Pleasantville man was originally charged with murder in the 2013
strangulation death of a South Jersey mother of three whose remains
were found stuffed in a suitcase.Steven R. Stallworth, 31, ultimately pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated manslaughter and desecration of human remains in the death of Tara Rogers-Alicea, 30, of Monroeville, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. A hunter found Rogers-Alicea's decomposing remains in a wooded area behind Shore Mall in Egg Harbor Township on Jan. 5, 2014. Investigators had to share images of her tattoos with the public in order to identify the victim and fingerprints confirmed the ID. Her cause of death was ruled asphyxiation by strangulation. Jury acquits BLACK of attempted murder during sex assault of

Manhattan jury on Thursday acquitted an attacker of attempted murder
amid a sex assault — even though he hurled a terrified woman onto
subway tracks. After deliberating for two days, jurors told The Post
that Kimani Stephenson wasn’t guilty of the top charge
because the vicious act wasn’t premeditated but a crime of rage.
“There was no argument or proof that he had any intent in the moment
to kill her,” said foreman Dmytro Zhuravystsky. The jury did find
Stephenson guilty of first-degree assault and sex abuse, for which
he faces up to 25 years behind bars. On April 14, 2017, Stephenson
grabbed 23-year-old Bonnie Currie,
groped her and threw her off an F-train platform at 14th Street,

sex in a running car with her mechanic lover when her body was found
by her husband on Monday night. Law enforcement sources told NBC the
woman, 39-year-old Tameka Hargrave and a 56-year-old man
believed to be her mechanic, had died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
The sources said they believed Hargrave had been paying the man to
fix her car by having sex with him. Her husband,
Kahali Johnson, told ABC he found their bodies inside
the garage, along with had been left running in a closed garage, and
called police just before 9pm. Johnson said he went to
investigate after a strong gas odour entered his apartment before
9pm on Monday, and found the pair 'laid out'. He claimed when he
found them, they were both outside the car, which had been left

Police Chief Richard Grimes said the shooting suspect, 20-year-old Emanuel
Lopes, was in custody. A police officer and
innocent bystander were shot and killed as the officer confronted a
vandalism and erratic driving suspect in Weymouth, Massachusetts,
authorities said Sunday. Authorities said Officer
Michael Chesna, a five-year veteran of the Weymouth Police
Department, was responding to a report of an erratic driver near
South Shore Hospital shortly after 7:30 a.m. on
Sunday.
Police say the suspect crashed a car, fled the scene, and was later
discovered by Chesna allegedly vandalizing a home. Prosecutors say
that's when he attacked Chesna with a rock to the head. Chesna fell
to the ground, and officials say, Lopes took the officer's gun and
shot Chesna multiple times in the head and chest. Lopes then fled
and fired more shots during a chase. Police say one of those shots
fatally struck the woman in her home. |

Man charged with assault after allegedly injuring 2 (Whtie)
Randolph County deputies  R ANDOLPH
COUNTY, N.C. – A man accused of stabbing a Randolph County deputy
and injuring another at a home on Friday has been arrested.
Clarence Rodney Harris faces one count each of resisting a
public officer, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill
inflicting serious injury and assault with a deadly weapon with
intent to kill. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was called to a
home on Hwy. 49 North near Ramseur after somebody called 911.
Deputies said the suspect assaulted the 911 caller and was inside a
home on Crestwick Road when they arrived. Deputies tried to speak to
the suspect and the suspect pulled out a “edged weapon” and cut and
stabbed Lieutenant Kevin Walton,
according to a sheriff’s office press release. Detective

waitress required 15 stitches after she was attacked by four women
she served Tuesday night at a Henry County Applebee’s, police said.
The women beat and punched the waitress and stabbed her in the
forearm with a steak knife, McDonough police Maj. Kyle Helgerson
told AJC.com. They allegedly took her tip money before they skipped
out on a $62.57 bill.

- The general manager of a D.C. restaurant is fighting for his life
after he was shot during a robbery in Atlanta.Christian Broder is in critical condition after he was wounded in the abdomen early Sunday morning in Northeast Atlanta. Police said the 34-year-old victim was with three other people waiting for an Uber after leaving a wedding reception at the Capital City Club when the robbery and shooting occurred. According to police, a white Dodge Charger with two men inside approached the group while they were waiting for their Uber ride. One of the men got out from the passenger side of the vehicle and pulled out a handgun demanding their belongings. After the victims complied by giving up their cellphones, wallets and other valuables, the suspect attempted to return to the vehicle. Police said Broder attempted to follow the suspect and that led to the suspect firing a shot at Broder, hitting him in the stomach. The gunman got into the car and fled the scene. Halfway House - "No Justice - No Peace"   MINNEAPOLIS
(WCCO) — The man convicted of killing a Twin Cities police officer
nearly 40 years ago walked out of prison Tuesday. The state released
Isaac Brown to a halfway house. Brown served 37 years behind
bars for shooting Minneapolis
police officer Richard Miller in 1981. Miller was
just months shy of retirement when he died in the line of duty.
The officer’s widow did not want Brown freed.Former police
chief is OK with the injustice of a murderer going free. But to another fellow officer, there’s a different view. “He murdered a police officer in cold blood, no ifs, ands or buts,” said retired Lt. Mike Sauro. He says Miller was kind and giving, a devoted father and a volunteer to children’s charities. “The person who murdered him deserved to spend the rest of his life in prison but with our criminal justice system, I guess that’s not the way it’s gonna be,” he said. After Miller was killed, the law changed. Now anyone convicted of killing an officer has no chance at parole. Brown will be in a halfway house for at least a year, he’ll have another hearing to determine if he will be set free. Tuesday was a very tough day for Miller’s wife. KCK man charged with murder in KCMO shooting that killed (white)

CITY, Mo. — Prosecutors charged a Kansas City, Kan., man with second
degree murder related to a deadly shooting that happened at 9th and
Chestnut on June 30. Gari Mansaw, is under arrest and
accused in the shooting that killed 21-year-old Stephanie
Davis. He is also accused of assault and two counts
of armed criminal action.Court records say officers responded to the area of 9th and Chestnut just before 5 a.m. on June 30 where they found a shooting victim who had also been struck with a brick. He was next to an SUV where officers found Davis inside, dead from a gunshot wound to the head. Investigators say cell phone records revealed she had been in frequent contact with a “Gary W” and a phone number linked to Mansaw. Police cameras also showed a vehicle registered to Mansaw in the area of the shooting not long before witnesses reported hearing shots. The assault victim gave police an interview, but had to use a tablet and gestures because his jaw was wired shut. He conveyed to police that he drove Davis to the scene of the shooting so she could meet an individual named “Gary.” He identified Mansaw as the man who shot him. Police used cell phone records to track down Mansaw’s vehicle on July 9, and arrested him on July 11. He declined to give police an interview and requested an attorney. - (Black-on-white) |

case where a disabled couple, who both use wheelchairs, were robbed

29, of Durham, was arrested Friday and placed in Durham County Jail
under a $25,000 bond. Campbell has been charged with robbery,
attempted robbery, and two counts of assault on a handicapped
person. Investigators said a 78-year-old
woman and 66-year-old man had just gotten off the bus
in front of their house in the 300 block of Chestnut Street last
Friday when they were held up. Wayne
Huggins uses a wheelchair, as does his
wife, Barbara, was born with cerebral palsy. |

Boynton Beach police arrested two caretakers from the Colonial
Assisted Living facility and accused them of using duct tape
to restrain a 67-year-old woman
suffering from dementia. The elderly woman was tied
to a chair in another patient’s room and duct tape was used to tape
her mouth shut.Lashron Williams, 44, and Phygelle Brudent, 52, were arrested each on charges of false imprisonment and elder abuse Thursday. The two women are being held at the Main Detention Center in West Palm Beach. Police say Brudent admitted that she tied the patient to the chair on July 3, the Palm Beach Post reported. She did so, she said, because she was “frustrated” that the elderly woman would not be quiet and that she had other patients to attend to. Williams said she saw the patient with duct tape around her mouth and that she removed it to give her sleeping pills. woman was found guilty Wednesday after she poured a pot of hot
grease on her neighbor following a fight.The incident occurred in October 2016 at the Oak Forest Apartments in DeKalb County. Nekia Carter, 25, was accused of not only throwing the pot of hot grease on the victim, but also of chasing her with a butcher knife and a bottle of bleach. She claimed self-defense, but video showed that she left her apartment with the pot of grease and searched for the victim, according to a spokesperson with the DeKalb County District Attorney's Office. The victim, 21-year-old Sharell Henderson, suffered second and third-degree burns to her face and scalp, and first and second-degree burns to her chest, arms, and stomach, according to the district spokesperson. Henderson was hospitalized for 11 days. |

Tallahassee man is in custody after he is accused of grabbing three
guns from two local businesses. Jason White, 24, faces three counts of firearm thefts from Cash America Pawn and Academy Sports Friday. At 11:21 a.m., Tallahassee Police officers were called to Cash America Pawn, 2535 S. Adams St., where employees reported a man had asked to look at two handguns, a .45 and a .380 caliber handgun. The man picked up both handguns, ran outside the store without paying for them and took off in a silver Toyota. Almost four hours later, at 3:12 p.m., TPD received a call from Academy Sports, 3122 Mahan Drive, where employees had detained a man who tried to run out of the store with a handgun, ammunition, and a backpack, which were stolen from the business. Ferguson, 27, was involved in a fight with his girlfriend in Miami before jumping into a Kia SUV and driving off, according to police. His girlfriend told investigators that they had just arrived from Ohio and had gone to buy diapers for her daughter. She said he went downstairs to get their belongings and when he returned he seemed paranoid, saying people were watching him and they had to leave. pet owner has been charged with animal cruelty after being filmed
washing two German Shepherds
with a power hose at a car wash. Marshall Bullard, 49,
was filmed by surveillance cameras at Wash Stop in Warren, Detroit,
on June 24 hosing down the two dogs. The horrified car wash
owner, who called police straight away, posted the video on Facebook
afterwards to share her disgust. Bullard later spoke out to
local news outlets to say he had rescued the animals from someone
else and that he wanted to clean them because they were covered in
feces and fleas. He said he exercised 'poor judgement' and thought he was doing the right thing by hosing them down but realized he had made a mistake. Since then, police have continued their investigation and this week charged him with animal cruelty after finding two other dogs in Bullard's care. |

A Garland man has been arrested after police say he exposed himself
to shoppers — including children — at a thrift store this week. Eduardo
Rafael Rodriguez, 63, was booked into the Garland jail
Wednesday and faces a charge of indecency with a child by exposure.
His bail has not been set. Witnesses reported that the man walked in
and, while in the main area of the store, exposed his genitals to a
number of customers, some of whom were children. |

Prosecutors say he had sex with the victim while staying in her family's home in Lenexa. period in August 2016. The original indictment included 12 charges,
with McCray admitting to two counts of sexual abuse in the second
degree, rape in the first degree, and sexual abuse in the third
degree.Benton County Circuit Court Judge David Connell called it “one of the most grievous cases” he has seen in his 14 years on the bench. authorities that Timothy Demetris Hopkins had allegedly held
her at gunpoint and sexually assaulted her at a residence. The
victim gave officers a description of Hopkins and police located him
near the residence. Hopkins had a handgun in his
possession. The victim was taken to DCH Medical Center for
examination. After interviewing both the victim and the suspect,
police charged Hopkins with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy,
and certain persons forbidden to possess a pistol. |
