Appeals court upholds conviction in horrific (black-on-White racist) Knoxville slayings
some of the black killersChannon Gail Christian and Christopher Newsom, Jr. KNOXVILLE - A state appeals court late Tuesday issued an opinion upholding the conviction and death sentence for the ringleader in one of Knoxville's most notorious crimes. The Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals in a 91-page opinion rejected every argument advanced by Lemaricus Davidson, who was sentenced to die in the January 2007 torture killings of Channon Christian, 21, and Christopher Newsom, 23. Davidson was tried in October 2009. Trial testimony showed Davidson orchestrated the initial carjacking of the couple, who were held captive at Davidson's Chipman Street house before their deaths, and DNA evidence linked him to repeated rapes of Christian. Of the four defendants charged and convicted in the case, Davidson was the only one to receive a death sentence. The appellate court, in the opinion authored by Judge James Curwood Witt Jr., ruled there was ample evidence to support all of Davidson's myriad convictions for the carjacking, kidnapping, rape and slayings of the couple. The court rejected claims by Davidson's defense team of bad rulings before trial, legal mistakes during the trial and constitutional issues involving the law itself. - (Black-on-white)

Resale of stolen iPhone led police to suspect in attack on Emanuel’s son
Zach EmanuelPhillip Payne A trail of online sales of Zach Emanuel’s stolen iPhone led the Chicago Police Department to one of the two suspects authorities say mugged Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s son in December near the family’s North Side home. The now-18-year-old man arrested in the attack and robbery — which occurred on a mid-December night across the street from the mayor’s heavily guarded house in Ravenswood — sold the phone online to another man who, in turn, sold it to a woman through Facebook, according to the police. “When the woman who bought the phone tried to activate it with her mobile provider, it didn’t work,” police spokesman Martin Maloney said. “She took it to a small retailer, who ran it through a database. The retailer saw it had been reported stolen, and they gave her the phone number it had been associated with.” The woman contacted Zach Emanuel, and “he connected her with police,” Maloney said. These new details about the case — from interviews, police reports and court records — have come to light as Phillip Payne is set to face trial Monday in Cook County juvenile court in the mugging. Normally, the police wouldn’t release the name of a juvenile charged with a crime. But Payne, who was 17 at the time of the attack on Emanuel’s son, turned 18 on Jan. 30. A week later, on Feb. 6, he was arrested as an adult for another crime: lying to the police about his identity, according to police reports and court records. - (Drudge)

  • NYPD cops badly beaten by pack of Hispanic thugs during arrest
Two cops patrolling a crime-ridden Brooklyn housing project were badly beaten by a group of men they tried to handcuff in a stairwell, police said. The attack happened as the unidentified housing cops were searching for a robbery suspect who was believed to be hiding in one of the buildings at the Marlboro Houses along West Eighth Street in Gravesend around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, authorities said. The police officers encountered the men hanging out in the stairwell near the third floor, authorities said. When the cops ordered the group to get up against a wall and attempted to cuff them, the men started beating the cops, who were quickly overpowered, sources said. The officers were repeatedly punched and kicked before the suspects ran off and left the beaten cops in the stairwell. One of the cops suffered head and neck injuries and his partner suffered a shoulder injury, authorities said. But even with their injuries, the officers managed to call for backup, and within minutes, a team of police officers were spread out through the building, hunting the assailants. Police soon arrested four suspects, who were identified as William Rivera Sr., 46, and his son William Rivera Jr., 26, Noel Gonzalez-Colon, 28, and David Rivera, 44. They were all charged with assault on a police officer, gang assault and resisting arrest. Rivera Jr. was additionally charged with robbery. “These brave officers were set upon by a group of thugs who have seriously assaulted police officers and attempted to take their weapons in the past,” said PBA president Patrick Lynch.

Only four years' jail for black thug who'll be out in two after he ended a vulnerable (White) man's life by punching him when he complained about a cyclist on pavement Lewis Gill
black attackAndrew YoungWith a single, vicious and unprovoked punch, a life is tragically ended. Andrew Young, 40, paid an appalling price for his good citizen act of challenging a cyclist who was riding on the pavement. The cyclist’s friend, a convicted robber, delivered the killer blow – yet could spend just two years behind bars. Mr Young’s mother yesterday described the sentence as an ‘absolute joke’. The shocking incident took place on a busy street in Bournemouth when Mr Young warned Victor Ibitoye that riding on the pavement was dangerous. When the conversation ended Lewis Gill, who was with Mr Ibitoye, punched Mr Young, taking him by surprise. Distressing CCTV footage shows the Asperger’s sufferer toppling back on to the road, violently striking his head. Gill, who has a conviction for handling stolen goods as well as robbery, then walks away, with a glance back at his motionless victim. - (UK) - (Black-on-white)

Wisconsin police officer fatally shoots (mixed-race) African-American teen, sparking protests
Tony RobinsonTony RobinsonSuspect and white motherAndrea IrwinProtests erupted in Wisconsin's capital overnight after a police officer fatally shot an African-American teenager who authorities said attacked him. The 19-year-old was shot after allegedly assaulting police who were responding to a scene at a Madison apartment Friday evening, said Mike Koval, the city's police chief. While the chief indicated the officer acted in self-defense, that didn't stop protesters from hitting the streets. Chief: Suspect 'assaulted my officer' The incident started when authorities got a call that a man suspected in a recent battery had gone to an apartment, Koval said. Shortly before that call, another one had come in, saying the same suspect was "jumping in and out of traffic, dodging cars," according to the police chief. When a responding officer went to the apartment, he heard some commotion and forced his way in, he said. "Once inside the home the subject involved in this incident -- the same one allegedly out in traffic and that had battered someone -- assaulted my officer," Koval said. After that, according to the chief, "The officer did draw his revolver and subsequently shot the subject."
