N.Y. (WHAM) - The man convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend in
Sodus in 2016 was sentenced Thursday morning. Alvin Pinkard,
61, was sentenced to the maximum of 25 years to life. State Police
say Josephine Chiaverini,
57, was found dead on her back porch on October 6, 2016 after a
family member requested police to check on her well-being at her
house on Joy Road. |

LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Broward Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a
man that can be seen in surveillance footage captured inside a
convenience store. That man is accused of killing 61-year-old Ayub
Ali, a father of four. Inside Aunt Molly’s food
store Tuesday afternoon, the suspect is seen following Ali around
the counter, moments before putting a black object to his back. At
one point, Ali is seen putting his hands up, appearing not to put up
any fight. Shortly after, the man takes money from the register and
leaves. But according to deputies, the suspect returned shortly
after and shot Ali. He was taken to Broward health medical
center and pronounced dead. |

sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl  Investigators
say the man is considered armed and dangerous and is believe to be
in his early 20s with a tattoo of lips on his neck. Police say back
on July 10, the teen victim was pushed into the woodline on the 3000
block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive NW and sexually assaulted at
gunpoint. The crime is sending shockwaves through the community.“It’s too dangerous walking around here at night,” one community member said. “People walking around, you don’t know what their motives are.” |

Police make rape arrest LEXINGTON,
Ky. (LEX 18)-- A man is in jail Friday morning accused of violently
raping a woman. It happened Wednesday afternoon in the 1300 block of
Devonport Drive. The alleged victim told police 25-year-old Harry
McDermott held her down and forced her to have sex in a
vehicle He then pushed her out of the car, injuring her face and
shoulder. Police say the victim gave them McDermott's license plate
number and matching physical description.He was arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree rape. |

(BLACK) man goes on stabbing rampage in French Quarter  NEW
ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A negro in a wheel-chair went on a stabbing
rampage in the middle of an intersection in the French Quarter
Thursday night. Keith Martin was obstructing traffic at
Exchange Place and Iberville Street when a car approached the
intersection. Martin began stabbing the hood of the victim's
car. Police said he then stabbed
another victim who was crossing the street. That
victim suffered a chest wound, according to NOPD. The victim in the
car began to pepper spray Martin when a
third victim and EMS intervened. They instructed
Martin to drop the steak knife in his hand. Martin did not comply.
The report said an NOPD officer on scene also instructed Martin to
drop the knife, but he wouldn't. Officers were able to take
Martin into custody after tasing him. After he was arrested, Martin
spit on one of the victims before being transferred to an an
area hospital, according to the report. |

Iowa man, convicted of killing one child, confessed to
fracturing another child's skull but won't be charged     An
Iowa man who admitted on video to killing his baby daughter and
fracturing another child's skull won't be charged for injuring the
second child he mentioned because the statute of limitations has
expired. Calvin White, 30, of Nevada was sentenced Monday to
50 years in prison for causing the death of his 2-month-old
daughter, Selena. White admitted to injuring another child of his from a previous relationship. "I gave that kid that skull fracture," he said in the video. But White will not face charges for injuring the child several years ago, police say. After recording the video, White threw himself in front of a train in an attempt to kill himself. Methamphetamine was found in his system. In the video, White says "I'm the reason she's dead" and says of his two young children: "I was just killing them slowly." White's wife, Melisa White said in court Monday that she believes Calvin slowly strangled or suffocated their two children, causing them to develop respiratory problems. All the while, she said, he played the part of a loving father: cooking, cleaning and caring for her and the children. |

Maryland Man Accused Of Stabbing, Disemboweling Dog HOWARD
CO., Md. (WJZ) — A 24-year-old Laurel man is behind bars after
police say he stabbed and disemboweled a dog last month. Omar
Beniah-Jovan Gertman has been charged with felony animal
cruelty, second-degree assault, and malicious destruction of
property. The Howard County Police Department reports this happened
on June 12, after officers were called to the 9600 block of Covered
Wagon Dr. when a woman called 911 to say a family member had just
stabbed their family dog. Animal Control officers were also called
to the scene, and helped transport the Yorkshire
Terrier, named Boo, to a local animal hospital.
Authorities say the dog was
disemboweled, and was not initially expected to
survive, but has recovered from his injuries. Police say Gertman,
who was later found at a hotel in a neighboring town, also
assaulted someone and destroyed a TV and coffee
maker. |

Suspect arrested after allegedly punching woman with brass
knuckles causing her to lose eye RACINE,
Wis. (CBS 58) -- A suspect has been arrested after police say he
punched a woman while wearing brass knuckles. Stephan Williams,
46, is facing charges of Felony Intimidation of a Victim, Battery
Causing Great Bodily Harm, and Disorderly Conduct. According to the
criminal complaint, Williams allegedly punched the victim in the
head near 16th and Memorial Drive back in May. The victim told
police that she was visiting friends when Williams allegedly accused
her of stealing money and told her that he'd kill her and her
whole family.The victim then attempted to get away from Williams but he allegedly followed. When she tried to leave the apartment building, Williams allegedly punched her in the left side of her face, causing her to drop to the ground from the pain. The victim believes Williams was wearing brass knuckles because he had then bragged about the incident. Medical records show that the victim's left eyeball had to be surgically removed as a result of the incident. |

Kan. (KSNW) - A Wichita man has pled guilty to child sex crimes.
Chauncey Maurice Walker, 47, of Wichita, pled guilty to one
count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and aggravated
indecent solicitation of a child. Court documents show the alleged
crime happened on or between May 22, 2012 and May 22, 2013. Walker
was employed at Lakeside Academy at the time of his arrest.
Previously he worked at Life Prep Academy in Wichita.Walker will be sentenced on August 29. |

Woman allegedly bit, robbed 67-year-old man in Toronto Toronto
police are trying to track down a woman who investigators allege
severely injured a 67-year-old man by biting him during a robbery
near Mount Dennis last week. A 39-year-old Toronto woman attempted
to rob a man on Sunday, July 15. During the robbery, police say the
woman bit the man, resulting in severe injuries. The man was taken
to hospital where he received 27 stitches. The suspect, who has been
identified by investigators as Shanta Ramessar,

man has been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of a
Vineland, New Jersey, woman who disappeared earlier this month.
Dennis Parish, 52, was arrested Thursday evening and charged
with the desecration and moving of human remains in the death of Tonya
Cook, 32, police said. Cook's body was found burned and
dismembered earlier this month by a passerby. Friends and family
held a vigil Thursday near Banks Road in Lawrence Township,
Cumberland County near the location where Cook's body was found, to
mourn her. |

license plates has reached its highest point in a decade. Data from
the Tennessee Department of Revenue shows that 3,273 of the license

VEGAS - Henderson police released the mugshot of 29-year-old Vernon
McClelland Jr. who is a suspect in the murder of Donna
McElfresh. The 84-year-old
was found shot and killed in an apartment fire in Henderson two
weeks ago. On July 6, at about 10:30 a.m., Henderson Police
and Fire responded to a structure fire at an apartment complex
located at 501 E. Lake Mead Parkway. Emergency responders
found McElfresh inside the burning apartment with apparent trauma to
her head and face. She was taken to St. Rose Dominican
Hospital – De Lima Campus where she died from her injuries.
McClelland was arrested on Tuesday, July 17 in Henderson without
incident, police said. There is an enhancement penalty on the murder

found dead in the first floor bedroom. An autopsy later revealed

discovered Booker was wanted in connection to a rape and stabbing in
Chicago, as well as a rape, shooting and car theft in Memphis,

Brooklyn teen accused of fatally shooting a
15-year-old boy and wounding a man has been held
without bail.Elijah Harris, 19, allegedly opened fire in the bustling courtyard of the Bushwick Houses on Wednesday afternoon. Ninth-grader Kyon Jackson was fatally wounded, while a 42-year-old man suffered a grazed cheek from a passing bullet. Jackson was rushed to Woodhull Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Prosecutor Wilfredo Cotto told Brooklyn Criminal Court Judge Margeurite Dougherty that Harris squeezed off multiple shots in the courtyard, “where civilians and children were present.” He also has an open gun case against him, Cotto added. |

- A naked man found in a Phoenix apartment was arrested after
assaulting a victim with a pipe. Phoenix police report that on July 13 about 9:15 p.m., a man and his friend entered an apartment near 24th and Washington streets. There they found 48-year-old Lorenzo Smith Jr. naked and touching himself. Police say Smith allegedly attacked one man with a metal pipe, striking him in the head. The victim fell to the ground when Smith reportedly hit him again with the pipe in the back. Smith then grabbed his clothes and ran. A police helicopter located Smith who was arrested nearby. Police found the victim on the ground bruised and bloodied. |

murderous ex-con was hit with 25 years to life Wednesday for the
1993 slaying of a beloved Chelsea social worker.Justice Melissa Jackson slapped killer Gordon Francis with the maximum sentence allowed. “The extensive brutality of your conduct on that night leaves me no other option,” the jurist told the 60-year-old Francis, who was convicted last month in Manhattan Supreme Court. The cold case thawed thanks to improved DNA testing of blood from the wounded murderer at the gruesome West 20th Street crime scene. He left a bloody trail through the apartment, down four flights of stairs and out the front door. His 50-year-old victim, James Hawkins, had been stabbed 25 times in the neck, chest and stomach, authorities said. According to the Gay City News, Francis took the stand at his trial and said he was a male escort in 1993 and Hawkins was a regular client. He said Hawkins was alive when he left the apartment. |

Men charged with imprisoning woman as sex slave appear in court DECATUR,
Ill. (WAND) - Two men accused of keeping a woman prisoner and using
her as a sex slave appeared in court Wednesday. 49-year-old
Anthony Bates and 31-year-old Ryan Bostick, both of Decatur,
pleaded not guilty to promoting prostitution and involuntary
servitude. Police said the victim was lured to a home in the 1600
block of North Warren St. by being offered a place to stay. Instead,
they said she was kept in a locked room. The woman told officers
Bostick gave her cocaine to keep her skinny, and Bates drove her
around Decatur to be used as a prostitute. She said they would also
make her perform sexual favors on them. She told police Bates forced
her to have sex with him in exchange for being able to get tampons.
The men held her prisoner for more than two weeks, she said. |

Independence mom charged after allegedly letting men rape her
2-year-old daughter KANSAS
CITY, Mo. — An Independence woman is now facing child abuse charges
after allegedly letting men rape her 2-year-old daughter. Azzie
Watson, 25, has been charged with three counts of child abuse
and one count of child endangerment in Jackson County. On June 29,
Kansas City police were called to a metro hospital in regard to a
reported rape. Officers were given a recording that Independence
police had obtained and, according to court documents, was made by
Waton’s boyfriend. In the recording, Watson admits to watching two
men rape her daughter and taking the little girl back to the
location of the crime approximately 10 times. Court documents say,
in the recording, she admits that her daughter was raped about five
times.Detectives told Watson her daughter tested positive for a sexually transmitted disease and also for meth in her system. Medical records also said there were foreign metallic objects found in both children’s feet. |

series of retail robberies using

Two women have been charged in connection to the death of a
one-year-old girl who fell through a hole in the floor of a Detroit
home and drowned in filthy water in the basement.
Ca'mya Davis died July 6 in the basement of the
family's home. The baby's mother, Dasiah Jordan, left
the house to get her hair done. She left her baby along with her
10-year-old in the care of babysitters who were on their way to the
home. The Wayne County Prosecutor filed involuntary
manslaughter charges against Jordan and also charged 28-year-old Tonya
Peterson with child abuse. Peterson shares the address with
the Jordan. During the time with no adults in the home, Ca'mya found
a hole in the floor which Jordan says is typically covered.
She was found in the basement of the home, which was filled with
garbage floating in filthy water at least six inches or maybe more. |

incident happened on the 900 block of East Hunting Park Avenue
around 2:51 a.m. Police say the suspect surprised the 21-year-old
man from behind while he was at his car and choked him until he lost
consciousness. According to police, the suspect stole the man’s
wallet that had $300 and left the scene in what police describe as a
dark-colored Dodge Challenger with a rear trunk spoiler. Police
describe the suspect as as a black male, 20 to 30 years of
age, with a thick beard, muscular build, wearing a light-colored cap

Unemployed Houston man wanted after allegedly shooting friend
who offered him a cleaning job HOUSTON,
Texas (KTRK) -- Police are searching for a gunman they say opened
fire on a friend who hired him to scrub graffiti off a building. The
Houston Police Department released a sketch of the man who is known
on the street as "man-man." Detectives say man-man was
hired in March to clean a building at 10805 Cullen at South Acres.But after he was hired for the job, the suspect allegedly pulled out a handgun and began shooting at his friend, the building's owner. The victim not only lost his right eye, he was left with broken ribs, a spinal fracture, a punctured right lung and a gunshot wound to the back of his neck as he tried to get out of harm's way. 'Mad Dog' kidnapper admits setting fire to victim   CHICAGO
(WLS) -- Three years after the ABC7 I-Team revealed terrifying
details of a home invasion, abduction, assault and lighter fluid
attack, Carleous Clay now says the allegations are all true.
With his trial date just days away, Clay, 35, pleaded guilty to
federal charges of kidnapping and attempted murder. He faces a
minimum of 10 years in prison and up to life behind bars. In
September 2015, Clay lived up to his nickname "Mad Dog" when
he twice ransacked a home in south suburban Lansing. On the second
occasion, a 53-year-old resident was home. Clay threatened the woman
with a hammer and kidnapped her, locking her in the trunk of her own
car, for a trip to her bank where he stole money from an ATM. Hours
of sexual assault, attempted strangulation and torture followed,
culminating with the woman's legs being doused with lighter fluid
and then he set her on fire. According to his plea agreement,
Clay admits that one reason he wanted to kill the suburban woman
"was to prevent her from reporting the kidnapping and other crimes"

Ohio — Ohio has put to death a killer sentenced to die for stabbing
and dismembering a man he met in a bar in 1985. The execution of Robert
Van Hook by lethal injection was carried out Wednesday at the
Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville. The time of death
was 10:44 a.m. The 58-year-old Van Hook was sentenced to die for
stabbing and strangling David Self
in Cincinnati. Prosecutors say Van Hook made a practice of
luring gay men to apartments to rob them. Van Hook
spent the morning meeting with Roman Catholic priests and friends.
This morning he performed a Buddhist chant with a
visiting friend and also took communion Tuesday night. Van
Hook has an extensive history of violence while incarcerated,
including stabbing a fellow death row inmate in November. Van

Monday that two people had been charged after a missing Arkansas
woman was found dead last week. Tacori Mackrell, 18, and Robert

Suspect bought water, then assaulted female employee at store,
police say FORT
WORTH - Police asked for help Tuesday to locate and identify a
suspect accused of beating a female store employee earlier this
month after purchasing water. Detectives released photographs of the
suspect in hopes that someone would recognize him and call police.
The assault occurred July 2 at a Valero gas station in the 6000
block of Hulen Street. A man walked into the gas station, purchased
a bottle of water and followed a female employee into a back storage
area. The suspect is described as an African-American man
about 5-feet-9 to 6-feet, weighing about 200 to 220 pounds with long

Tenn. — A Shelby County deputy jailer was arrested on Monday after
allegedly raping a 19-year-old
woman at a Cordova health spa last year. According to
prosecutors, Ryan Davis held a second job as a masseuse at
Serenity Day Spa. While giving the female victim a massage he
allegedly touched her inappropriately without her consent. She told
police he also made “lewd, unwanted comments” during the encounter.

Woman Armed With Stun Gun Robs Pregnant Philly Flower Shop
Worker, Flees in Uber Police
are searching for a woman accused of threatening a pregnant employee
inside a Philadelphia flower shop with a stun gun, robbing her and
then fleeing the scene in an Uber. "I was kind of in tears," Dashley
Hernandez said. "She knew I was pregnant. I was being nice to her
from the beginning." The unidentified woman entered the D&J
Flower shop on 1501 East Luzerne St. in the Juniata Park section of
the city Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and began asking Dashley
Hernandez, a store employee who is pregnant
with twins, about $300 flower arrangements.Police say the woman picked out an arrangement and asked Hernandez to order an Uber ride for her so that she could go to get money. After Hernandez ordered the Uber, the woman left the store. The woman then returned minutes later and demanded Hernandez order another Uber, police said. As Hernandez tried to order another one, the woman allegedly pulled out a stun gun and threatened to use it on her belly. "She brought out the taser, turned it on, and she was telling me, 'Give me this. Give me an Uber. Give me what I want. I'm going to kill ya'll,'" Hernandez said. The woman then stole $20 from the register, went into an Uber that was waiting outside and then fled the scene. |

sexual battery of child in Hall County. Robert Lewis Chandler
was arrested at his residence in the 2000 block of Memorial Park
Drive on Tuesday morning. He is accused of repeatedly molesting a
four-year-old female child between September 2017
and the time of arrest. He is charged with felony sexual battery. |

   HOUSTON,
Texas (KTRK) -- On Tuesday morning, authorities arrested the
recently-released parolee they say is connected to at least five
crimes in mid-July 2018. According to Houston police and the Harris
County Sheriff's Office, 46-year-old Jose Gilberto Rodriguez
was identified as the person connected to a home invasion, three
murders - one inside a Cypress home and two at area mattress stores
- and the robbery and shooting of a METROLift bus driver. Rodriguez
was captured in northwest Harris County after he was spotted in a
dark Nissan Sentra, a vehicle that belonged to one of the murder
victims. He initially led police on a chase before being captured.

street with bloody clothes. Barsegian's
fiance said that they had taken the alleged attacker, who
was a neighbor, into their home for a couple of weeks after
he was kicked out of his apartment. The (killer
black) neighbor, 18-year-old Tywaun Sims-Scott, was found
making threats with knives and bloody clothes in Ypsilanti on
Friday, leading police to Barsegian. Sims-Scott is now
expected back in court on July 5 on open murder charges. A

CITY (KOKH) — A man has been arrested on a warrant for 10 counts of
indecent or lewd acts with a child
under the age of 16. The Oklahoma City Police
Department confirms that Tyrone Wesley Jarmon, 23, has been
arrested on a warrant for the lewd acts complaints and two counts of
forcible oral sodomy. In April, several underage girls told
their family that they had been receiving text messages from Jarmon
that were reportedly lewd and sexual in nature. Several of the girls
then stated that Jarmon had sexually assaulted them in the past. A
warrant was then filed for the man's arrest. |

a man followed them asking sexually explicit questions and one said

39-year old Petree Anderson. ...the man was saying he wanted
to have sex with her. ..."He pulled his **** out or ***** out.

child GALVESTON,
Texas - A Galveston man was sentenced to 30 years in prison after he
was found guilty of continuously abusing a child sexually.
Kenneth Ray Mays was charged with a first-degree felony
offense of a child under the age of 14,
which carries a minimum of 25 years and a maximum of 99 years or
life in prison. A Galveston County jury sentenced Mays to 30 years
in prison.Mays' trial began on Monday in connection to charges of sexually abusing a family member. Jurors heard the child had been sexually assaulted in a Galveston apartment and in the city of La Marque where she lived, according to court documents. After a thorough investigation and multiple interviews, court documents stated the child was between the ages 5 and 8 years old when the abuse began. At the time of the interview, the child was 13 years old and told police about the abuse, according to court documents. |

would-be carjacker when vehicle didn't stop An
attempted carjacking turned into a homicide Sunday morning, killing
a 59-year-old woman in West Humboldt Park, police said. A 71-year-old
man, a 70-year-old woman and the 59-year-old woman
all were in a vehicle when a short, thin black man in his 20s
wearing a red hoodie walked up to the driver’s side of the
vehicle and pulled a gun on the driver in an attempt to steal the
vehicle, according to a statement from police. The man who was
driving continued on and the would-be carjacker began firing at the
back of the vehicle, police said. The 59-year-old woman was shot in
the back of the head. She was rushed to a hospital in critical
condition and later was pronounced dead. |

in Kansas City  KANSAS
CITY, Mo. -- Police say three officers shot in Kansas City on Sunday
are expected to survive, and the alleged gunman is dead after a
shootout with police. Investigators say that shooter was a suspect
in the recent killing of a UMKC student. Investigators say two
officers were initially shot when they encountered the suspect with
a rifle in the area of 40 Highway and Manchester. "At 12:15,
officers working an ongoing investigation at the Sky-Vu motel
involved undercover and tactical operations. Two officers were
shot there. Suspect fled in vehicle with one other party. The other
party is in custody," Kansas City Police Sergeant Jacob Becchina
said. As officers converged on the suspect who got away, there was a
standoff at 30th and Topping where there were three different
exchanges of gunfire. One more officer was struck and sent to the
hospital. Kansas City police say at about 1:15 p.m., the suspect
exited the home and exchanged gunfire with officers again and was
hit, KCFD personnel declared him deceased. |

girl under the age of 15, Arizona’s Maricopa County

paraplegic in his home. Police said that 31-year-old Johnnie
Thompson paid exotic dancers to perform at his Decatur home.

woman’s call for help from a convenience store, reporting that she’d
been kidnapped and sexually assaulted, led to the capture and arrest
of a Waterford man and two teenage males. Deputies responded after a
woman entered the convenience store, told a clerk she’d been
kidnapped and asked to use a phone. Her abductors stopped at
Triple R for gas, and she used the ruse that she needed to use the
restroom. The clerk provided a cordless phone to the woman, who
immediately locked herself in the store bathroom and called 911. She
provided a description of those who took her, and deputies detained
one adult and one teen male as they left the store. The males went
into the store when the victim failed to come out. The woman
reported that four males picked her up and held her against her

interracial couple after a video emerged of a child being kicked
several times. Investigators released the video on Friday. They
believe the incident happened on July 10 at the Russo Park
Playground. In the video, a little colored boy can be seen
kicking a little girl, as a (black) man separates them saying 'No
kicking!' An adult (white) woman then kicks the little boy twice,
saying 'No kicking! You want to kick? How do you feel?' A witness
said the woman was encouraging the kids to fight and was standing by
laughing. We do not know the relationship of the interracial couple
to the kids that were apparently victimized and abused. |
