(Black) Virginia State student charged in shooting death of fellow student
CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) - A Virginia State University student has been charged with the shooting death of a fellow student at the university.
On Dec. 5, shortly before 8 p.m., Chesterfield police were called to University Apartments at Ettrick.
At the scene, officers found VSU student Daniel N. Wharton, 19, of Alexandria, with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died. Isaac K. Amissah Jr., 21, a VSU student living at the apartments, turned himself into police. Amissah is charged with murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. (Promiscuous Black) Chicago police officer charged with murder of mother of his child in shooting
A Chicago police officer was arrested and charged with murder after the mother of one of his children was found shot dead inside her home last week, according to reports.
Pierre Tyler is charged with first degree murder in the death of Andris B. Wofford. Both 29-year-olds were in a dating relationship and shared a nine-month-old child, Cook County prosecutors said. Judge Charles Beach denied bond for Tyler during his first court appearance Saturday. Chicago police responded to the 2100 block of North Nashville Avenue at 10:10 a.m. on Thursday to perform a wellness check. Upon arrival, officers found the woman inside the front door of the apartment with a fatal gunshot wound to the head, WLS-TV reported. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Wofford’s death a homicide Friday. During Saturday’s hearing, prosecutors outlined how Wofford had told family members she planned to confront Tyler earlier in the week. During their relationship, Tyler also had a child with a different woman and Wofford mistakenly believed he secretly married her. Wofford learned on Dec. 5 that Tyler had a "pending child support case" with the mother of his other child, Cook County assistant prosecutor Craig Engebretson said, according to the Chicago Tribune. By Dec. 8, surveillance cameras captured Tyler walking into Wofford’s home. A neighbor reported to investigators hearing the two begin quarreling around 7 p.m. followed later by a "loud muffled bang" around 8:30 or 9 p.m. when the yelling immediately stopped. At 9:01 p.m., video shows the front door slightly opening and then "abruptly shutting," Engebretson said, and Tyler is caught on camera leaving out the back door a minute later. The prosecutor said video shows Tyler wearing what appeared to be a handgun in a holster on his back and carrying the same "distinct keychain" Wofford was seen using earlier in the day. |
Howard County Police identify (BLACK) gunman (with negro name), ex-wife AND ex-girlfriend killed in apparent double murder-suicide
Howard County Police identified two of the three individuals who were killed in an apparent double murder-suicide that spanned from Federal Hill to Columbia on Saturday.
Police said Rajaee Shareef Black, 44, fatally shot his ex-girlfriend, who authorities have not yet named, inside a home in South Baltimore. He then traveled to Columbia and gunned down his ex-wife, Wendy Natalie Black, 42. In a Facebook Live video taken between the killings, Black, who is from the 7600 block of Ironworks Way in Hanover, stood outside an apartment building in Columbia’s Kings Contrivance neighborhood where he says he’s upset about custody issues with both women. “Anyway, I just did something crazy, man. I just shot my ex-girlfriend in the head,” he says. “Felt like a dream. I never thought I would be that guy. I can’t go to prison, so the person that really started my depression and all of this is my ex-wife. So, she next. Then I’m going to do myself too.” In that moment, Wendy Black, opens the door. “Oh, there’s my ex-wife right now,” he says. Then, the video cuts off. (Black) Man wanted, (white) woman in custody in connection to 64-year-old man shot multiple times in Irondale
IRONDALE, Ala. (WBRC) - A 64-year-old man was shot multiple times Wednesday morning during an attempted carjacking according to Irondale Police.
The victim was taken to UAB Hospital with life threatening injuries.
Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the scene. The agencies included Trussville Police, Irondale Police, Birmingham Police and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. The investigation was started by Irondale Police Department due to the Shell station being in their jurisdiction. While Irondale Police Officers were conducting their investigation, information was discovered that the events may have begun in Trussville. Trussville’s Criminal Investigations Division worked along with Irondale Investigators to continue gathering information. The investigation led to the identities of two suspects, Alfred Lewis Logan, 42, and Lindsey Nicole Calton, 37, both from North Carolina. Investigators obtained felony warrants through the Jefferson County DA’s Office for Robbery 1st degree, Kidnapping 1st degree and Assault 1st degree on both Alfred Logan and Lindsey Calton. Law Enforcement Officers were able to locate Lindsey Calton and she is currently in custody. Alfred Lewis Logan remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous. |

(Black) Man arrested for murder after 17-year-old boy shot Sunday night; Birmingham’s 6th homicide of the weekend
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy Sunday night in the city’s sixth homicide of the weekend.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as David Desmond.
According to BPD, officers were called to the 400 block of Fulton Ave. Southwest on reports of a person shot. They arrived to find Desmond shot dead in the road. After investigation, they learned a suspect was seen running from the area to a nearby home. Officers surrounded the home and were able to take the person into custody. Police say they obtained a murder warrant for 24-year-old Daminyae Montreze Harris. Harris was arrested and is being held in the custody of Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on $150,000 bond. |
(Black) 22-year-old suspect wanted in weekend homicide
ANNISTON, Ala. (WBRC) - The Anniston Police Department is searching for a 22-year-old suspect in connection to the shooting death of a man Saturday night.
According to Anniston Police, around 1:00 p.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 900 block of Woodland Court. They arrived to find 33-year-old Christian Trammell lying in the road, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to MEARMC where he later died. Officials have identified 22-year-old Kenton Lawson as a suspect in the case. Lawson has been charged with murder and remains at large. APD considers Lawson armed and dangerous. (Black) Louisiana double homicide suspect surrenders to Texas authorities
MESQUITE, Texas (KSLA) — The suspect in a double homicide in Louisiana has surrendered to authorities in Texas.
Jamarcus J. Richardson turned himself in the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 8, according to police in Mesquite, Texas.
Authorities there say the 31-year-old walked into police headquarters with his parents about 6 p.m. He was booked into the Dallas County Jail at around 8:30 p.m. Richardson is wanted by Shreveport police on two counts of first-degree murder. He’s accused of killing 41-year-olds Teola Booker and D’Angelo Hinton. They were found dead in a vehicle Monday, Dec. 6. Officers were summoned just before 12:45 a.m. that day to check out gunfire around Miles Street and Broadway Avenue in the city’s Mooretown neighborhood. Police later found the bodies of the man and woman in a vehicle in a vacant lot. Both had been shot multiple times. Shreveport Police Department later identified Richardson as a suspect. A warrant was issued for his arrest on two counts of second-degree murder. |
(Black) Gulfport, MS man pleads ‘not guilty’ to 2009 cold case homicide in Alexandria
ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - A Gulfport, Mississippi man, arrested back in June for a May 2009 cold case homicide, has pleaded “not guilty” to second-degree murder.
O’Neil Wesley, 32, also had his $500,000 bond reduced to $200,000 by Judge Mary Doggett. There are some rules, however, if he manages to post bond. Wesley can’t leave the state of Mississippi unless it’s for work, he can’t have a gun, he must refrain from criminal conduct and he must show up for court appearances. Wesley’s attorney said at a preview court hearing that his client held a job in Mississippi. The state objected to the bond reduction. Alexandria police said when Wesley was 19-years-old and living in Alexandria, he was watching over a three-year-old in the foster care system for the day when the child died. This year, APD Det. Tanner Dryden took a closer look at the case and re-interviewed Wesley. At a September 2021 hearing, Det. Dryden said Wesley told him that he may have hit the girl and testified “he (Wesley) intended to knee the child in the stomach.” |

A Louisiana high school student attacked a disabled teacher in a suspected TikTok challenge, hitting her several times and knocking her from her wheelchair, according to police and shocking video.
Larrianna "LATRINA" Jackson, an 18-year-old student at Covington High School, was arrested Wednesday on felony battery of a school teacher after the unprovoked attack that cops say may have been prompted by TikTok’s “slap a teacher” challenge — which the platform denies is a trend. Video obtained by WVUE shows Jackson assaulting the 64-year-old teacher in her wheelchair at least four times before hurling her to the ground. Larrianna Jackson, an 18-year-old student at Covington High School, was arrested. Another student in the classroom shot the footage, police said, and the teacher is heard screaming during the attack that occurred just after class let out. Texas woman was arriving home when three Black men approached and tried to rob her.
She shot and killed one
A Houston woman shot and killed a man during a Sunday morning alleged robbery attempt that authorities believe may have been drug-related, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 15500 block of Fair Elm Court in reference to a male being shot, the sheriff’s office said in a statement to Fox News.
Arriving deputies discovered a Black male in the roadway dead of gunshot wounds. It was determined he had been shot during an attempted robbery attempt of a resident in the neighborhood. The sheriff’s office said a woman was arriving home when three Black men approached and tried to rob her. The woman shot and killed one of the suspects while the other two fled the scene in a white, four-door sedan. The sheriff’s office described the two suspects who fled as Black, with an average height and build. The woman’s boyfriend exited the house and attempted to chase after the fleeing suspects, the sheriff’s office said. The woman and her boyfriend provided statements to the homicide division. They are not expected to face charges in the shooting. |

Police identify woman killed in shooting in north Springfield; (Black) facing charges
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Police identified a woman found dead from a gunshot wound at a home in north Springfield on Monday.
Lavona R. Haddock, 61, of Springfield died in the incident. The Greene County prosecutor charged Lilburn W. Motley, 66, of Springfield, with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the case.
Investigators responded to the shooting in the 2000 block of North Marion around 3:30 p.m. Monday. Police arrested Motley at the scene of the deadly shooting. Investigators say Motley told officers he shot his girlfriend of 37 years to “shut her up.” A witness in the home described as the couple’s son-in-law says they were arguing, a common occurrence, according to his statement, when he heard the gun go off. Motley told investigators that he was cleaning his gun and it accidentally went off hitting Haddock. However, Motley’s son-in-law told police he hasn’t seen him clean the gun in months. Officers also say the weapon did not appear to be recently cleaned or oiled. Additionally, Motley was convicted of a felony crime in 1986 and was not permitted to own a firearm. If convicted of first-degree murder Motley could face up to 30 years in prison. A conviction of armed criminal action carries an additional sentence of up to seven years. DNA of (black) suspect in killing of (Black) Selma police officer found on shell casings at scene 
The capital murder case against a 22-year-old man charged in the summer shooting death of a Selma police officer will go to a grand jury for indictment consideration, a judge ruled Friday.
Andrevious Quinton Carter is charged with capital murder in the July 27 slaying of 25-year-old Officer Marquis Moorer, who died in a hail of rifle fire at his apartment while he was on duty and home on a meal break. Carter is one of two suspects charged in the shooting which not only killed Moorer but also wounded his girlfriend, Shakiaria Barley. Dallas County Judge Collins Pettaway on Friday bound the case over to the grand jury and ordered Carter to remain held without bail saying, Carter’s “DNA was found on shell casings at the scene with no plausible explanation.” Carter was arrested in late October. Javonte Cornuis Stubbs, an 18-year-old former Selma High School football "standout", was arrested and charged the day after Moorer was killed. The shooting happened at 4:10 a.m. that Tuesday when Moorer stopped by his apartment at Selma Square Apartments. Authorities have not released a motive in the slaying, but Jackson described the shooting as an “ambush.” More than a dozen rifle rounds were fired into the apartment. Authorities said Moorer was found in his bedroom with a gunshot wound to the chest. |
(Black) Akron man receives life sentence for rape
AKRON, Ohio — An Akron man was sentenced to life in prison Thursday after he pleaded guilty to the 2019 rape of a woman.
James Walters, 46, will be eligible for parole after 10 years, Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh said in a news release. Walters pleaded guilty to a charge of rape with a sexually violent predator specification.
Walsh said Walters was declared a sexually violent predator because of his sexual assault of another woman in 2001. Summit County Judge Susan Baker Rossalso also designated Walters a Tier III sex offender, meaning Walters will have to register with the local sheriff every 90 days for the rest of his life if released from prison. According to prosecutors, in April 2019 Walters convinced the then 27-year-old victim to go back to his house. While the two were at the house, Walters became aggressive, prosecutors say. The woman tried to escape through a bathroom window, but Walters broke into the bathroom, grabbed the woman and raped her. The woman eventually ran out of the home and was taken to Akron General Medical Center, where nurses gathered evidence for a sexual assault kit. Bail was set Monday at $5 million for a Glendale Heights man accused of sexually assaulting
a 92-year-old woman last month in her Addison home.
Anthony Lane, 53, of the 2200 block of Century Point Lane, would need to post $500,000 to go free while awaiting trial, according to DuPage County court records.
DuPage County Judge Ann O'Hallaren Walsh denied a prosecutor's request that Lane be held without bail. Lane is charged with one count of home invasion -- sexual offense and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault -- victim 60 or older. Prosecutors told Walsh that the woman was returning home from a kidney dialysis treatment at 6:39 p.m. Nov. 22 when she turned to close the garage door and saw someone later identified as Lane standing in the doorway. She tried to close the door to her home, but the man forced it open and pushed her inside, prosecutors say. (Black female) Squatter in The Villages freed on theft charge and disappears again 
(Florida) -- A woman arrested while squatting at a home in The Villages has been freed on a theft charge but now the court can’t find her.
Anisa Ebony Trychta, 34, was released last month from the Sumter County Detention Center after she was sentenced to time served on a theft charge. Sumter County Court Clerk officials attempted to mail follow-up documentation to Trychta, but last week the letter was returned as “undeliverable.”
Trychta, who has a long criminal history, was arrested on a probation violation Oct. 7 at an abandoned home at 718 Santa Fe St. in the Village of Polo Ridge. The abandoned house has been a source of strife for neighbors and their anxiety levels increased when the squatters moved in and began stealing water from their spigots. The previous owners are dead and the ownership of the property is in limbo. The water and utilities have been shut off. Community Development District 3 is currently mowing the grass. Deed compliance fines have reached $1,500. While Trychta was being held in jail on the probation violation, it was learned that Wildwood police were looking for her in connection with the theft of a laptop from a pawn shop. At the time of the theft, she was reportedly accompanied by her 12-year-old daughter. |
(Black female) Phoenix Police officer resigns after alleged COVID-19 relief funds scheme 
PHOENIX - A former Phoenix Police officer has been arrested on federal charges in connection to a fraud scheme.
Toni Richardson is accused of submitting a fraudulent application to the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), a federal COVID-19 financial lifeline for businesses, and obtaining nearly $1.3 million in federal loans from the CARES Act.
The indictment shows Richardson and another defendant, Willie Mitchell, applied for the funds on behalf of the "Lotto Club," an alleged nonprofit charity for veterans, saying they needed it to keep the business going. Unruly (Black) passenger arrested following altercation with flight attendant, U.S. air marshal, police say 
A Delta Air Lines flight headed to LAX from Washington D.C. had to be diverted after authorities say an unruly passenger became involved in an altercation with a flight attendant and a U.S. air marshal Thursday.
It was unclear what prompted the incident, but at some point during the flight, a male passenger became upset and allegedly assaulted the flight attendant, Oklahoma City Police Department Capt. Arthur Gregory confirmed. The air marshal intervened and had the passenger in custody when the flight, which had to be diverted to Oklahoma City, landed at Will Rogers World Airport, Gregory said. Oklahoma City police officers escorted the suspect off the plane and detained him until the FBI arrived to question him. The suspect was later identified as 35-year-old Ariel Pennington. MEXICAN NATIONAL serial rapist Jose Manuel Martinez Garcia charged after brutal attacks 
An alleged serial rapist in California is now accused of sexually assaulting six women and trying to kill four of them.
Jose Manuel Martinez Garcia, 36, was hit with 14 counts in connection with a series of brutal attacks in the Coachella Valley area that began last summer, officials announced Thursday.
Garcia, a Mexican national, faces four attempted murder charges after he allegedly strangled three women to unconsciousness and hit two of them with his truck. One of those victims broke her leg and was left in a ditch for days before being found and treated, according to prosecutors. He was arrested for several of the crimes in October and was being held without bail as officials discovered new victims and updated the charges Friday, the release said. BLACK Bensalem High School Teaching Assistant Charged With Sex Abuse After Messaging Young Girls 
BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) — A Bensalem High School teaching assistant is behind bars, charged with sending sexually explicit texts and photographs to young girls, as well as asking for oral sex. Police say 27-year-old Donnie Reed, of Philadelphia, was arrested Thursday.
Officials say they are continuing the cry of warning teenagers and parents of the potential dangers of social media. They say one of the scariest things about this case was the suspect had so much access. On Thursday, investigators arrested and charged Reed on several counts, including unlawful contact with a minor. Detectives say the 27-year-old, who also worked as a football and girls’ basketball and track coach, had contact with at least six girls. “He also was explicit and very graphic in what he wanted to do to these 13, 14, 15-year-old girls over the period of what we found out was happening over a couple years,” Harran said.

Georgia city wrestles with future of 'Old South' restaurant
Once, it was one of the most popular restaurants south of the Mason-Dixon. Now it languishes on the edge of downtown Smyrna almost forgotten, a subtle reminder of a more racist past.
Aunt Fanny’s Cabin attracted diners for decades. People traveled to Smyrna from around the world for the restaurant’s famous southern cooking. But Aunt Fanny’s Cabin gained infamy for using derogatory depictions of Black people to entertain dinner guests.
Hundreds of autographed photos signed by celebrity guests lined the walls near the front door. From sports icons Jack Dempsey and Ty Cobb to Hollywood luminaries like Doris Day and famed Atlanta entertainer Nipsey Russell, the guest list at Aunt Fanny’s Cabin was star-studded. It was such a favorite of former President Jimmy Carter that he made the cabin a tour stop on his presidential campaigns. According to news reports, Black youths hired as servers wore wooden menu boards around their necks and danced on table tops, and the walls had framed advertisements for slaves. The restaurant's namesake, Fanny Williams, sat on the front porch in a faded dress and headwrap telling customers about her days as a slave, though she never was a slave, according to the AJC. TAMPA — Hillsborough sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man on charges he raped a woman in her 70s who was taking her daily walk in a north Tampa neighborhood.
Ron Smith, 42, was arrested Thursday on charges of armed false imprisonment, robbery with a deadly weapon and two counts of sexual battery with a deadly weapon.
The attack occurred at 9 a.m. Nov. 27 near the intersection of Central Avenue and Celestial Oaks Drive, off Interstate 275 north of Fletcher Avenue. The woman is in her 70s, said Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister, and was out on a morning walk — something she’d done daily for 40 years. Chronister said Smith approached the woman and asked her for money and cigarettes. She told him she had neither and continued her walk. Smith returned shortly after, claimed he had a knife and overpowered the woman. He covered her nose and mouth and assaulted her on the side of the road. The Sheriff’s Office said the area is not heavily traveled by vehicles. The attack continued for about 15 minutes, the woman told deputies. Smith fled and the woman called 911, Chronister said. Investigators received DNA samples from the woman and submitted them to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The tests identified Smith as the man responsible for the attack, Chronister said. Smith, who the Sheriff’s Office says is homeless, was located days later walking on the 4300 block of N Florida Ave. He was arrested there Thursday afternoon. Deputies say Smith also goes by the name Stephen D. Smith and has a criminal record in New York, Texas and Pennsylvania. He was also arrested earlier this month by Tampa police and accused of robbing a woman of her purse and cellphone at Julian B. Lane Waterfront Park, Chronister said. |

He told investigators, according to arrest records, that it was Kevon Nathaniel Turner, a man he’d known since middle school. But new information that came to light since Nov. 16, when Turner was arrested on a second-degree murder charge, pointed to a different man.
On Wednesday, prosecutors dropped the charge against Turner, 26, and St. Petersburg police arrested Dontavis Burgess, 26, on the same charge. A detective wrote that he “obtained a video” of Burgess admitting to the Nov. 15 shooting. Burgess’ arrest report gave few details. He was riding in the passenger seat of a red Mazda 3. The name of the driver was redacted from the report. They drove to a house, the address of which was also redacted, although police initially said McNeil was shot outside near 3110 47th Ave. S. Mistrial Declared in Murder Case After Some Jurors Admit Knowing Slain Woman Was Pregnant
An Indiana judge declared a mistrial on Wednesday in the case for one of the men charged in the 2015 fatal shooting of Amanda Balckburn after discovering some jurors knew of her pregnancy even though they weren't supposed to.
During the first day in a murder trial of Larry Jo Taylor Jr., Marion County Judge Grant Hawkins said he questioned the jurors on what they knew about the case. During questioning, he discovered that multiple jurors had learned that "Ms. Blackburn was pregnant at the time of her death," he told the Indianapolis Star. The defense had previously won to keep the fact from jurors that Blackburn was 12 weeks pregnant with her second child at the time of the murder. Since more than one juror knew the information, Hawkins declared a mistrial. The court will have a new jury moving forward. Blackburn, 28, was married to a pastor, Davey Blackburn. She was shot and killed on November 10, 2015, during a home invasion in Indianapolis. The Indy Star reported the suspects saw her husband leave their home before they entered the residence. A neighbor reported hearing gunshots about half an hour after Davey Blackburn left. Amanda Blackburn lived another two days before she died. The Indy Star reported Blackburn's murder was a part of an eight-day crime spree, according to court documents. In addition to Blackburn's murder, the documents allege Taylor raped a woman and burglarized an apartment, and Taylor killed a man because he only had $10 while Taylor was trying to rob him. Priscilla Lewis, 21, was found in the basement of a restaurant in 1996Danny Lamont Hamilton, currently an inmate the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, has been charged with murder in the 1996 death of Vallejo resident Priscilla Lewis, 21, according to a statement from Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jimmy Lee. A cook at the the Four Corners restaurant found Lewis, 21 dead in a basement bathroom there on Sept. 24, 1996. Authorities said she drowned. The charge also carries four enhancements alleging that Hamilton was lying in wait and killed Lewis during an attempted rape and burglary, authorities said. According to Lee, the big break for investigators came last year, when detectives submitted additional evidence to a DNA crime lab to be tested using current technology. A match came back that linked Hamilton to the murder, Lee said. Until then, Lee said, investigators had interviewed dozens of people, had numerous pieces of evidence analyzed and served several search warrants. The case still went cold. Hamilton has been is serving a prison sentence of 295 years after being convicted of sexual assault charges unrelated to Lewis’ death, authorities said. Two Virginia Women's Bodies Found, Same (Black) Man Suspected Third Woman's Case
A Washington D.C. man has been arrested for two murders in Virginia — and is reportedly the suspect in a third person’s disappearance, according to police.
Anthony Robinson, 35, was arrested on Nov. 23, 2021 on two counts of first-degree murder after authorities identified the bodies of two women, according to the City of Harrisonburg Police Department. The bodies of Tonita Lorice Smith, 39, and Allene Elizabeth Redmon, 54, were found in the same location earlier that day, though police believe they died at separate times.
Now, authorities with the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police say Robinson is a person of interest in a third woman’s disappearance, according to People. Police have not yet named the third woman in their investigation. Allene Redmon was reported missing by family and friends on Oct. 24, 2021, when she failed to show up for work or return to her Harrisonburg apartment, according to Harrisonburg Police. Those closest to Redmon said her absence was out of character. Separately, the Charlottesville Police Department announced that Tonita Smith of Charlottesville, Virginia, was reported missing on Nov. 19, 2021. She was last seen on Nov. 14, and was believed to be traveling to Harrisonburg, some 60 miles away. “HPD and the Charlottesville Police Department were conducting two separate missing persons investigations which resulted in narrowing the focus of their search for Ms. Redmon and Ms. Smith to an area near Linda Lane,” said Harrisonburg Police. “The bodies of both women were discovered by detectives from Harrisonburg Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit in an undeveloped lot off Linda Lane within a short distance of each other, though their deaths took place at different times.” The Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office had yet to determine a time and cause of death for each victim. Authorities in Florida found human remains Wednesday during the search for Andreae Lloyd, a pregnant, mother of two who was abducted while at her job as a caretaker.
Authorities have not confirmed that the remains are Lloyd's, but she is presumed dead.
Today, Miami-Dade police announced the arrest of Xavier Johnson, 32, described as Lloyd's 27-year-old's boyfriend. He has been charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and armed burglary with assault or battery In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, investigators allege Johnson attacked and abducted Lloyd from a Miami home at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday. "According to investigators, the victim works as a caretaker at a residence and when her co-worker arrived this morning, she noticed the victim was missing," the statement explains. "The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was at work, when a male knocked on the door," the statement continues. "The victim opened the door and the subject began to beat her repeatedly. He then dragged her into a vehicle and drove away from the scene." The attack and abduction were caught by security cameras, police said. Officers began searching for the vehicle — a white Honda Civic — immediately, and teams scoured the area, looking for Lloyd. The remains believed to be those of Lloyd were found in a wooded area, according to police. Johnson remains in custody, and has yet to enter pleas to the charges. Attorney information for him was unavailable. WTVJ spoke to relatives, who said Lloyd and Johnson had been together for 11 years. The couple have two children together, and Lloyd was around six weeks pregnant with their third child. Lexx Zaveir Meeks, the man arrested and charged with the murder of Kalyn Moore, has been criticized for smiling in his booking photo.
Moore's body was found on December 6 in a field between Terrace and Euclid avenues, just south of Hastings Avenue, according to East Cleveland . Officials were contacted by a dogwalker around 9.30 a.m.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner said that Moore, 28, was killed by a single gunshot wound to the head. An inmate at the Essex County Correctional Facility has been charged with the Dec. 3 murder of another inmate, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II said.
Ashton D. Barthelus, 26, of Carteret has been charged with the murder of Dan G. Milford Gelin, 27, of Elizabeth. It is alleged that Barthelus fatally stabbed Gelin in the Essex County Correctional Facility located on the 300 block of Doremus Avenue in Newark. Gelin was transported to University Hospital Dec. 3 where he was pronounced dead at 9:03 a.m. An investigation led to Barthelus being charged with first degree murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. The man who allegedly shot a retired Chicago restaurateur 22 times in what was described as a daylight “execution” was ordered held without bail Thursday.
Alphonso Joyner, 23, was denied bail when he appeared in court in the shooting death of Woom Sing Tse, 71, in the Chinatown neighborhood of the Windy City, NBC Chicago reported.
Judge Maryam Ahmad cited the “overwhelming” evidence that Joyner presented a “real and present threat and danger to the community.”

Prosecutors allege that Tse was walking to buy a newspaper a block from his home Tuesday afternoon when Joyner pulled up in a light blue Toyota sedan and fired shots without any warning. As Tse tried to flee, the gunman fired again and struck him, prosecutors said. He then allegedly got out of the vehicle and fired more shots as Tse was lying on the ground. Joyner’s car was picked up by several Chicago police license plate readers both before and after the slaying, the outlet reported. He was arrested the following day on charges that included murder and aggravated use of a deadly weapon, the outlet reported. No motive has been determined for the frightening daytime attack. “I cannot say why this happened … sometimes people just do evil people things,” Assistant State’s Attorney James Murphy said. |

STAMFORD — A 35-year-old city man is facing attempted murder charges for a daylight shooting in Stamford’s South End in November.
Brandon Jones, 35, was arrested on a warrant early Thursday on charges of criminal attempt at murder, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal use of a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment.
The charges are tied to a shooting that happened around 1:40 p.m. on Nov. 20 in the 40 block of Woodland Avenue. Capt. Richard Conklin said Jones allegedly fired five shots across Woodland Avenue at a second person, with whom he is believed to have had a prior dispute. No one was injured, Conklin said. Around 5 a.m. Thursday, Stamford police raided Jones’ home in Glenbrook, where they recovered a magazine loaded with 40-caliber rounds, which Conklin said were consistent with the casings found at the scene of the November shooting. |

Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Willingboro Township Acting Public Safety Director Captain Ian Bucs have announced that a Pemberton Township man has been charged with shooting into a Willingboro residence earlier this year, injuring a woman and a toddler.
Sylas Young, 19, of the Sunbury Village section of Pemberton Township, was charged with four counts of Aggravated Assault (two Second Degree and two Third Degree), Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (Second Degree) and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (Second Degree). Young was served with the warrant inside the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly, where he is being held on unrelated charges. The Prosecutor’s Office will prepare the case for presentation to a grand jury for possible indictment. The investigation began after officers from the Willingboro Township Police Department were called to the first block of Baldwin Lane during the early morning hours of April 29 for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they discovered that a 24-year old woman had been struck in the lower leg by gunfire and a 2-year-old boy had been grazed across his buttocks. Both were taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden for treatment. The investigation revealed that the shooting stemmed from a long-running dispute between Young and his associates from Pemberton Township and a group of residents from the Buckingham Park section of Willingboro. BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Former Erie County Legislator Betty Jean Grant was arraigned on charges stemming from an incident she live streamed on her Facebook page during early voting in late October.
Grant. 73, is charged with one count of misdemeanor in relation to Elections under New York State Election Law and one count of second-degree harassment, a violation.
On October 23, Grant began a Facebook Live on her personal Facebook page from the Delevan Grider Community Center on East Delavan Avenue in Buffalo. During the 20-minute livestream, the district attorney's office says Grant knowingly entered a voting booth that was in use and watched an elderly woman fill out her ballot. Grant is accused of recording the woman as another woman helped her use a stamp to fill out the write-in candidate box. Prosecutors accuse Grant of filming the woman with the intent to "alarm or seriously annoy" her, amounting to harassment. In the video, Grant can be heard shouting “that’s illegal.” The day after the incident, the Erie County Board of Elections received a complaint about Grant's behavior. Democratic Board of Elections Commissioner Jeremy Zellner sent a letter revoking her poll-watcher status and ordering her to stay 100 feet away from polling locations. Grant was released following arraignment. She is due back in court on January 4. If convicted of all charges, the maximum sentence Grant could face is one year in jail. The body of a Florida woman whose boyfriend was charged with her death this week was found Tuesday near his home, authorities said.

A suspect has been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting at Raspberry Island in late August that killed 20-year-old Blake Swanson during a robbery.
The suspect, Christopher Dewayne Jones, 31, is a felon prohibited from possessing firearms and was out of custody on parole at the time of the murder.
Charges say at around 3:15 a.m. on Aug. 29, 2021, officers were sent to Raspberry Island in St. Paul on a report of a shooting. Police arrived to find Swanson motionless in a pool of blood outside of a vehicle where two others were trying to apply pressure to a gunshot wound to Swanson’s neck. Swanson was transported to the hospital but was pronounced deceased. Jones, of St. Paul, is facing four felony charges of second-degree murder with intent, second-degree murder while committing a felony, second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and first-degree aggravated robbery. Swanson, of Bethel, had arrived at Raspberry Island in a vehicle with his girlfriend and another friend who was driving, publicly identified as Evan Meide. The group had planned to meet friends at the location to ride scooters. Swanson and his girlfriend were asleep in the vehicle when Meide parked beneath the Wabasha Bridge, according to the criminal complaint. Meide later told police that he noticed a silver SUV, possibly a Tahoe or Suburban, with tinted windows in the parking lot when they arrived. Meide got out of the vehicle and walked up the stairs of the bridge in search of a Lime Scooter. Meide said he thought he heard a gunshot but thought the sound had come from downtown. When Meide arrived back at the vehicle on the scooter, he found Swanson on the ground bleeding and Swanson’s girlfriend crying. The silver SUV was no longer in the parking lot, Meide later told police. Swanson’s girlfriend subsequently told police that she and Swanson had been asleep in the vehicle. She awoke when she heard the rear passenger door open, where she was asleep. She said she saw a black male with shorter dreadlocks pointing a handgun at her head. The man said, “Give me all your shit. You think I won’t shoot you?” The man grabbed her phone, and she told the man she didn’t have anything else. The man then patted her down before he got out of the rear passenger seat and opened the front passenger door where Swanson was asleep. The man tried to wake up and search Swanson who woke up and moved his arms around. The girlfriend heard a gunshot and Swanson fell out of the open front passenger seat door onto the ground. The shooter ran to the SUV and got into the rear driver’s side door. The SUV left. The girlfriend tried to use her sweatshirt to stop Swanson’s bleeding. Investigators had one fingerprint to go on from the rear door of the vehicle that led them to identify Jones. Cellphone data also placed Jones at the scene. "They dug and worked and kept digging until they figured out who killed Blake. I'm proud of them and their work. I'm thankful for the support we received from our partners. However, another male, D.B., was subsequently arrested, and he told police he’d been at a bar with a man he knew as Chris prior to the shooting. After Meide exited the vehicle and went up the stairs, Jones said, “watch this,” and walked up to the vehicle containing Swanson and his girlfriend. D.B. said he heard a shot and Jones returned to the Suburban and pointed a gun at D.B. and told him to leave. D.B. later identified Jones from a photo line-up as the person who “done the crime.” Jones has at least three prior felony convictions and is prohibited from possessing firearms. Jones’ most recent felony conviction was in August 2017 on a charge of felon in possession of a firearm. Jones was sentenced to 60 months in prison on the conviction, which would have left him incarcerated until May 2022. However, Minnesota offenders are only required to serve two-thirds of their sentence incarcerated and the remainder on what Minnesota refers to as supervised release (parole). As such, Jones was released from custody in July 2020 and was placed on supervised release. Glenn Foster Jr., a former defensive lineman for the New Orleans Saints between 2013 and 2015, died this week after being arrested in Alabama, according to multiple local media outlets.
On Tuesday, 4WWL reported the Pickens County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Foster died in custody a day earlier and that an autopsy was pending.

Their bodies were reportedly dumped near the junction of Route 33 and Interstate 81 in Harrisonburg. Redmon was last seen in downtown Harrisonburg on or around Oct. 24. More than 30 women have stepped forward with claims Superfly actor and rapper Kaalan “KR” Walker raped or sexually abused them in a string of alleged assaults dating back to at least 2013, Los Angeles prosecutors told a judge in a Los Angeles courtroom Monday.
The staggering number, which Walker’s camp disputes, was cited by Deputy District Attorney Yasmin Fardghassemi ahead of a trial set to start next month. The serial rape case stems from Walker’s initial arrest in 2018 on charges he lured aspiring models to photo shoots under the guise of helping their careers and attacked them. Walker, 26, has pleaded not guilty to six counts of forcible rape, two counts of unlawful intercourse with a minor, and other felonies related to 11 alleged victims in Los Angeles County, according to court filings obtained by Rolling Stone. |

A Long Beach massage therapist was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery and detectives believe there may be more victims that have yet to come forward, police said.
Jerod Curtis, 29, of Carson, was arrested Friday on suspicion of multiple counts of sexual battery and sexual crimes against a minor, the Long Beach Police Department said in a news release.
A female juvenile contacted police on Nov. 30 and said she was “inappropriately touched” by Curtis, who was working as a massage therapist in the 5800 block of Naples Avenue, police said. Curtis, who is also a local youth volleyball coach, was also identified as the suspect in two sexual batteries involving adult women that happened between July and November, police said. (Black-on-White) Dayonte Resiles murder trial: Second day of jury deliberations end, but no verdict
Jurors finished a second day of deliberations in the high-profile murder trial of Dayonte Resiles without reaching a verdict on Saturday evening.
The jury, sequestered since late Friday, will pick up its discussion at 9 a.m. Sunday. Late Saturday afternoon, jurors requested testimony from the monthlong trial, but learned that testimony would not be available until the morning. Resiles, 27, is accused of stabbing Jill Halliburton Su, 59, to death in her Davie home in 2014. If convicted, he could face the death penalty. Testimony from the Broward Medical Examiner showed that Su sustained between 23 and 27 stab wounds and more than 20 “blunt force” wounds, concluding that the death of Su was far from instantaneous. Prosecutor Maria Schneider said she didn’t have to prove a motive for the crime, although prosecutors believe Resiles killed Su because she could identify him once he broke into her home. His escape in 2016 from the Broward courthouse and his later effort to concoct an alibi showed the lengths to which he was willing to protect himself, she said. (Black-on-White) |

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – A New York man was sentenced today two consecutive terms of life in prison for the murders of two men in Newport News in June and July 2014.
According to court documents, Mark Anthony Skeete, a.k.a. Mark Brown,33, was a member of the Nine Trey Gangsters, an offshoot of the California-based “Bloods” street gang. In June 2014, Skeete came to Virginia to facilitate and profit from the prostitution of adult women in the Richmond area. On June 28, 2014, Skeete and others traveled to Newport News to facilitate and profit from the prostitution of a woman from New York. When a client of the prostitute was unable to pay, Skeete shot and killed him to maintain his position as part of the Nine Trey enterprise. After the June 2014 murder, Skeete and others fled to North Carolina. Skeete and others then returned to Newport News and killed another man on July 16, 2014 during a drug transaction. Skeete also robbed the victim of money, drugs, and a cell phone. Shortly thereafter, Skeete returned to Richmond. On September 17, 2014, Skeete, a previously convicted felon, possessed a firearm in Richmond that was later forensically linked to the Newport News murders. Cartridge casings recovered from the June and July 2014 murder scenes revealed that the same Ruger .45 caliber firearm recovered on September 17, 2014 in Richmond was the weapon used in both of those murders. OAKLAND — A UC Berkeley employee, left paralyzed and unable to breathe or eat on his own after being shot multiple times in July 2020 near Lake Merritt in a road rage incident, has died and his death has been determined to be a homicide, authorities said.
Quoc Tran, 32, of Oakland, died Nov. 14 at a long-term care facility. An autopsy determined that the shooting injuries were the main contributor to his death, making it Oakland’s 128th homicide this year, authorities said.
A suspect with two prior felony convictions was arrested the day after the shooting and was charged with 11 felony and misdemeanor crimes, including attempted murder. The complaint against the suspect, Jamon Hill, 25, of Oakland, will be amended to include a count of murder, authorities said. Tran, who had worked as a planner/scheduler in campus operations at UC Berkeley since March 2018, was shot inside his vehicle about 11:19 a.m., July 27, 2020, at the intersection of Second Avenue and International Boulevard in Oakland’s Eastlake district. Authorities said Tran had become concerned about someone driving recklessly and tailgating him in a Lexus, and he took a picture of the car. Police said Hill, who was the other driver and did not know Tran, became angry, pulled alongside Tran’s vehicle and began shooting at him. The shooting was captured on video surveillance in the area, court documents say. Hill was spotted the next day driving the car in East Oakland. He refused to stop for police and sped away, eventually crashing and running from the vehicle in the area of the 3100 block of 61st Avenue, where he tried to hide in some yards before he was arrested, the documents say. A loaded, unregistered pistol was recovered in the vehicle, but it has not yet been determined if it was the gun used to shoot Tran, authorities said. A GoFundMe account was set up for Tran after the shooting. A Nashville mom was arrested Thursday after carrying a loaded semi-automatic handgun into a high school during a physical fight between students, authorities said.
Barquita Williams, 38, was found with the nine-millimeter semi-automatic handgun on her person after walking onto the grounds of East Nashville Magnet School, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said.

The man who helped cops capture the suspected killer of a Columbia University grad student told The Post on Friday, “I was pretty sure I might die” during the attack.
Still-shaken lawyer Gregory Johnson, 30, recounted his “terrifying” ordeal — as a German tourist who may have been stabbed by the same suspect also recalled his own brush with death.
Johnson said he and his girlfriend were walking his dog Peanut, a long-haired, dachshund-corgi mix, around West Drive in Central Park in Manhattan about 11 p.m. Thursday “As we were running, we heard him running behind us,” Johnson said of his assailant. “I turned and this guy swung at me with a kitchen knife. “He didn’t have any expression on his face. I could only see his eyes, and he was just staring me down.” Johnson said he and his girlfriend “pushed each other out of danger,” adding, “When we fell into the woods, he stopped coming toward me.” The pair began yelling at the crazed stranger, “F–k you!” and “F–k off!” he said. “When I got up, I had to go toward him to go toward the exit,” Johnson said. “He backed up, we circled each other,” and then both Johnson and his girlfriend were able to flee, the shaken man said. The assailant’s only words were to mumble something like, “Oh, f–k me?” when the couple cursed at him, Johnson said. The Upper East Side resident said that when he spotted an NYPD patrol car, he ran over and told the cops, “Some guy just tried to stab me in the park.” The cops had Johnson hop into the back seat and “drove over the curb to get onto the road in the park,” he said. “Then we came up on [the suspect] walking in the park not far off. I pointed him out, and the police put their lights on and told him to stop and get down over their intercom,” Johnson said. “Then he stopped and got on the ground while they hopped out to cuff him and search him.” Johnson called the entire incident “crazy” and “just so unexpected.” “I can tell you, it was terrifying,” he said. “Absolutely, in the moment, I was pretty sure I might die.” Cops suspect the man arrested in the park, reputed gang member Vincent Pinkney, 25, is responsible for the fatal stabbing of Columbia doctoral student Davide Giri,30, and the wounding of Italian tourist Roberto Malaspina, 27, during a bloody rampage just minutes earlier, law-enforcement sources have said. Sources have said they also are eying Pinkney in the stabbing of another man in the area less than a day earlier. David Savage, 45, was arrested Thursday shortly after a shootout with authorities. District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer said Friday Savage shot and killed Latoya Gary. Officials said he killed Gary while she was sleeping. “David Savage brutally executed his intimate partner, Latoya Gary, to start this whole chain of events. But this was a brutal, brutal murder. This is what evil looks like,” Stollsteimer said. The chain of events led to Savage opening fire outside the terminal and injuring a man when he shot into the air. The gunman who fatally shot an innocent Uber driver during a gun battle with a teen in Harlem earlier this year was arrested Thursday morning, authorities said.
Joselito Domena, 23, of the Bronx, faces murder, attempted murder, weapon possession and reckless endangerment charges in connection to the Sept. 4 shooting that killed driver Kuldip Singh, 21, and wounded a 15-year-old boy with whom he was exchanging gunfire, police said.
Domena turned himself in, joined by his lawyer, at the 32nd Precinct just before 9:30 a.m., cops said. Domena’s mother tried to attack a Post photographer outside the police precinct, yelling “That’s my son! Stop taking pictures!” “You’re not passing me! You’re going to have to push me!” she yelled at the photographer, blocking him from taking photos. “You got kids? You sorry son of a b—h,” she fumed before being restrained by officers. Singh, who took a bullet to the head during the shooting at West 131st Street and Eighth Avenue, was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he was declared dead three days later, cops confirmed. Raymond Bennett, 46, was arrested Thursday after allegedly
hitting an Asian woman from behind with the handlebars of his bike inside the 116th Street-Columbia University station in Morningside Heights on Saturday, police said.
Bennett allegedly hurled racist epithets at the 54-year-old victim in the 4 p.m. incident, which happened on the platform of the No. 1 train, cops said. “I got you good, you Asian f–king b—h,” Bennett allegedly snarled when the woman asked why he hit her before fleeing the station, according to a criminal complaint. Bennett was free to attack after getting sprung on supervised release in an earlier case from Nov. 20 — in which he also allegedly rammed his bike into a woman, cops said. In that incident, he allegedly whacked the 37-year-old victim with a Citi Bike repeatedly on the shoulder and arm at the 96th Street subway station when they got into an argument over how many people could fit in an elevator, according to cops. The victim was treated at St. Luke’s Hospital, police said. Bennett was charged with felony assault — and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office requested $20,000 bail or $60,000 bond. But Judge James Clynes freed Bennett on the highest level of supervision, one in-person check-in per week, according to the DA’s office. New technology led to an arrest 38 years after a woman was murdered in Delray Beach.
"They know that he is now hopefully going to pay the price for the rest of his life. Obviously, I don’t know if they can get closure, but it may help them out a little bit," said Det. Todd Clancy with the Delray Beach Police Department.
On Nov. 13, 1983, 21-year-old Carla Lowe was found brutally beaten and run over in the middle of Depot Avenue while she was waiting for the Amtrak train. Now, 38 years later, police have made an arrest in her murder. Ralph Williams, 59, was arrested in Jacksonville and charged for her death. Police said because of recent advancements in technology, they were able to pull a fingerprint off a piece of evidence left at the scene, which led them to Williams. This arrest brings some piece of closure for the family. “The advances in DNA and fingerprint technology were still developing, but we kept working at it. I stayed in touch with the detectives. I’m so glad that the Lowe family is able to get some closure and there will be some justice for this victim who was so brutally murdered," retired Lt. Mark Woods said. Married couple found dead in apparent murder-suicide at south Tulsa condos A married couple was found dead two days before Thanksgiving in an apparent murder-suicide at a south Tulsa condominium on Tuesday, police reported. Officers responded to Benchmark Condos, 9247 S. Urbana Ave., about 5:30 p.m. after a family member of Greg and Tina Griffin found their bodies inside, Tulsa Police Homicide Lt. Brandon Watkins said. Watkins said information in the case is sparse, but evidence at the scene points to the deaths being a murder-suicide, with Greg Griffin, 47, believed to be the suspect and Tina Griffin, 53, the victim. Police aren’t sure how long the couple had been dead, but the family member told detectives they hadn’t heard from the couple in two weeks. Tina Griffin is Tulsa’s 58th homicide victim this year. HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Crime Insider sources say that at least two, possibly three, children lost their parents Monday in Henrico.
A mother dead and a father booked at the Henrico County Jail.
"I was scared, I didn't know what was going on," one community member said. Bahja Canty came home from work on Monday to an unfamiliar scene of police tape, forensics, and detectives. The scene left many wondering what happened. "Just after 2 p.m., police were called to the 100 block of South Oak Ave for a shooting. Upon arrival, EMS officials transported an adult female to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries," Henrico Police Spokesperson Lt. Matt Pecka said. Pecka confirmed that a domestic homicide investigation is now underway. Crime Insider sources said it started with a man and a woman in the parking lot. Sources said the woman was strangled in the parking lot and then taken back inside an apartment where she was shot multiple times. Those same sources said the victim of the incident was a mother of at least two children. Sara Rose Pierce, 30, of Henrico, was transported from the scene to an area hospital where she died. Patrick Lynn Pierce, III, 34, of Henrico, was at the scene and was taken into custody without incident. He is being held without bond at the Henrico County Jail on a second-degree murder charge and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. "As with any investigation, if you saw or heard anything, give us a call. No one else at home and really no direct impact to the community," Pecka said. (Black) Philadelphia man sentenced to 98 years on prison for Atlantic City murder, robbery
A 39-year-old Philadelphia man who shot and killed another man at an Atlantic City motel nearly three years ago will spend the rest of his life in state prison.
Avery Bracey was sentenced Tuesday to 98 years in prison, 80 years of which must be served before he eligible for parole, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.
Bracey gunned down Ky’Lee Haynes, 21, at the Sunset Inn on Absecon Boulevard on Jan. 4, 2019, authorities said. He also shot another person on North Florida Avenue minutes later. Bracey was arrested shortly after the second shooting and found with a gun. The victim in that shooting later walked into an area hospital to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. In August, a jury convicted Bracey of felony murder, robbery, criminal restraint, aggravated assault, witness tampering and several weapons offenses. |

UPDATE: The man who Richmond County investigators were searching for in reference to a burglary and rape that took place on the 3200 block of Deans Bridge Road on Saturday, November 27 is now in police custody.

Investigators say Darrell Oliver is wanted in reference to a burglary and rape that took place on the 3200 block of Deans Bridge Road on Saturday, November 27. Oliver was last seen driving north on Deans Bridge Road in a white Subaru Legacy. He resides in Columbus, Georgia, and is believed to be headed back to Columbus, Georgia. (CNN)A man who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting an intellectually disabled woman in an Arizona long-term health care facility was sentenced to 10 years in prison Thursday, according to prosecutors.
Nathan D. Sutherland, formerly a licensed practical nurse who was caring for the woman, was accused of impregnating her in 2018 while she was in a vegetative state at the facility, prosecutors said. She shocked employees by giving birth at the facility in December 2018, with one telling a 911 dispatcher, "We had no idea she was pregnant." In January 2019, Sutherland was arrested after a sample of his DNA matched the baby's, police said. Sutherland pleaded guilty in September to sexual assault and abusing a vulnerable adult, court records show, at the Hacienda HealthCare facility in Phoenix, where the victim had been living for years. The woman had been a patient at Hacienda since 1992 due to significant intellectual disabilities as a result of childhood seizures, her family told CNN, and has since left the facility. Sutherland will be placed on lifetime probation and required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison, Maricopa County Attorney Allister Adel said in a statement. |

N.J. rabbi committed ‘horrific acts’ of child sex abuse while Jewish organizations did nothing, lawsuits say
In the summer of 1974, a girl went on a youth group trip to Israel led by Rabbi Baruch Lanner, a popular New Jersey rabbi who headed the state’s chapter of the National Conference of Synagogue Youth.
On each night in Israel, the young rabbi asked a teenager to join him in a secluded area, according to a newly-filed lawsuit. Each time one of the girls, identified in the lawsuit as Jane Doe #3, was selected, she said Lanner kissed her and touched her breasts.
By the end of the trip, the girl refused to be alone with Lanner or speak to him. “Lanner responded by punching her in the stomach, knocking the wind out of her,” the lawsuit said. When the girl told Lanner’s boss, a prominent rabbi, about his behavior, he dismissed her allegations, saying, Lanner “does so much good; it’s important what he’s doing,” according to the lawsuit. Nearly 50 years after that summer trip to Israel, five women have filed lawsuits in New Jersey accusing Orthodox Jewish organizations of ignoring allegations for decades that Lanner was sexually, emotionally and physically abusing children. Lanner, the former principal of Hillel Yeshiva High School in Ocean Township, was convicted in 2002 of endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated sexual contact and sexual contact after he was accused of fondling two female students in his office. The former principal, now 72, was released from prison in 2008 and now lives in Elizabeth, according to the lawsuit. |

Pawlowski has warned Americans that he believes the compelled speech he has been subject to in Canada will take root in the United States as well. Pending an expedited appeal in June of Germain’s original judgment, Strekaf also stayed an order forbidding Pawlowski from leaving the province of Alberta. Strekaf's ruling is the latest development in Pawlowski's ongoing tussle with Canadian authorities. The pastor faced a civil contempt charge for holding church services in violation of a court order that forbade organizing, promoting or attending an "illegal public gathering." He also faced a contempt charge for throwing armed police out of his sanctuary when they attempted to inspect it for COVID-19 compliance during an Easter service in April, which first drew him international attention. On May 8, a motorcade of Calgary police vehicles pulled over Pawlowski and his brother to arrest them in the middle of a highway on their way home from church. They were imprisoned for three days. |

Investigators arrested a homeless man in Miami, who, they said, was responsible for the homicide of a 14-year-old boy in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Police said they took Semmie Lee Williams Jr., a 39-year-old "homeless drifter," into custody on Wednesday night on the charge of stabbing Ryan Rogers to death on Nov. 15.
According to an affidavit, Rogers' autopsy revealed that he had been stabbed numerous times in the head and face and his cause of death was stab wounds. DNA evidence from a pair of headphones found near Rogers' body was entered into a database and provided a positive match to Williams, police said. Police said they located Williams in Miami and found DNA belonging to Rogers on a bloody bandana. The homicide was a "completely random act," Palm Beach Gardens Police Chief Clint Shannon said in a press conference Tuesday morning. He described the incident as an "innocent child victim having a chance encounter with a very violent criminal." Rogers left his house on his bike on Nov. 15 around 6:40 p.m. local time and was reported missing later that night by his mother when he didn't return home. His body was found the next day on Central Boulevard near an I-95 overpass, police said. On Nov. 25, police ruled Rogers' death a homicide and announced a reward for information linked to it. Williams has been charged with first-degree murder with a weapon and was presented in court Tuesday morning, where his bond was denied. He holds a criminal record and has been previously convicted for domestic violence, battery and aggravated assault. Shannon called Williams "an animal who probably shouldn't be out on our streets" and thanked the public officers and investigators who "removed a very dangerous monster from our street" in the Tuesday morning press conference. Hispanic Laredo man (Jose Victor Palacios) arrested for shoplifting (stealing) beer
A man was arrested for walking out of a local convenience store without paying for beer, according to Laredo police.
Jose Victor Palacios, 56, was cited for theft. He was additionally served with warrants that charged him with one count of burglary of a vehicle and two counts of theft of property.
The case unfolded on Friday night, when U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Laredo South Station observed two men in a foot pursuit. Agents investigated and discovered that one man, who was identified as Palacios, had stolen beer from a convenience store near South Meadow Avenue and U.S. 83. Moments later, Laredo police arrived and took custody of Palacios. |

Hispanic Man wanted on multiple felony warrants 
A man is wanted on 10 felony warrants, according to Laredo police.
Authorities said that Jesus Gerardo Flores, 24, is wanted on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, theft of property and several counts of credit card abuse.
The case dates back to Nov. 2. At about 1:53 a.m., police officers responded to a theft of a motor vehicle report. A woman stated that she went into the store to pick up a Door Dash order and left her 2009 Jeep Patriot with the key in the ignition. When she returned, she noticed that her vehicle was stolen, according to police. That same day, authorities noticed that someone had tried to use the complainant’s credit cards at various convenience stores. Through the investigation, Flores was identified as the suspect in this case. An assistant district attorney approved the issuance of an arrest warrant for Flores. |

Following an extensive investigation that began more than three years ago, the Vermont State Police has identified a suspect in connection with a double homicide that occurred in Woodbury on Oct. 30, 2018.
A judge on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 24, 2021, issued an arrest warrant on charges of aggravated murder and first-degree arson for Manuel Gomez, 32, of Hartford, Conn., in connection with the killings of 29-year-old Carol Fradette and 48-year-old David Thompson at their homes on Bliss Road in Woodbury. Gomez is in custody at the Otisville Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, N.Y., on an unrelated federal conviction for illegal possession of a firearm. He is scheduled to be released next week, at which time he will face arrest on the Vermont charges. A joint investigation by the Vermont State Police and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives began after Fradette, Thompson, and their three dogs were shot and killed, and their residences set on fire on Oct. 30, 2018. Fradette and Thompson lived in separate residences on the same property in Woodbury. Their bodies were found in their homes, which had both been set on fire. Investigators believe the fires were intended to conceal the homicides. (CNN)Denise Anderson, Otis Anderson Jr.'s mother, told authorities in Jacksonville, Florida, that an argument over a dog bite led to the shooting death of the former University of Central Florida football star.
She said the fatal altercation began when her husband, Otis Anderson Sr., became upset after being bitten by a dog belonging to Anderson Jr.'s girlfriend, according to the incident report released by Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
She told detectives that Anderson Jr. came downstairs to see what had happened and got into a verbal altercation with his father. Denise Anderson said she then told her son to go back upstairs and she and her husband got into a verbal fight as well. Anderson Sr. then flipped a recliner, she said, causing her son to come back down. The two men got into another verbal altercation, and she told detectives it "appeared like they were going to fight," the report said. They then went their separate ways, Anderson Sr. heading in the direction of the garage, she said according to the report. Anderson Sr. came back inside and met his son in the kitchen, according to the report. Officers were dispatched to the residence on Monday evening after someone was reported shot, according to the report. When they arrived, they found Anderson Jr. with a gunshot wound to the chest. A second person, who was identified as Denise Anderson, (Otis Anderson Jr.'s mother) also suffered multiple graze wounds, according to the incident report. They were both transported to the University of Florida Health Hospital, where Anderson Jr. was pronounced dead, and Denise Anderson was treated and released, the incident report said. Otis Anderson Sr. has been charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder, the report said. According to CNN affiliate WJXT, Anderson Sr. made his first court appearance on Tuesday where a judge denied bond. His next court date is December 22, his inmate records show. He is currently being held in the Duval County Jail. |

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A man with a lengthy criminal history is accused of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman as she delivered pizza to a central Florida apartment complex, officials said.
U.S. marshals arrested Osvaldo Figueroa, 55, Tuesday in nearby Lake County on a sexual battery charge, Osceola County Sheriff Marco López said during a news conference.
He said the woman was assaulted Sunday in an elevator at the apartment complex in Kissimmee. During a livestream of his arrival at the sheriff’s office, Figueroa went on an expletive-laced rant, denying the allegations to reporters who were gathered there. The video posted on the sheriff’s Facebook page shows Figueroa becoming agitated and screaming as he was led by deputies. “I didn’t do this, bro,” he said. “I didn’t rape nobody.” López called Figueroa a “prolific offender,” adding he was released from prison earlier this year after serving time for trafficking in stolen property. He said Figueroa has an extensive criminal history over a 35-year span that includes 70 to 80 arrests and multiple convictions on drug and robbery charges. A South Jersey man convicted in the fatal shooting of someone giving him a ride was sentenced to 45 years in prison on Tuesday.
In July, a jury convicted Jule L. Hannah, 39, of first-degree murder and weapons offenses in the Jan. 15, 2017, killing of 53-year-old Miguel “Chuito” Lopez Jr., of Vineland.
Lopez was driving that morning from a casino in Atlantic City to Monroe Township in Gloucester County when he was flagged down by Hannah, who has just crashed his car and was looking for a lift to Bridgeton. Hannah was offering a hundred dollars to anyone who would drive him and Lopez, who didn’t know Hannah, took the offer. As they drove through Bridgeton, Hannah fired from the front passenger seat, striking Lopez multiple times, according to prosecutors. The car crashed in front of a home on the 400 block of Spruce Street and police arrived to find Lopez dead in the driver’s seat. A motive for the killing was not determined. Surveillance video showing a man exiting the car and limping from the scene was a key factor in the state’s case against Hannah. Superior Court Judge Cristen P. D’Arrigo sentenced Hannah to 45 years in state prison on the murder charge. He must serve 85 percent of that time before he is eligible for parole and is subject to five years of parole supervision upon release. He was also sentenced to a concurrent 10-year term on a second-degree charge of possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose. |

Rene Ayarde, 28, was charged Monday with murder, manslaughter and assault in the murder of 80-year-old Robert Baynor in a Staten Island apartment building on July 19, police confirmed to Fox News Digital on Tuesday.
Raynor was found lying unconscious on the hallway floor of the Tompkinsville residence on 256 Corson Avenue, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene and a medical examiner later ruled his death a homicide.

LOWELL — A Lowell man is being held without bail following his arraignment in the Llewelyn Street killing of a Boston woman on Thanksgiving Day.
Leonard Robinson, 22, of Lowell, was arraigned in Lowell District Court Tuesday morning for the alleged murder of his on-and-off girlfriend, Dejah Jenkins-Minus, 22. He was ordered held without bail and without prejudice pending a probable cause hearing scheduled for Dec. 30.
Assistant District Attorney Tom Brant told the court that around 1 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Jenkins-Minus drove from her Boston home to Robinson’s home on Llewelyn Street with her 2-month-old daughter after the two adults exchanged text messages. She was expected to return to the family home in Boston later that day for a Thanksgiving gathering, but never returned. Brant said family members used an app on Jenkins-Minus’ cellphone to ping her location, which showed that she was still at the Lowell address. Relatives drove by the home twice during the night, but it appeared empty and dark and Jenkins-Minus’ car was not there. On Friday morning, police responded to the Llewelyn Street home, where Robinson lived alone, to perform a well-being check on Jenkins-Minus. A family member of Robinson also arrived and entered the home, where he found Jenkins-Minus’ body in Robinson’s locked bedroom. She was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy conducted Saturday showed that Jenkins-Minus had been stabbed more than 58 times. Police found a knife at the scene that was reported to be consistent with the weapon used in the killing. Jenkins-Minus’ baby was later located safe in Boston. Robinson was arrested in Boston over the weekend without incident. |

Rapper Jamell Demons, better known by the professional name YNW Melly, has told a Broward judge he is tired of waiting and wants to go on trial for murder as soon as possible.
Demons, 22, has been in custody for nearly three years, accused of murdering two close friends and fellow rappers after a recording session and then trying to make it look like a random drive-by shooting. He faces the possibility of a death sentence if convicted. Speedy trial demands are not uncommon, but they are rare in capital murder cases. Defense lawyers usually prefer to have as much time as possible to prepare their cases so they can sow the seeds of reasonable doubt or, if they lose, convince the jury to spare the defendant’s life. It was not clear Monday whether Demons is pushing for a speedy trial on his own or with the approval of his lawyer, Stuart Adelstein. Attempts to reach his attorney Monday were not successful. The U.S. Constitution guarantees the right to a speedy trial. Most defendants waive that right, but in Florida, a defendant can demand a speedy trial at any point in the legal process, forcing proceedings to begin within 50 days. For Demons, it would mean a trial date in mid-January. According to investigators, Demons left a recording session on Oct. 26, 2018, with longtime friends Anthony D’Andre Williams and Christopher Thomas, Jr., fellow rappers who went by YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy, respectively. The driver was another friend, Cortlen Malik Henry. Demons is accused of shooting the two passengers in Miramar, near U.S. 27 and Pembroke Road. Police also accused him of conspiring with Henry to make it look like a drive-by. When Henry drove the wounded passengers to Memorial Hospital Miramar, Demons was nowhere to be found, according to police. Prosecutors filed charges Tuesday against three teenagers accused of shooting three students outside of Aurora’s Hinkley High School earlier this month.
Larry Jefferson, Dalen Brewer and Diego Flores, all 16 years old, were charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of first-degree assault, second-degree assault and possession of a weapon on school grounds. Jefferson was also charged with using a prohibited large-capacity magazine during a crime, according to the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
All three boys were charged as adults, which is why their names have been released. According to their Facebook accounts, the suspects are all students at Hinkley High School. The shooting happened in the school’s parking lot on Nov. 19 at around noon. Three people were shot: a 17-year-old female student from Hinkley, a 17-year-old male student from Hinkley and a 16-year-old from APS Avenues. All of the victims are expected to survive. The Aurora Police Department previously said it believes the shooting was connected to an unnamed local gang. The shooting came four days after six students were shot outside of Aurora Central High School and nine days before five people — including four teenagers — were shot outside of a party on East Colfax Avenue. Police say in the first case, the suspects approached a 12-year-old boy and a 3-year-old boy who were walking home on Skillman Street about 6 p.m. on Friday. One of the suspects slapped the younger boy in the face before running off. The older boy was not hit, according to a press release from police. Then on Sunday at 5:35 p.m., an 18-year-old woman and a 7-year-old girl were walking to the store on DeKalb Avenue when they were confronted by three females. The 18-year-old was approached from behind, was grabbed by the jacket and pulled to the ground. The three suspects took off and the 7-year-old girl was not attacked. A short time later on the same day, a 9-year-old boy was approached from behind as he was walking on Skillman Street, and was slapped on top of his head multiple times before the suspects took off. The victims were all wearing traditional Jewish attire when they were targeted. None of the victims were injured in the attacks. LOS ANGELES – A father suspected of killing his four children and the children’s grandmother was questioned in police custody on Monday in California, United States. The man has been identified as Germarcus David, 29, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The four children, under 12, died at the scene of the crime, a home in the small town of Lancaster, near Los Angeles. The children’s 50-year-old grandmother was also killed in the same incident on Sunday evening. A case of ongoing animosity that ended when one man gunned down another outside of an east Wichita sports bar in 2019 has landed the convicted shooter in prison for more than 20 years. Sedgwick County District Judge Seth Rundle ordered William Lee Gray, 47, to serve 241 months behind bars for shooting 51-year-old James Storey in the head as he sat in his truck at Southrock Billiards and Sports Bar, 2020 S. Rock Rd., the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office said Monday. Gray was sentenced Nov. 19 on one count of voluntary manslaughter and one count of criminal discharge of a firearm at an occupied vehicle, court records show.
According to an arrest affidavit released by the court last year, long-standing tensions between the men boiled over on Nov. 17, 2019, after Storey spent the day playing pool at the bar. Both men had been in a relationship with the same woman, the affidavit says, and Storey reportedly didn’t like Gray being around the two children he fathered with her because Gray is a registered sex offender, leading to bitterness between the pair. Records show Gray spent time in prison for a 1994 rape and aggravated robbery in Reno County. |

PASSAIC — Three men have been arrested following a stabbing very early Friday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes announced.
Passaic Police responded after 2 a.m. to the area of Van Buren Street and Lexington Avenue, on a report of a fight in-progress.
Officers found a 29-year-old Passaic man who had been stabbed. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Shortly after, police were notified that a 28-year-old man, also from Passaic, had arrived in a private vehicle seeking treatment for several stab wounds. Investigators determined that 26-year-old Sergio Xochiuilacuamatzi and 21-year-old Christian Martinez, both of Passaic, and 25-year-old Richard Arriaga, of Wayne, had been involved in the knife fight, according to the prosecutor. All three men were arrested late Friday night, in separate locations, Valdes said. Xochiuilacuamatzi, Martinez and Arriaga are each charged with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. They also face fourth-degree counts of unlawful possession of a weapon and criminal mischief. Hispanic Texas teen arrested after shooting, killing his own mother: police
A 15-year-old Texas boy faces capital murder charges after he confessed to shooting and killing his own mother inside her home, authorities said Saturday.
Dallas police officers responded to Mclean Avenue for an abandoned child call just after 4:30 p.m. on Friday, the Dallas Police Department said in a news release. Officers learned that an unknown individual had dropped off a two-year-old child at her great-grandparents' home.
The great-grandparents were concerned about the child’s grandmother, who was supposed to be caring for her, and requested a welfare check. The child’s grandmother, 47-year-old Aime Salinas-Alvarado, was found dead inside her home with a single gunshot wound to the head, police said. An investigation determined that Salinas-Alvarado’s teen son had shot and killed her before taking the child to her great-grandparents’ home, the news release said. |

Border Patrol arrests 4 Mexicans at humanitarian-aid group's Arivaca camp
Border Patrol agents served a warrant and arrested four people at a No More Deaths camp in Arivaca, Customs and Border Protection announced Thursday night. The four are Mexican nationals arrested for immigration violations, the agency said.
A No More Deaths spokeswoman said the four were patients receiving medical care.
The group, also known as No Mas Muertes, provides what it calls humanitarian aid to people who cross the border illegally, with a mission of preventing deaths and suffering in the desert. Arivaca is about 10 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border.
The National Weather Service says the area saw triple-digit heat on Thursday. The day’s high temperature in Nogales, on the border about 55 miles from Arivaca, was 103.
The arrests appear to be a major change in practice for immigration enforcement at the camp, which opened in 2004 on private property.

All it took was a “perceived slight” in the subway to spark the death of an innocent Manhattan woman, prosecutors said Saturday.
David Robinson, 53, was charged with manslaughter and held on $100,000 bail Saturday in the July 21 death of Than Htwe, 58.
The apparently hothead Robinson allegedly targeted Htwe and her son as they left the Canal Street subway station because he believed the younger man had thrown trash at him, prosecutor Lindley Round told Judge Paul Goetz.

(Black) Man is charged with murder of 58-year-old ASIAN woman who plunged to her death on NYC subway stairs during botched robbery
A man suspected in a deadly mugging on a subway station stairway has been arrested four months after the incident, when someone spotted him in Central Park and called a tip line, police said Saturday.
David Robinson,53, appeared in court a day after his arrest on manslaughter charges in the death of Htwe Than Than.
Police said the 58-year-old victim was walking up some steps in a station in Manhattan's Chinatown with her 22-year-old son, Kyaw Zaw Hein, on July 17 when Robinson grabbed the son's backpack, propelling both son and mother down the stairs. She was in a coma for several days before succumbing to her injuries. Robinson told police he became angry 'because he believed the man had thrown garbage at him,' according to a criminal complaint. He claimed the 22-year-old man grabbed onto his mother as he tumbled backward, causing her to fall, as well. Both were knocked unconscious in the fall. When Zaw Hein awoke, he said his mother was 'lying on the floor with blood everywhere.' 'The defendant heard a crack when the mother's head struck the ground,' the complaint says. DeKALB COUNTY, Ga. (TCD) -- A mother and her partner were arrested after the body of her 8-year-old autistic daughter was found in the woods on Sunday.
According to a press release from the Gwinnett County Police, Nicole Amari Hall’s body was discovered around 10:45 a.m. in the woods near Juliet Drive and Stone Mill Trace. The area was about 15 miles from Hometown Studios, the hotel where Amari and her family were reportedly living.
Amari was reportedly last seen between midnight and 1 a.m. on Nov. 21 wearing a Tweety Bird jacket and blue and white pajamas. Her mother Brittany Nicole Hall, who is reportedly new to the neighborhood, called police to report Amari missing that morning. Upon questioning, there were allegedly inconsistencies in the statements about Amari’s disappearance from Hall and her partner Celeste Owens. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Gwinnett County Police Chief J.D. McClure said, "We compared statements that we had gotten from Brittany Hall and also her partner, Celeste Owens. We compared those statements and recognized those statements were indeed false." McClure added, "I can’t speculate on why they reported her as missing. But our investigation revealed Amari was not, in fact, missing. Very early in the investigation, we began to suspect foul play." Hall was arrested Monday, Nov. 22, and charged with cruelty to children first-degree and making a false report of a crime.. Gwinnett County Police said Hall may face additional charges. Owens was reportedly arrested Sunday, Nov. 21. She faces multiple charges including making false statements in connection with the investigation, felony murder, and cruelty to children, first-degree, according to Gwinnett County Police. Virginia police have renewed their pleas for the public’s help catching a murder suspect who has eluded capture for five years after the ambush killing of Janina Jefferson in a parking lot outside her workplace. The Wise County Sheriff’s Office is asking for information on the whereabouts of her ex-husband, Eric Monroe Jones, 51, a fugitive ex-con with multiple felony convictions. Despite numerous tips, police and the U.S. Marshals Service have failed to track Jones down, the sheriff’s office said in a statement Friday. The couple, from Big Stone Gap, Virginia, went through an ugly divorce in 2016, according to authorities. On the day the divorce was finalized, Jones allegedly showed up at the water plant where the 38-year-old Jefferson worked. They got into an argument that led to charges of assault, battery and strangulation against Jones. On Nov. 1 of that year, Jones allegedly threatened to shoot and burn her and vowed he would not return to prison, according to the sheriff’s office. His past criminal record also includes a count of attempted murder for hire as well as firearms and drug charges, court records show. He returned to her workplace Nov. 27, investigators said, allegedly hiding until she pulled into the parking lot. He then emerged and allegedly shot her multiple times from close range. Jones is considered armed and dangerous. Investigators say he has used the aliases Eric Humphrey and "Eazy E" Jones. He is a Black male with brown eyes and black hair and stands 5 feet, 7 inches tall. Wanted posters list his weight between 175 and 192 pounds. Authorities are seeking a 21-year-old man wanted in a Southside killing of another man, according to Houston Police.
Police say Quinton Jermaine Wilson has been charged with murder in the death of 25-year-old Giovanie Thompson, who was fatally shot in the 6600 block of Madrid Street Sunday.
A man approached Thompson in an apartment complex’s parking lot, shooting him multiple times before fleeing, according to police. He was pronounced dead. CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - An area man was convicted earlier this month for following his ex-girlfriend and her four young children to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police station, ramming his car into hers, and shooting at the family.
Kendrick Piggie, now 32, was arrested for the incident early February 2019. Police say the woman left with the children after a domestic situation. She went to the station for help. That’s when police say he hit her car and started shooting before driving off and crashing. |

A Rochelle Park resident was arrested this week after he allegedly attacked a 79-year-old man at a Bergen County law firm, authorities said.
The incident happened at about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday when officers from the Fair Lawn Police Department were called to 0-99 Plaza Road in the borough for a report of an injured man, according to a joint statement from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Fair Lawn Police Department.
The Levine Law Firm has its address listed as 0-99 on its web site.
The injured man was taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, where he was treated for head injuries, police said. He was not identified. An investigation revealed that Mohammad Ramadan, 34, of Rochelle Park attempted to kill the man with a wooden baton, the office said. Ramadan was arrested Wednesday and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and weapons-related offenses, authorities said. String of smash-and-grab thefts in California continues at Los Angeles Nordstrom store
Thieves rushed into a Southern California Nordstrom store the night before Thanksgiving and ran off with pricey goods in the latest of a string of organized retail thefts.
Five people, one wearing an orange wig, entered the open store shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Westfield Topanga Mall in the Canoga Park area of Los Angeles, took seven or eight expensive purses and fled in a grey Ford Mustang, police said. Gwinnett County police said Lawrenceville woman Marcia Chance was stabbed to death Thanksgiving Day by her 18-year-old son.
Marcia Chance, 42, died of stab wounds, Gwinnett police said. Her son, Varian Hibbert, of Lawrenceville, has been charged with Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault and Possession of a knife during the commission of a felony, and is currently at the Gwinnett County Detention Center, police said. According to police, shortly before noon on Thursday, officers assigned to the East Precinct were dispatched to a domestic related assault in the 1100 block of Misty Valley Court in unincorporated Lawrenceville. When officers arrived, they found Chance's dead body inside of the residence. Hibbert was at the scene and was taken into custody. A New Jersey police officer faces a slew of charges after allegedly striking a pedestrian on a parkway, leaving the scene and then taking the victim's body to his home.
Newark Police Officer Louis Santiago, 25, has been charged with reckless homicide, desecrating human remains and other related charges after striking a pedestrian on the Garden State Parkway, according to a statement Thursday from Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II. On Nov. 1 around 3 a.m., Santiago allegedly struck the victim with a 2005 Honda Accord he was driving and did not call 911. Instead, he allegedly left the scene of the accident, came back to the scene, placed the victim in his car and then at some point returned to the scene with the victim's dead body. Santiago allegedly took the body of the victim, Damian Z. Dymka, a 29-year-old nurse from Garfield in Bergen County, New Jersey, to his home in Bloomfield where he discussed with his mother what to do with the body, according to the prosecutor's statement. A Philadelphia man is charged with murder after allegedly shooting his ex-girlfriend in front of her 5-year-old twin sons, say police.
On Friday at about 3:11 p.m., Sykea Patton, 24, was walking her children home from school in West Philadelphia when shots rang out, the Philadelphia Police Department said in a statement.
As Patton's children looked on, their mother was shot in the left chest, left arm, and lower back, say police, Fox 29 and NBC10 report.
She was rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and was pronounced dead at 3:44 p.m.
On Monday, her ex-boyfriend, Donavan Crawford, 28, was arrested. He faces a slew of charges including murder, recklessly endangering another person and weapons charges, the department said in the release.

Woman sues N.J. school district for $50M, says BLACK security guard (named "RASHAWN" sexually abused her when she was in high school
26-year-old woman has filed a $50 million lawsuit against the Paterson Board of Education and the former security guard she claims sexually assaulted her when she was a high school student there a decade ago.
The woman, who still lives in the city, claims she was sexually assaulted in Rosa L. Parks School of Fine & Performing Arts beginning when she was 15 and in the ninth grade, according to the suit, filed Nov. 17 in Superior Court of Passaic County. The woman’s name is being withheld because NJ Advance Media does not identify victims of sexual abuse. The woman claims the first incident of abuse occurred inside the school’s auditorium, where the security guard lured her on the premise that a dance teacher wanted to speak with her. When the she entered the theater, the security guard sexually assaulted her, the lawsuit states. The suit claims the victim told an English teacher about the assault, but the complaint was “ignored, dismissed and not reported,” the suit alleges. The lawsuit alleges the security guard assaulted the student several more times over the next couple of years and that the victim felt she had no option but to comply because her request for help had been ignored. In the beginning of the student’s junior year, when the victim was 17, she told a friend about the abuse. The friend alerted an administrator, who met with the victim. “At this time, the sexual abuse stopped and a criminal investigation began,” according to the lawsuit. The lawsuit names the abuser as Rashawn McGuire, now 38, of Passaic County. Public records show McGuire was convicted in 2016 of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, sentenced to 210 days in jail and placed on probation for five years. |
NYPD cop wrestles with unhinged, ‘disorderly’ BLACK attacker inside Brooklyn Target
An unhinged man attacked an NYPD cop inside a Brooklyn Target on Tuesday and tried to choke the lawman as they wrestled on the ground, new video shows.
The violent encounter happened just after 2 p.m. when the cop spotted the man acting “disorderly and flipping items on shelves onto the ground” in the Atlantic Terminal Mall store, according to the NYPD.
The 44-year-old man, identified as Henroy Johnson, threatened the cop with a bottle before wrestling the officer to the ground and punching him with a closed fist, police said. At one point, Johnson appears to try to strangle the cop while the officer is on his back, the video shows. Johnson, who has an address on Bowery in Manhattan, was arrested and charged with assault of a police officer, resisting, menacing and obstruction, according to the NYPD. |

Antonio Gianny Garcia, 16, pleaded guilty to felony illegal discharge of a firearm and aggravated robbery in Singh’s death as part of a deal with prosecutors. He got two sentences of five years to life, to be served consecutively. Though the teenager's case moved through the adult court system, he will be held in the juvenile detention system until he turns 21, then get a parole hearing to determine his sentence in the adult system. In the last five years, the FBI was mostly in the news for the checkered careers of James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Robert Mueller, Lisa Page, and Peter Strzok. Add in the criminality of convicted FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith. The colossal FBI-driven "Russian collusion" hoax was marked by the leaking of confidential FBI memos, forged documents, improper surveillance, and serial disinformation. Prior heads of the CIA and FBI, as well as the director of national intelligence, have at times either not told the truth under oath or claimed amnesia, without legal repercussions. Mention the military to conservative Americans these days, and they unfortunately associate its leadership with the disastrous flight from Afghanistan. Few, if any, high-ranking officers have yet taken responsibility - much less resigned - for the worst military fiasco of the last half-century. Instead, President Joe Biden and the top generals traded charges that the other was responsible for the calamity. Or both insisted the abject flight was a logistical masterpiece. Never in U.S. history have so many retired four-star admirals and generals disparaged their president with charges of being either a traitor, a liar, a fascist, or a virtual Nazi, as occurred during the last administration. Never has the proper advisory role of the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff been so brazenly usurped and contorted. Never has the secretary of defense promised he would ferret out alleged "white supremacists," without providing any evidence whatsoever of their supposedly ubiquitous presence and dangerous conspiracies. Conservatives have always been amused by the liberal biases of the old network news and big-city print media. But they grudgingly admitted that many liberal journalists of the last century were mostly professionals. News divisions mostly reported the news rather than simply made it up. Not so now with Big Tech and 21stt-century "woke" journalism. Few reporters have yet offered apologies for helping hatch and spread the Russian collusion hoax that paralyzed the country for three years. Few have admitted culpability for reporting as fact the various fantasies surrounding the Duke Lacrosse team's prosecution or the Covington Catholic kids deception. Many in the media ran uncritically with the Jussie Smollett concoction and the "hands-up-don't shoot" Ferguson distortions. Journalists promulgated misinformation about the "white Hispanic" George Zimmerman-Trayvon Martin encounter, and doctored photos and edited tapes. They invented the myth of the supposedly brilliant - but now utterly disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo - as well as the "Russian disinformation" yarn that allegedly accounted for the missing Hunter Biden laptop. Most recently, reporters spread serial untruths surrounding the Kyle Rittenhouse trial. For much of 2020 to even suggest that the Wuhan Institute of Virology may have played a role in the birth and spread of the COVID-19 earned media derision. Few reporters suggested that federal health agencies such as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, the National Institutes of Health, and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases might be disseminating contradictory or even inaccurate information about the pandemic. To believe this was happening instead earned condemnation in the media as if one were some conspiracy theorist or nut. Rarely have communication industries - veritable utilities in the public domain - so asymmetrically censored speech and applied such one-sided standards of suppressing free expression. Conservatives used to oppose regulating larger corporations. Now, ironically, most are calling for regulating and breaking up multibillion-dollar social media monopolies and conglomerates that suppress as much as transmit private communications. The American criminal justice system also used to earn the respect of conservatives. Prosecuting attorneys, police chiefs, and big-city mayors were seen as custodians of the public order. They were entrusted to keep the peace, to prevent and investigate crime, and to arrest and prosecute criminals. Again, not so much now. After 120 days of mostly unchecked riot, arson, looting, and violent protests during the summer of 2020, the public lost confidence in their public safety agencies. District attorneys in several major cities - Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and St. Louis - have often predicated prosecuting crimes on the basis of ideology, race, and careerism. In the current crime wave, brazen lawbreakers enjoy de facto immunity. Mass looting goes unpunished. Indictments are often aimed as much against those who defend themselves as against criminals who attack the innocent. Conservatives now have lost their former traditional confidence in the administration of justice, in the intelligence and investigatory agencies, in the nation's military leadership, in the media, and the criminal justice system. No one yet knows what the effect will be of half the country losing faith in the very pillars of American civilization. |

An 8-year-old boy became the sixth person to die Tuesday as a result of a man driving his SUV into a suburban Milwaukee Christmas parade, with a criminal complaint alleging that the suspect in the case steered side-to-side with the intent of striking marchers and spectators.
Darrell Brooks Jr., 39, was charged with five counts of first-degree intentional homicide, a charge that carries a mandatory life sentence if convicted. He rocked back and forth in his seat and cried throughout his court hearing on Tuesday, his attorney’s arm on his back, as the charges against him were detailed. His bail was set at $5 million, and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for Jan. 14. “The nature of this offense is shocking," said Waukesha Court Commissioner Kevin Costello. Additional charges related to the sixth death and the more than 60 people injured will be coming later this week or next, said Waukesha County District Attorney Susan Opper. (Black) Kalamazoo-area man charged in July killing will face trial on murder charge
KALAMAZOO, MI — A man charged with open murder in a July fatal shooting in Kalamazoo will face a trial in Kalamazoo County.
Darrell Felton Jr. was bound over for trial by Circuit Judge Christopher T. Haenicke after a preliminary hearing Tuesday, Nov. 23. He faces the open murder charge in connection with the July 24 shooting homicide of Michael Underwood III, of Decatur.
Underwood’s girlfriend at the time of his death, Everlin Cano, testified Tuesday that she talked to Felton, her ex-husband, and told him she was going to come get the child of whom that they have shared custody.
Underwood was sitting in the vehicle’s passenger seat when they drove to Felton’s home, Cano said. Another woman, Electra Brown, who Cano described as Felton’s girlfriend, allegedly spit at Underwood. Underwood then said something to Felton, Cano said. “I think he said he was going to fight him if he didn’t get his girlfriend,” Cano said. Underwood opened his door, Cano testified, and then she heard a gunshot. She looked back and saw Felton holding a gun, she testified. Felton’s attorney, Brian Lennon, said he plans to bring forward a “robust self defense” as the case heads toward trial. Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Mike Reisterer responded during a discussion about whether or not the facts of self defense would be argued at the preliminary hearing. “In spite of this contention that this is a robust self defense, he shot a guy twice in the back,” Reisterer said. Gunshot wounds were the cause of Underwood’s death, Reisterer said, based on an autopsy report. After the hearing Tuesday, Haenicke ruled to bind the case over on for a trial in Kalamazoo County Circuit Court. Bond for Felton remains set at $500,000. |

A 4-year-old Pennsylvania boy is dead following a tragic accidental shooting, authorities say.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 27-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in Southwest Portland and charged with 14 crimes, including kidnapping, strangulation and rape.
According to the Portland Police Bureau, officers received a tip about a man with an outstanding arrest warrant near the corner of Southwest 3rd Avenue and Main Street. Police said they confirmed the warrant was valid and arrested Darious Brumfield outside a tent in the area. PPB said Brumfield’s warrant comes from a six-year investigation into an “extraordinary number of violent, sexually motivated crimes” that happened between 2015 and 2021. Brumfield was charged with: Two counts of first-degree kidnapping, Strangulation, First-degree rape, Two counts of first-degree sodomy, Two counts of coercion, Two counts of first-degree sex abuse, Two counts of robbery, Unlawful use of a weapon, Unlawful possession of a firearm The bureau said it has released Brumfield’s photo because detectives believe there could be additional victims |

An Ohio kidnap and assault suspect was arrested over the weekend after his attempt to escape out of a hotel window failed when he bounced off the reinforced glass as police officers were speaking with him.
The Blue Ash Police Department said officers responded to the Quality Hotel Conference Center Cincinnati Blue Ash when a front desk attendant requested a welfare check. She said she noticed a man and woman together and that the female discreetly asked for help.
"She stated she noticed a male and female and that the female looked unwell. She stated she was discreetly able to ask the female if she was okay and the female used body language to indicate that something was wrong," a police press release said, according to Cincinnati.com. Authorities said the man, identified as Onjre Damon George, 20, assaulted the woman Sunday morning. Police Chief Scott Noel told reporters that George and the victim know each other and had a relationship at one time. At one point, he allegedly refused to let her leave the Quality Hotel Conference Center Cincinnati Blue Ash they were staying at, Noel said. When officers responded to the hotel, they separated the couple and were talking with George about why they were there. At one point, the officer grabs George by the arms and says "don't tense up man," according to police body-camera footage. Moments later, George makes a run for the window of his sixth-floor hotel room but bounces off the glass when he tries to jump out. "Where are you going?" the officer asks. "I'm about to jump. Don't tase me," George is heard saying before he is placed in handcuffs. According to court documents obtained by Cincinnati.com, George choked the woman until she was unconscious. He is charged with forcible rape, kidnap to engage in sexual activity and assault. He is being held in the Hamilton County jail on a $205,000 bond, according to jail records. PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 41-year-old man was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Nov. 9 after he pleaded guilty to multiple charges of child sex abuse.
According to the Washington County District Attorney’s office, the case started more than two years prior, on Oct. 10, 2019, when Arturo Diaz-Guzman approached a 12-year-old girl after seeing her alone near the communal trash area of a Hillsboro apartment complex.
Diaz-Guzman told the girl she looked beautiful and he asked her for a hug, prosecutors said. She refused and tried to run away, and Diaz-Guzman then grabbed her from behind, pulling her to a secluded area, the DA’s office said. The girl escaped, ran home and called 911 right away, officials said. Hillsboro police then responded and identified Diaz-Guzman as the suspect. During an investigation, four more victims came forward with allegations of sexual abuse, authorities said. In total, Diaz-Guzman pleaded guilty to first-degree rape, first-degree attempted sexual abuse and three counts of first-degree sexual abuse. He was ordered to register as a sex offender in Washington County. Judge Erik Buchér sentenced him to 15 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release. Vast numbers of people have been deceived by a corrupt medical establishment and a corrupt media into acts of suicide and serious health injury. Yet, the coercive campaign to vaccinate continues.
