eggleton, 18, to prison. "What if someone did that to your grandmother or mother?'' the judge said, as Eggleton stared back at her. Eggleton pleaded guilty last month to aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, kidnapping, felonious assault, grand theft, theft and misuse of credit cards. Cuyahoga County prosecutors and defense attorney Fernando Mack had agreed to a recommended sentence of 13 to 20 years. Judge Michael Donnelly sentenced Eggleton's cousin, Ronald Ellis, 22, to 25 years in prison. Ellis had pleaded guilty in December to similar charges in the attack, as well as attempted murder. During the attack, Ellis and an accomplice whipped Richard and Margaret Kovachik, who are both in their 80s, with a 9mm Ruger and bound them with duct tape. - (Black-on-white)

A grand jury indicted Odom on first-degree murder, first-degree sexual offense and first-degree kidnapping in connection to the case on Aug. 18. He is expected to appear in court Oct. 6.     One arrest in possibly racial West Point beating, others expected
Ralph Weems Courtez McMillian An arrest has been made in the beating of a West Point man, Police Chief Tim Brinkley said. Ralph Weems, 32, was critically injured after an assault in a restaurant parking lot Saturday morning, police said. Monday evening, they arrested 22-year-old Courtez McMillian of Okolona. He is being held in the Clay County Detention Center and will be charged with aggravated assault. Brinkley said other arrests are also pending, and that most, if not all of the assailants appear to come from Monroe County. The Associated Press reports that Weems went to a Waffle House early Saturday. Cortez WashingtonBryce DionOMAHA, Neb. - Omaha police say officers who opened fire while disrupting a robbery killed a crew member with the "Cops" television show and the suspect, who was carrying a pellet gun. Police Chief Todd Schmaderer said Wednesday that witnesses and officers thought the robbery suspect's Airsoft handgun was real, but that it fires only plastic pellets. Schmaderer said he believes the three officers involved acted properly during the attempted robbery Tuesday at a fast-food restaurant in midtown Omaha. Schmaderer says 38-year-old Bryce Dion who worked for Langley Productions and the suspect, 32-year-old Cortez Washington, were killed.
   

    Black officer strangles puppy, pleads guilty to animal cruelty
puppy similar to victim 'Rocko'ROCKVILLE, Md. — A police officer accused of killing his girlfriend's puppy pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of aggravated animal cruelty. Alec E. Taylor, 28, of Hyattsville, Md., a five-year veteran of the Baltimore Police Department, pleaded guilty to the felony charge after a February incident in nearby Silver Spring, Md., according to the Office of the State's Attorney for Montgomery County. A woman reported that her live-in boyfriend, Taylor, had beaten and killed her 7-month-old Jack Russell terrier named Rocko.
