black African American suspect charged in deadly Tarrant shooting (of a White man)  A 58-year-old suspect has been charged in the Saturday-morning slaying of another man in Tarrant.Tarrant police on Sunday obtained a capital murder warrant for Andrew Adams. He is charged in the shooting death of Lee Crosby Tetter, 57. Police and medics responded to the 700 block of Bell Avenue about 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Once there, they found Tetter unresponsive in his vehicle and he was pronounced dead on the scene. Tarrant police detective Cpl. James Butterbrodt said Tetter’s slaying stemmed from some kind of argument between the two men. The killing is Tarrant’s first homicide in 2019. In all of Jefferson County, there have been 68 homicides. Adams is being transferred to the Jefferson County Jail where he will be held without bond. - (Black-on-white) | ||

Brown, a 30-year-old Duluth resident, appeared in court Friday to face charges related to a fatal hit-and-run collision that left Peter
Seppanen, a 30-year-old Esko man, dead Tuesday.Brown was charged with criminal vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a collision, a crime that could result in a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and/or a fine of $20,000. He also was charged with fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance and second-degree refusal to submit to a chemical test. At 6:54 p.m. Tuesday, law enforcement was dispatched to the scene of a collision at Horseshoe Bend on 40th Avenue West. There, they found Seppanen lying face-down and unconscious not far from a damaged motorcycle. Witnesses said Seppanen was traveling uphill on 40th Avenue West, when he was struck by a down-bound red Jeep that crossed the center line into his lane of traffic, tossing him into the air upon impact. A short while later, a vehicle of the same description was located at 52nd Avenue West. Brown was outside the vehicle attempting to change a flat tire. The Jeep had sustained front-end damage to the hood and windshield. Brown was taken into custody by the Minnesota State Patrol, and a criminal complaint said he was found to be in possession of 1.47 grams of marijuana. After smelling what seemed to be alcohol on Brown’s breath, Duluth police asked him to submit to a breath test, but he failed to provide a large enough sample, despite three separate attempts. In a police interview the following day, the complaint says Brown admitted to operating the vehicle at the time of the collision and confessed that he had been drinking prior to the incident. Brown also reportedly said he may have been looking at his phone and took a turn too wide. He said he never saw the motorcycle until the collision occurred. Following the impact, Brown told police he continued to drive to the bottom of the hill, where he stopped to change a flat tire. Brown lost his license once before in January of 2018 for impaired driving and had a prior controlled substance conviction in Cook County, Ill. - (Black-on-white) | ||

Aurora man described as a drug dealer was sentenced Thursday to 58 years in prison for fatally shooting another man during a party at Cherry Creek State Park two years ago.Joseph Wayne Washington, 31, was sentenced for the Aug, 13, 2017 death of 26-year-old Jackson Lee Chavez. In March, a jury found Washington guilty of second-degree murder. The jury also found Washington guilty of witness tampering and numerous counts of possession of drugs with the intent to distribute. Chavez was at a barbeque and got into an fight with another man. Washington witnessed this then got a gun from his backpack and shot Chavez twice. After the murder, Washington ran from the scene, ditched his vehicle, got rid of the gun and made plans to leave town. Investigators from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office interviewed witnesses, tracked Washington down and arrested him. Members of Chavez’s family addressed the court during sentencing. “I see (Jackson’s) neck and his chest, knowing that two different bullets shattered every major organ in his body. I imagine how he looked contorting and writhing in pain as he gasped for air and choked on his own blood. And I wonder how his face looked as he died. - (Black-on-white) | ||

Police say a 93-year-old man was getting coffee with his wife around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday when the suspect allegedly attacked the man from behind, knocked him to the ground and stole his wallet. The assault and robbery occurred at the convenience store at 333 E. 14th Street in San Leandro. A 7-eleven employee told KRON4 the victim is a regular customer at the store. "Mr. Frank comes in everyday for coffee. So it is really sad that something like this would happen," said Yolanda Rodriguez. "He is a loving caring person. He reminds me of my grandpa. Super sharp. We even got a secret hand shake. That's how cool he is with us at this store," she said. Police say they have surveillance video of the assault and were able to track down the suspect's car because of the video. The suspect, identified as 48-year-old Carla Ashford, confessed to officers after being detained, according to police. "48-years-old. Her name is Carla Ashford. Oakland resident. The men took the victims’ phones and wallets before fleeing the area.One of the suspects is described as a black male, between the ages of 17 and 18, 5-foot-10, 130 to 140 pounds with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. The second suspect is described as a black male, about 20 years old, 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds. (WSMV) - Officers responded to a call Wednesday about a man walking down the street in Nashville naked from the waist down. Thomas Harrell, 43, was approached by police on 3rd Avenue South near Broadway allegedly with no pants or underwear on, according to officials. Court papers say Harrell strongly smelled of alcohol and had blood shot, watery eyes. Officers considered Harrell as a danger to himself and the community. City — A 14-year Detroit police veteran, described by her chief as "our hero" was killed during a domestic incident, chief James Craig said Monday. Sgt. Rodriguez Palacios’s blood alcohol content was determined to be .239 percent, Salem police said. Rodriguez Palacios, 25, of Salem was later arrested and booked into the Marion County Correctional Facility on accusations of first-degree manslaughter, driving under the influence, third-degree assault, reckless endangering and reckless driving. Rodriguez Palacios was involved in another drunken driving incident in June 2015. COUNTY, SC (WCIV) — Charleston County Sheriff's detectives, along with United States Marshals, arrested two suspects for the March kidnapping and sexual assault of a 14-year-old female.19-year-old Denzell Xavier Furlow and 17-year-old Davionne Allen Towns were arrested Wednesday. The victim reported that she was abducted on March 22 from a bus stop on Hitching Post Road in the Ponderosa subdivision in West Ashley. According to an affidavit, the victim's parent reported to the Charleston County Sheriffs Office that she was missing and had not reported to school. The victim was located the following day at a business complex on Savannah Highway , and told detectives she had been taken from the bus stop by three black males. She said she was then taken to the incident location and sexually assaulted at gunpoint by the defendant and two other black males. Court documents state the victim was shown a six person photographic lineup and positively identified the suspects. Detectives were then able to obtain arrest warrants for the suspects. | ||

Another appeared to be the lookout. She was seen in the video pulling something out of her pocket as an employee carrying a box began to approach. The woman aimed and sprayed a cloud of what investigators said was mace directly into the employee's face to buy more time. Back behind the counter, another person climbed over, knocking down mannequin heads on her way up. The hair snatching got more intense before the trio ran for the exit. "When the girls are coming, I try to stop them right here," said Jesus Gonzalez, employee. Gonzalez tried to step in. "That's when she attacked me. She sprayed the pepper spray in my face. She scratched my face too," said Gonzalez. One by one, Gonzalez tried to stop the three suspects, scuffling with the last one on her way out. "My face burned like, very bad, like, so bad," said Gonzalez. Store officials said the women made off with $1,000 worth of hair weaves. Gonzalez said the heist was fast. "We couldn't do anything when she sprayed my face," said Gonzalez. Investigators were only able to identify one of the brazen thieves. Prosecutors said Shaherah Edwards admitted to having mace and throwing the can at Gonzalez, who was still shaken by the encounter when FOX6 spoke with him Wednesday, May 29, more than a month later. | ||

DIEGO -- Police Wednesday identified the man killed in a shootout with border officers near the San Ysidro Port of Entry and released new details about the deadly gun battle.Travis James Eckstein, a 23-year-old US citizen, was identified as the gunman. Eckstein had two people in his truck at the time of his deadly shootout with Customs and Border Protection officers, San Diego Police Department revealed. The two passengers were interviewed and eventually turned over to CBP officers. Both were Chinese citizens, according to CBP officials. Eckstein was driving into the US from Mexico when he refused to stop for CBP Monday around 7:45 p.m., according to SDPD. He rammed into another vehicle as he tried to escape but got blocked in. That's when officers say Eckstein opened fire. "The suspect began firing a gun out of his vehicle towards the officers, then exited his vehicle and continued firing at the officers," San Diego police Lt. Matt Dobbs said. Ala. (WIAT) -- The Sylacauga Police Department announces the arrest of Owen Ladon Wallace, for manslaughter, in the death of 17-year-old, Casey Nicole Kizer of Hoover, Alabama. Wallace is a 24-year-old male from the Odena area of Talladega County. Wallace was arrested on June 1, 2019, by Shelby County Sheriff’s Department and transported to the Talladega County Jail. Wallace is being held on a $25,000.00 bond.On July 25, 2018, Kizer and a group of friends went to Fleetwood Metal, in Sylacauga, to meet with Wallace who worked at the business. An altercation occurred at the location between Wallace and a male in the victim’s vehicle leading to the gunshot. The victim, Kizer, was transported to Coosa Valley Medical Center by said group of friends, in their personal vehicle, where she later died from her injuries. The crime of manslaughter is a Class B Felony. A Class B Felony is punishable by not more than 20 years or less than 2 years in prison. This case is still an active investigation. They then stalked her for the next hour, following her into a nearby Subway sandwich shop, where she’d run for cover, and finally into a Dunkin’ Donuts. There, Brown plunged a steak knife into Schwab’s heart and lungs and left her bleeding on the floor, where she’d spend her last conscious seconds on Earth clutching an employee’s hand after telling her she was just trying to get her house keys back. The death rocked the typically peaceful Westchester enclave and renewed a discussion on the impact (nigger) bullying has in and out of the classroom, as two more stabbings happened in the days after her death that were both related to bullying. Dominique Slack, 18, and Carl Booker, 18, were both charged with gang assault and stalking in relation to the murder and pleaded guilty to stalking in the first degree earlier this year. – The father of a young boy who was found dead and encased in concrete in a Denver storage shed in December has been charged with first-degree murder in the case, accused of abusing the boy and keeping him inside of a dog kennel, the Denver District Attorney's Office announced Thursday.Leland Pankey, 39, also was charged with felony charges of child abuse resulting in death and tampering with a deceased human. The couple and their two children had moved into the hotel in May 2018, and Leland Pankey watched the children while Elisha Pankey went to work, she told investigators. Elisha Pankey said Caden died in July 2018 after his father kept him in a dog kennel, the affidavit said. A woman who had been in the Arapahoe County Jail with Elisha Pankey in December said Pankey told her that she believed her son suffocated in the dog kennel. Caden had been malnourished and had cocaine metabolite and methamphetamine in his system. The boy also had numerous injuries to his head, torso and extremities, according to the autopsy. Derrick Allen McIlwain, 41, is wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for aggravated domestic violence, according to a Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office release. Kimberly Alger, 36, whose body was discovered outside a vacant Rich Hill home Tuesday, was the victim in the domestic-violence incident a few days earlier. Alger’s death is being treated as a homicide, and the investigation is continuing. McIlwain, of 930 Dickens Road, Heath Springs, also has an outstanding warrant with the Lancaster Police Department for shoplifting. As recently as April 24, Alger listed the same Dickens Road address, according to public records. McIlwain drives a 2006 Nissan Altima, which could have a paper tag or an S.C. tag reading 8690LF, according to the release. McIlwain is known to possess firearms and should be considered armed and dangerous. Police reports say Price has been HIV positive since at least December 2010, but he didn't tell the woman. Now, Springfield Police say they have a total of seven reports against him. "We ended up, you know, with about 30 folks coming in to get tested that commented that they were connected with him or they were connected with someone who had contact with him, sexual contact with him," says APO executive director Lynne Meyerkord. She refused but he got out of the vehicle and forced her into the car. The suspect took the woman to a park in north Amarillo and raped her. Then, the victim said he asked where she wanted to go and she told him to drop her off at the restaurant in the 3800 block of Amarillo Boulevard East. Through their investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Jermaine Earl Patterson, 35. Patterson was arrested for aggravated sexual assault and aggravated kidnapping, both first-degree felonies, and booked into the Potter County Detention Center. | ||

Hawkes fled the area with the woman’s purse, umbrella and other belongings, according to police. “She pulled the knife out – he was able to disarm her and stabbed her once in the right arm,” Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said. One of the robberies took place along the 200 block of Bayard Road on May 11. In that case, Hawkes attacked a 94-year-old woman who lived nearby and stole her purse, police say. |

Man arrested for raping woman at Murray massage businessMURRAY, Utah (ABC4 News) - A 26-year-old West Valley City man has been charged for allegedly raping a woman at a massage business in Murray. The victim was at a friend's massage business on January 15 when Jose Santiago Tejeda came in and asked for a massage. The woman told him she did not work there and could not give him a massage, but he convinced her to go into a room inside the business. When the woman entered the room, Tejeda shut and locked the door behind him and would not let her leave. He told the woman if she screamed he would kill her and struck her in the face and strangled her to the point of unconsciousness, documents state. When the woman awoke, she was completely undressed and Tejeda had removed all his clothing. The woman said she knew she had been raped and started screaming for help, charging documents state. Employees inside the business heard the woman screaming and started banging on the door to the room. Trejeda opened the door and ran out of the room while pulling up his pants. Officers observed broken blood vessels around the woman's neck and bruising and redness on both arms. The woman was taken to the hospital where a DNA test was conducted from the woman's neck wounds. A positive match came back to Tejeda who had an active warrant for failing to appear on a traffic citation. Video surveillance from the business was obtained that showed Tejeda entering and leaving the business while pulling up his pants and no shirt on. Officers interviewed Tejeda, and when they showed him the surveillance footage, he immediately requested an attorney. |
