(Black) Man who raped, killed (White) Rosebud woman in 1974 dies while serving life sentence
Dewey Coleman(Peggy Harstad)BILLINGS - The Missouri hitchhiker, who kidnapped, raped and killed a Rosebud woman more than 40 years ago has died while serving out a life sentence. Dewey Coleman, 67, died Sunday at the Lewis Infirmary in Lewistown from natural causes, according to a press release from the Montana Department of Corrections. Coleman was serving a life sentence without parole for the death of Peggy Harstad, 21. On July 4, 1974, Harstad was driving home to Rosebud from a rodeo in Harlowton when she noticed two hitchhikers, Coleman and Robert Nank, on the side of the road. Harstad picked up the two men and was never seen again. Investigators determined that Coleman and Nank raped, beat, and drowned her in the Yellowstone River. Harstad’s body was found badly decomposed in the Yellowstone River. Nank confessed to the crimes, admitting to the rape, beating, and killing of Harstad. But Coleman denied any involvement. Coleman argued to the high court that he was not offered a plea agreement similar to his co-defendant because he was black and Nank was white. The court of appeals ruled in Coleman’s favor and his death sentence was commuted. Montana death records show that Nank died in 1999. - (Black-on-white)

There were appeals. An attempted prison break. An execution date stayed. A new sentencing trial. Then more appeals. As the wheels of justice churned, both of Craig’s parents passed away. A younger brother died from cancer. His wife died just last year. But now, after more than 24 years on death row, Gustavo Julian Garcia Jr. is scheduled to be executed Tuesday night.

Judge Harvey Bartle called it, “the most heinous crime he’s seen in his 25-years on the bench,” as he sentenced Salahudin Shaheed to more than 30-years, 365-months in prison.     CBS Confirms (black African - black Muslim) Machete Attack Suspect Was In United States On Green Card
Mohammad BarryCOLUMBUS, Ohio - CBS News has confirmed from the FBI that the man who attacked a Columbus restaurant Thursday with a machete was living in the United States on a green card. The motives for the attack by 30-year-old Mohamed Barry remain unclear but investigators are looking for possible ties to extremists. Not far from Nazareth Restaurant, one of the only two relatives Barry had in Columbus says he was sleeping, unware of the nearby attack. That was until FBI agents woke him up with a knock on his door and questions about his nephew and possible ties to terrorism. The relative, who only identified himself as Barry’s uncle, said Barry was a bit of a loner with a bit of a temper. "I know that when he gets mad he, that's why he wanted to be by himself,” he said. He said Barry was born in Guinea but that his family, including three sisters, lives in Philadelphia. His uncle said Barry lived with him while looking for a job when he first moved to Columbus from Philadelphia last fall. The uncle says he knew something wasn’t right when he received a strange text message from Barry just five hours before the attack. He says the message was in Arabic and English but didn’t understand the meaning. His uncle couldn’t show or read the text because he said the FBI now has his phone.

Accused Peter Gold shooter Euric Cain faces 6 rape charges in new indictment - he kidnaped and raped both a man and a woman
Euric CainNictoria WashingtonPeter GoldEuric Cain, whom New Orleans police said was caught on video shooting Tulane medical student Peter Gold two months ago, has been charged with six counts of first-degree rape in a new indictment by an Orleans Parish grand jury. Each count carries a mandatory life sentence upon conviction in Louisiana. The rape charges are derived from an incident New Orleans police say occurred less than 24 hours after Cain tried to murder Gold when the student intervened in the attempted kidnapping of a woman in the Lower Garden District on Nov. 20. The new charges are tied to accusations that Cain abducted a man and woman who were sitting in a parked car in Treme, forcing them to drive to the parking lot of an abandoned school in the Desire area, then robbing and raping both at gunpoint. The indictment also brought more bad news for Nictoria Washington, whom authorities have described as the 17-year-old girlfriend who helped harbor Cain.
