man accused of killing a two-year-old Belleville boy.The toddler, Kane Friess-Wylie, died last year and his mother's ex-boyfriend was charged in his death. The child's family has since rallied support from the community under the name "Justice for Kane." Friess-Wylie's paternal grandmother, Joellan Wylie, said the family has an interview arranged with the prosecutor working the case against Gyasi Campbell in the child's death. Nevertheless, she said she is frustrated at the court process. Friday is the first anniversary of Kane's death, and Wylie expects to stay close to home "and remember him; it's what we do every day." Wylie said she heard Bob Romanik's radio show talking about the case against Campbell and she approached the radio station. Romanik organized the rally both to honor Kane and to roust St. Clair's judges. The county's judges don't treat residents the way they would treat their own families, he said, citing Campbell's million-dollar bail reduction to $150,000 on April 2. "If that had been her (Judge Zina Cruse's) family ... there'd be no bond," he said. pleading guilty to a double murder. Robert Dumon Johnson, 36,

on May 26, 2016. Lexington County deputies discovered two burnt
bodies when responding to a house fire on the 200 block of
Cedarcrest Drive. The victims, who were found with multiple stabs in
the master bedroom, bled to death prior to the fire being set,

Toledo men were indicted Friday on murder charges stemming from the
shooting of a man and woman in a North Toledo alley.Sidney Slater, Jr., 27, and Ricky D. Thompson, III, 19, each were indicted on two counts of aggravated murder, murder, and felonious assault, and one count of aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary. The charges stem from the Jan. 11 shooting deaths of Santiago Rease, 20, and Colleen Stamper, 19. Jeff Lingo, chief of the criminal division for the Lucas County Prosecutor's Office, said investigators allege three assailants, including Mr. Slater and Mr. Thompson, entered a home at 2826 N. Erie St., where three people inside were held at gunpoint and robbed. Moments later, Mr. Rease and Ms. Stamper pulled up in a car. “As Mr. Rease goes to go in the house, there's a confrontation, and he is shot multiple times and drops to the ground,” Mr. Lingo said. “The shooter then fires multiple times at the car,” striking Ms. Stamper at least once. STRABANE, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania authorities say a wanted Florida
man was shot and killed after he fled from an attempted traffic
stop, crashed his vehicle and exchanged gunfire with officers. State
police say officers tried to stop 45-year-old Steven Brooks
on Interstate 79 in South Strabane late Thursday for erratic
driving. They say Brooks drove away and went the wrong way down a
ramp from Interstate 79 to Interstate 70 before crashing his vehicle
into a bridge support column around 11:30 p.m. Brooks then allegedly
fled on foot and pulled a gun on officers, trading gunfire with
them. He was shot in the exchange and was pronounced dead around
1:40 a.m. Friday.Brooks is accused of killing Caroline Morton-Hicks, his landlord, after she left orchestra practice in Pinellas Park because he was late on his rent, according to an eviction attorney. - (Black-on-white) |

Man charged with murder of his girlfriend's White father - and
child endangerment in Overland Park shooting  OLATHE,
Kan. — A man has been charged with second-degree murder in an
Overland Park, Kansas, shooting that left a man dead and child
injured. Elijah Lewis King is also charged with aggravated
battery and aggravated endangerment of a child. He allegedly shot
his 6-year-old daughter in
the leg, and killed his girlfriend’s father Tuesday morning at
a duplex near 83rd and Switzer. The victim has been identified as
52-year-old David Slater. Police told 41
Action News King was visiting his girlfriend with his daughter when
a fight between him and Slater broke out, and shots were fired.

(White) father A man has been booked into the Johnson County Jail on suspicion of murdering his girlfriend's father in Overland Park. "He’s being held on suspicion of second-degree murder," said Sgt. John Lacy, an Overland Park police spokesman. Police responded Tuesday morning to a home in the 8300 block of Switzer Street and found 52-year-old David Slater fatally shot. Slater's sister, Carol Rawson, said Tuesday evening that the family was reeling. Rawson said Slater's daughter lived with Slater in his home on Switzer. Rawson believed the daughter's boyfriend was visiting his girlfriend Tuesday morning. Slater was a night manager at Price Chopper, where he'd worked for 25 years. He leaves behind his daughter, wife and stepson. The man held on suspicion of murder is 21 years old and has multiple criminal convictions, according to court records. He was guilty of two counts of misdemeanor possession and one count of misdemeanor theft in 2016. A 6-year-old girl was also shot, though Lacy said police had no indication that the girl was shot intentionally by the gunman. On Saturday night, Estes lost another member of his family. 50-year-old Keli Jurdy told Estes that she was in an unhealthy relationship. And on Saturday night, Jurdy and her boyfriend, Howard Lackey, got into an argument. It became heated, and that's when shots went off, striking Jurdy in the head. Don had been in contact with Jurdy all the way up until her death. "Keli was a pretty good person. She was getting her life together. 16-year-old boy found guilty of trying to kill Portsmouth police
officer PORTSMOUTH,
Va. - In court on Friday a jury found 16-year-old William
Patterson Jr guilty of Attempted Capital Murder. The teen has
been on trial all week after police said he tried to kill Portsmouth
Police Officer Angelina Baaklini back on
November 6, 2017. The officer was shot multiple times while
patrolling on Hickory Street when she came in contact with Patterson
who she tried to take into custody because he was a known runaway.
In court on Wednesday and Thursday, medical experts testified that Baaklini
would have died had she not had a tourniquet placed on her leg
immediately after she was hit in the femoral artery. |

Pleasantville man indicted in sexual assaults on sisters 8 and 9 A
man with a history of sexually abusing children was indicted this
morning in assaults on two girls ages 8
and 9.Sherron Scott, 32, faces several charges, including three counts of first-degree aggravated assault on the two girls while he was dating their mother last year. Scott was arrested in January, and ordered held pending trial by Superior Court Judge Benjamin Poldonick. An investigation began in July, after the girls told their father, who brought them to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. They each told of separate instances just after they got out of the shower, and said the assaults included Scott penetrating them with his fingers. |

NC (WBTV) - A man was arrested Thursday in a decades-old Charlotte
sexual assault case.Johnny Calvin Kimble, 55, is accused of sexually assaulting a woman on Nov. 3, 1992, in a neighborhood. The 32-year-old woman says she met the suspect at a family member's neighbor's house. She said she was walking with the suspect through the neighborhood when he knocked her to the ground and sexually assaulted her as she tried to fight him off. Police say evidence collected in the case, including DNA, led to identifying Kimble as the suspect. Kimble also reportedly took money from the victim during the assault. Sexual assault cold case detectives issued warrants for Kimble's arrest. He was found and arrested Thursday before being taken to police headquarters to be interviewed. Kimble is charged with second-degree rape and common law robbery. |

Marin County rape suspect told a judge Thursday that he would not
have committed such a crime because “I’m a good-looking guy” and the

stabbing. Prince George’s Police Department have arrested Canaan
Peterson, 23, of Baltimore with first degree murder and other
related charges. According to police, the stabbing happened on March

Beltsville. When police arrived, they found 27-year-old Antonio
Barnes, from Beltsville, suffering from a stab wound.
Police said it appears the stabbing happened during an argument
between the suspect and victim. Barnes was taken to a nearby

Calhoun Co. double homicide suspect captured in Atlanta drug
bust    CALHOUN
COUNTY, Ala. — After nearly nine months on the run, the final
suspect in a double murder on Rabbittown Road is in Calhoun County
authorities' custody. Sheriff Matthew Wade says they contacted
agencies in Florida and several cities in Georgia , but it was an
early morning drug arrest in Atlanta that ended the search. "Atlanta
PD came in contact with Rhimingtin Johnson in Downtown
Atlanta. He was arrested for possession of cocaine and when they got
to the jail, they finger-printed him. Today’s technology is
wonderful in a sense. [In] 15 minutes it said he was somebody else
wanted in Calhoun County on two charges,” said Wade. The tragedy at

Monroe man is facing charges of first degree rape and oral sexual
battery of a three-year-old.According to an arrest warrant filed for Levon Jennings, age 24, Calypso Street, an investigation into the incident started on Monday. The victim told her mom that Monday morning Jennings did something "ugly" to her. She said Jennings told her he had medicine to give her, according to the warrant. Her partially clothed body was found in January about 50 miles from her Grand Rapids home. The accused rapist, Quinn James, is charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and other crimes. He’s accused of sexually assaulting Mujey last summer and then killing her while he was free on bond in the case. James’ co-defendant, Gerald Bennett, is charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Investigators have alleged the men plotted to kill the teenager, but few details have been released. |

He's accused of keeping the woman confined for 10 days in October 2017 inside his North Townsend Street apartment. He then beat her and asked her to have sex, police said. When she refused, he then told the woman "one hand washes the other," which she took as a threat, police said. Crawford then raped the woman every day, police have said. |

Lumpford indicated to the 34-year-old delivery woman that he had a gun, threatened her and attempted to take the pizza from her, according to court documents. 17-year-old girl to perform sex acts with men at a
local hotel have been indicted on sex trafficking charges. A
grand jury indicted Ashley Gardener, 30, and Breon Mickens, 26,
on first-degree charges of conspiracy, human trafficking, promoting
prostitution of a minor, promoting organized street crime, and
advertising commercial sex abuse of a minor. For three days
before the teen escaped the couple and was found on the side of
Interstate 295, Gardener forced her to have sexual intercourse with
approximately four to 15 men per day. The suspects deprived
the girl of food, gave her marijuana to smoke, and prevented her
from calling her family. |

felony, for allegedly leaving him in an outside on a freezing night
and causing his death from hypothermia.“This dog Champ suffered as he froze to death just because his owner did not take him inside on one of the coldest nights of the winter," Montco DA Kevin Steele said in a statement released on Wednesday. to an al-Qaida leader who they knew planned to use it for terrorist
acts. Asif Salim and Sultane Salim both pleaded guilty
to concealing the financing of terrorism on Thursday in federal
court in Toledo. Prosecutors agreed to drop more serious charges
against the pair who are U.S. citizens in exchange for the pleas.

Twenty-three-year-old Dayshaun Keith Kent says the mother
of five overdosed on Benadryl. Kent and Merle-Perez were living together when she was reported missing last March, according to CBS affiliate WDBJ. He initially told police that she had packed up her belongings and left. The Roanoke Times reports that Kent admitted he buried her body in the woods in Virginia sometime last spring. He also stuffed her two cats in a backpack and tossed them into a creek. He continued living in her home and used her credit cards. a friend of a friend who needed a place to stay. She says she
allowed him to share her North Side apartment with her while she

incident occurred on Sunday evening near Beneva Road and Riviera
Drive. Video captured Sunday shows a man on a motorcycle, Darin
Hendrickson yelling for the driver of a car to pull over.
Hendrickson said the driver threw a metal object at him and, instead
of pulling over, the driver slams into him and takes off.
Hendrickson knows he's lucky to be alive. "He just willingly
knew what exactly he was doing," he said. "He tried to kill me
and there is nothing that is going to change that." Deputies found the car parked behind the home of Medrano-Bonilla's friend. It had been stripped of its doors, windows, and tag. Deputies said Medrano-Bonilla was driving without a license. Deputies arrested him for aggravated battery and driving without a license. "There's a reason why he didn't have a license, there's a reason why he didn't own a car and there's a reason why he ran," said Hendrickson. body was found in a Wichita dumpster has been arrested in
Iowa. Lt. Todd Ojile said the suspect, identified through
booking records as Donnell Stafford, was arrested at around
9:20 a.m. Tuesday in Davenport. An Iowa state trooper found the
victim's stolen vehicle in a hotel parking lot and the 30-year-old
suspect was located inside the hotel and taken into custody.
"Investigators were able to piece together the events and we issued
a felony pickup for her 30-year-old husband," Ojile said, adding
that the case would be presented to the district attorney's office
on Tuesday.Ojile said Leuh Moore was killed early Sunday morning at her home in the 1100 block of West Dayton and her body was then put in the dumpster less than a mile away. "There is a history of domestic violence," Ojile said. "We don't know what led to the homicide." Investigators believe the couple's 7-year-old son was home at the time of the crime. COUNTY, Ga. - Police have arrested a man after they say he stabbed
his manager after being fired on Friday. Gwinnett County police were
called to an On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina in the 2000
block of Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth after reports of a man being
stabbed. Police say the man, a manager at the restaurant was
stabbed in the neck by 44-year-old Kesely Ingram while he
was in the process of firing Ingram. Ingram had been an employee of
the restaurant for the last 10 years, officials say. Ingram fled the
scene after the stabbing and later turned himself in to detectives
at the location. He has been charged with aggravated assault and
aggravated battery. The victim, whose name has not been released at
this time, was taken to the hospital with severe injuries.

residential burglaries which totaled nearly $3 million in stolen

Ala. – An Alabama youth evangelist has been arrested on
child sex charges. Media outlets report that police in the
Birmingham suburb of Hoover arrested 37-year-old Paul Edward
Acton Bowen of Southside on multiple charges involving a
boy between the ages of 12 and 16. Police Capt. Gregg
Rector calls the case "disturbing" because of the man's position
with Acton Bowen Outreach. Bowen is a public speaker who has
written three books for sale online. Bowen is charged with
offenses including second-degree sodomy and
second-degree sex abuse. Rector says the victim is a family
acquaintance.
