The school’s principal, Dane Brown, told officer that Lemon had made threatening statements to another teacher. DeKalb teacher faces murder charges in 2016 gang retaliation

COUNTY, Ga. - More than 17 months after two children lost their
lives on Libby Lane in gang-related gunfire, Clayton County police
have charged a DeKalb County elementary school teacher with their
killing.Michael De’Sean White, 26, has been charged with four counts of murder. “It kicks you in the gut that someone who’s responsible for our children on a daily basis could possibly be involved with a heinous crime like this,” Daniel said. The Clayton County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Task Force arrested White on Friday. White works as a school teacher at Toney Elementary School in DeKalb County. Investigators charged White with the deaths of Tatiyana Coates, 11, and her brother, Daveon Coates, 15. Police told Winne that the brother and sister were innocent victims of gang violence. |

Side CHICAGO
(WLS) -- Chicago police say they are looking for four suspects in a
series of robberies on the Red Line. Police urged passengers to stay
alert and be aware of a group of men working as a team after three
people were robbed early Friday morning on the CTA Red Line on the
North Side, The suspects, all in their 20's, apparently are wanted
in a string of robberies along the Red Line. Police described
the four suspects as black males between the ages of 25 and
35, 5 ft. 7 in. to 6 feet tall, 140 to 200 lbs., with medium and
dark complexions. They also released surveillance camera images of
the suspects. |

Texas (KTRK) -- An embattled judge in Houston who was suspended last
year without pay and faced a review that could permanently remove
her from the bench has resigned. Harris County Judge Ed Emmett's
office confirms Harris County Justice of the Peace Hilary Green,
who'd been a judge since 2007, quit on Tuesday. According to Green's
resignation letter, the former judge said she was resigning to focus
her attention on her family. The Texas Supreme Court suspended Green
amid allegations she sexted in court and used illegal drugs.
The State Commission on Judicial Conduct earlier investigated Green
amid complaints since 2012. |

head run over after she was robbed in Central Fresno (by three

Calif. (KFSN) -- A robbery ended with the victim's head being run
over by the people who are suspected of attacking her. Fresno Police
say that a woman was robbed around 7:30 Wednesday near N First St
and E McKinley Ave in Central Fresno. Police say, the woman was
selling government phones in the parking lot near Best Boy Donuts.
She was getting ready to pack up and leave for the day when 3 women
approached her and stole the plastic tub with her phones inside of
it. Fresno police have identified the suspects as Monique
Travis, Latara Peoples, and Dawnyel Irons. The victim chased
after the suspects who jumped into a car and sped away, hitting the
women and running over her head as they took off. Police found and
arrested the suspects about five minutes later at McKinley and Cedar
with the stolen phones still in their car. |

CITY – A 76-year-old Riverside man,
attacked while fishing along the Delaware River, is recovering after
being thrown into the water by a stranger who was talking to
himself, police said. Burlington City police responded around 10:30
a.m. Thursday to the Riverfront Promenade area for a report of two
people in the water. The attacker had run away by the time police
arrived. Officers learned he had grabbed the victim and hurled him
into the river. The victim, who suffered a fractured shoulder, was
treated at Lourdes Medical Center in Willingboro and then released. Police said he was fishing on the riverfront when the suspect walked by while speaking to himself and then yelled toward the river. At some point, the suspect got behind the victim, grabbed him and threw him into the river. Witnesses and first responders rescued the victim. The suspect fled toward Stacy Street. Officers checked the area with a K-9 track but could not locate him. Police described the suspect as a black man who is 20 to 30 years old, tall and has a thin build; he was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and tan jacket. |

Man charged in CTA Blue Line robbery of man in wheelchair CHICAGO
(WLS) -- Authorities have charged a man who stole a cell phone from
a man in a wheelchair on the Near West Side. Police have charged
23-year-old Daryll Payne with one felony count of robbery.
According to authorities, Payne robbed a 54-year-old man in a
wheelchair as the man was exiting a Blue Line train on January 24.
Authorities said Payne grabbed his cell phone from the armrest of
the wheelchair and fled. Payne was identified through surveillance
video and Ventra card usage prior to being taken into custody by
police. |

Conn. — A Connecticut man convicted of killing a 23-year-old woman
has been sentenced to life in prison for what the judge called a

62-year-old Robert Graham, of Hartford, was sentenced during
an emotional hearing in which he swore and taunted the victim’s
family while maintaining his innocence. Graham was convicted
in January of murder in the August 2015 killing of Tashauna
Jackson. Jackson was last seen leaving her mother’s
house with Graham. Her body was found a week later in Bloomfield.
Her blood was found in Graham’s vehicle. Jackson’s friends and
relatives celebrated after the sentence was announced and Graham
responded by swearing at the family and taunting them by
saying he was going to win his appeal. |

man died in his girlfriend’s arms after he was stabbed with a sword
by another man following an argument in a boarding house in
Philadelphia’s Chinatown, investigators said. Kamisha
White, 28, told NBC10 the ordeal began Monday around
5:30 a.m. inside a boarding house on 10th and Appletree streets
where she, her boyfriend Tirus Kitchen,
21, and Tony Wu, 23, all lived. According to White,
the men were arguing in the stairway leading to the basement of the
building when Wu allegedly took out a 12-inch sword and stabbed
Kitchen twice in the chest. Wu, a Chinese National who
previously worked on a cruise ship, according to sources, fled the

- A Waterbury man has been charged with causing the crashes last
August that killed a popular 61-year-old woman and severely injured
two pedestrians while he was fleeing police.Joseph Guzman-Rivera, 22, of Cliff Street, was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree manslaughter, two counts of first-degree assault and three counts of reckless endangerment as well as motor vehicle offenses. Shortly after 1 p.m. on Aug. 10, state police attempted to pull Guzman-Rivera’s car over on South Avenue for having dark tinted windows and an illegible rear license plate, police said. However, police said Guzman-Rivera instead sped up driving through residential areas and a school zone at high speed. Susan Tomczyk had just left her doctor’s office where she had gotten a clean bill of health on her new hip replacement and was headed to her Bridgeport home when police said Guzman-Rivera blew through the red traffic light at the intersection of Iranistan and Railroad avenues plowing into the side of a Tomczyk’s Toyota sedan and forcing her car into a cement wall, police said. Tomczyk was pronounced dead an hour later from multiple injuries at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. After striking Tomczyk’s car, police said Guzman-Rivera continued driving, striking two pedestrians, William Falcon, 61, and 65-year-old Zordia Mendez. Police said Falcon was pinned under Guzman-Rivera’s car and caught in a telephone guide wire. Firefighters had to lift the car off him with a hydraulic jack resulting in the amputation of Falcon’s left ankle. Mendez suffered a fractured left leg and bruises and abrasions on his head and ribs. Guzman-Rivera ignored Falcon’s screams from beneath his car and instead fled his car, jumping fences and running through rear yards to get away, police said. Using the state police tracking dog Nero, police said they traced Guzman-Rivera to a basement on Lewis Street. During a struggle with the dog, police said, Guzman-Rivera began to gouge the animal’s eyes and punch Nero in the head and face. State police said they hit Guzman-Rivera three times in the chest with a baton to get him to release his grip on the dog. - (Black-on-white) |

that once the security guard left, the stranger pushed him into a
bathroom stall and forced him to perform a sex act, then threatened
him. The boy didn't report the incident until the next day, when he

VEGAS (FOX5) - A man suspected of beating a woman to death turned
himself in Wednesday, according to Metro Police. Police took Ladonte
Wilson, 33, into custody in coordination with his attorney. He
had a warrant out for murder.On Jan. 13, at 10:15 p.m. officers responded to the incident in the 600 block of East Twain Avenue, near Swenson Street. Arriving officers located a woman, identified as Shelley Toyama, 59, suffering from apparent head trauma. She was taken to Sunrise Hospital for treatment but died from her injuries on Feb. 15. The Clark County Coroner's Office said Toyama died from blunt force trauma. |

door. Police said the suspect stole thousands of dollars worth of
jewelry and electronics from two homes. One of the homeowners did
not give up on finding the suspect. Victor Bell's arrest did

Sacramento Man Arrested In Ventura For Human Trafficking - Is

BEACH (CBS13) – Ventura County detectives have arrested a Sacramento
man for human trafficking. The suspect, James Powell, is
accused of trafficking two adult women and three underage teenage
girls. Four of those victims are also from Sacramento County, while
the fifth is from Rohnert Park. According to the Ventura County
Sheriff’s Department, the investigation started in Camarillo with
the discovery a 14-year-old runaway.
That led detectives to two more victims in Ventura County. Powell

Now-retired Chicago police officer charged in 2016 sexual abuse
of woman inside police station CHICAGO
(WLS) -- A now-retired Chicago police officer has been charged in
the sexual abuse of a woman inside a police station in 2016.
Clifton, 59, was arrested on Wednesday. On Thursday, police said he
has been charged with criminal sexual abuse and official misconduct.
His bail was set at $100,000 and he was released on bond Thursday
evening. Clifton left jail in a hurry, with a jacket over his head.
Police said Michael Clifton was identified as the on-duty
officer who sexually abused a woman inside the 5th District Police
Station. Prosecutors said the 37-year-old woman came in to the
police station to report a crime and Clifton abused her in an
office. |

man Arrested For Stealing, Torturing Pit Bull In Monterey County  (CBS
SF) — A man is in custody after the alleged torture of a stolen pit
bull just outside of Soledad city limits, according to the Society
for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for Monterey County. At
9:30 a.m. Tuesday, a Soledad police officer located a
severely burned black and white American pit bull on Metz
Road. The dog was transported to a nearby veterinary hospital where,
because he suffered burns over 90
percent of his body, he was euthanized. According to
the SPCA for Monterey County, their investigation led to the arrest
this morning of Devonte Sirwet-Perea. He was arrested in
Salinas and booked into county jail on suspicion ofanimal theft,
animal cruelty, arson and possession of controlled substances.“The pain and terror this poor dog endured must have been unimaginable,” SPCA for Monterey County spokeswoman Beth Brookhouser said in a statement. “No living being should ever suffer like that.” |

Chapman had to be revived after he overdosed in the elevator
of the Royal Athena, authorities say he had 20-gram bag of heroin on
him. A later search of the apartment registered in his name found heroin,
fentanyl and the much deadlier carfentanil. “Carfentanil is an
elephant tranquilizer.” “This poison can incapacitate a
6,600-pound elephant and someone is selling it, this incredibly
deadly poison, to humans.” Chapman and his nephew, 23-year-old
Nasai Chapman, trafficked the drugs, which they ordered,
purchased and had shipped from China. |

FLORENCE, S.C. -- Video from a police shooting in South Carolina
shows a volunteer officer firing as many as eight shots at a car as
the driver hits a police cruiser and then drives away from a traffic
stop. The driver, who is black, who was shot and wounded by
a constable in Florence was released from the hospital two days
later. The driver of the car was identified as Brandon
Fludd. The two body cameras worn by the officers and a
dashboard camera show the officers pulling a man over. After asking
for his information, they tell him to get out of his car because
they smell marijuana. As he refuses and argues with them, Constable
Christopher Bachochin slowly walks around the back of the car.
The driver takes a drag from his cigarette and puts his car in
reverse. By that time, Bachochin is standing beside the car.
Bachochin, who is white, is seen quickly taking a few
steps back from the driver's side of the car and firing several
shots. One of the police officers was on the passenger's side. The
car hits a police cruiser, pauses then drives away. "Yeah. That

authorities arrested two people on Thursday after a patron fired a
gun at restaurant security guards following a dispute over a bill,
police said. The incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. when Montana
Artis, 21, and Tony Smith, 19, were customers at the Cadillac
Ranch Great All-American Bar and Grill, according to Fox 5 DC. The
pair were believed to be having an issue with employees about their
check, the Prince George’s County Police Department said. Artis and
Smith were being removed from the establishment by security guards
when Artis drew his weapon and started firing, police said.

An Asian man suspected of sending homemade explosive devices to 11
government facilities in the Washington, D.C., area has been charged
in the case. Thanh Cong Phan, 43, was arrested Monday
evening at his home in Everett, Wash., by local and federal law
enforcement agencies. He appeared Tuesday in a federal courtroom in
Seattle, charged with one count of shipment of explosive materials.
The criminal complaint alleges that he sent them through the U.S.
mail on March 16 from Mill Creek, a Seattle suburb. SEND

sixth-grade teacher in Arizona accused of having sex with

man who served as a rabbi and teacher was arrested and charged
in a 1999 sexual assault of a boy in Woodcliff Lake, according
to the Bergen County prosecutor's Office. Rabbi Menachem M.
Weiss, 46, of Los Angeles, was accused of sexually
assaulting a boy from January to June 1999 in Woodcliff Lake,
the prosecutor's office stated. Woodcliff Lake police received
information of the sexual assault in December 2016, and Weiss
was indicted on Tuesday. The rabbi was taken into custody by
Port Authority police Thursday evening at Newark Airport and
taken to Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing
scheduled for Monday, according to the prosecutor's office. He
arrived on a flight from Los Angeles and there was a warrant out
for his arrest, according to Port Authority spokesman Joseph
Pentangelo.

Polish man living in Massachusetts will be deported once he
serves up to 10 years in prison after he beat a dog so badly
that officials were forced to euthanize it.
