NC couple wanted in connection with beating of elderly (White)
couples arrested in Myrtle Beach      MYRTLE
BEACH, N.C. (WFMY) — “Rest easy tonight.” Those are the words
Randolph County Sheriff Robert Graves gave his community after Jeremy
Hayes and his girlfriend Kennedy Boggs were taken into
custody in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on Tuesday night. Hayes is
wanted in connection with several robberies and assaults, including
assaults on two Triad elderly couples. The first attack happened
last week at a home on Ingram Drive in Asheboro. An elderly couple
was attacked in their home after opening their door to a man
claiming to be with the water department. Hayes is believed to have
attacked the couple who are both in
their 80s. Emergency crews treated the couple for
various injuries. Investigators believe Hayes’ girlfriend,
Kennedy Boggs, is related to the victims.Sunday, Graves confirmed they believed Hayes attacked again. This time it was a person working at a rest stop in Seagrove. The 21-year-old victim was robbed and beaten so badly that he needed 35 stitches and 42 staples. Deputies say they think he committed another assault and robbery Saturday night of an elderly couple on the 5000 block of Old Randleman Road in Guilford County. McInnis said his grandparents received multiple stitches and staples for their injuries. His grandfather’s nose is broken and both of the victims are badly bruised. 20-year-old Duluth man was asleep in his bed early Saturday when an
intruder looking for a place to rest stabbed him more than a dozen
times in order to prevent him from calling police, according to
charges filed Tuesday.Willie Davis Nicholson, 23, was arraigned on felony charges of attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and first-degree burglary in an incident the prosecutor called an “unprovoked, vicious assault on a complete stranger.” Nicholson allegedly admitted to police that he entered an apartment on the 4700 block of Grand Avenue shortly before 7 a.m. and stabbed the victim, Benjamin VanDell, up to 15 times. VanDell suffered serious, but not life-threatening, wounds to his head, torso, back and hands. Nicholson allegedly admitted that he entered the residence looking for a place to sleep. Discovering VanDell in bed and hearing a phone ring, Nicholson told police he attacked the victim, with an intent to kill, out of fear of being caught, according to a criminal complaint. - (Black-on-white) |

Valley woman shot by (black) husband three times shares survival
story  LAS
VEGAS (FOX5) - A valley woman who was shot three times at the hands
of her husband said he was thought she was cheating on him. “Oh, I
felt my teeth break,” domestic violence survivor Shawneda
Pennington said. “When the revolver hit my mouth, I
felt my teeth break.” Police said Pennington was shot multiple times
by her husband James Bumpus. He also shot
her 15-year-old daughter. The shooting happened
Saturday morning inside the couple’s condominium near Eastern and
Silverado Ranch. “Under his hand he had a .22 revolver, I knew what
it was because we had it in the gun safe,” Pennington said.
Pennington said her husband fired that revolver and shot her in the
mouth, neck and stomach. Bumpus then turned the gun on his
15-year-old step daughter, according to police. She was shot in the
chin and chest. “She’s in intensive care,” Pennington said Monday.
Bumpus was charged with two counts of attempted murder. Pennington
and her husband Bumpus have been together for eight years and
married for about a year and a half. Pennington said the abuse
started three years ago. “This time he thought I was cheating on
him,” Pennington said. “Any time I would go anywhere, be gone for
more than 15 minutes he would go through my phone [because] 'I was
cheating.'” The night before the shooting, Pennington said Bumpus
showed up at her condominium and threatened to kill her. “I called

NJ Man Used Cash From Slaying (of elderly Latina) to Take Ex on
Date: Prosecutor  A
New Jersey prosecutor is alleging that a man accused of robbing,
beating and stabbing an elderly woman to death two years ago used
proceeds from the crime to woo his ex-girlfriend.Nj.com reports that Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor David Feldman said in his closing argument Tuesday that 50-year-old Jeffrey Harley committed the crimes on the same day his ex-girlfriend posted a photo of herself online with her new boyfriend. Feldman said Harley then used proceeds of the February 2016 crime that cost the life of 81-year-old Lucinda Cardenas Viejo to take his ex-girlfriend out on the town. Defense attorney Jonathan Gordon argued that his client had money and a job, wasn't linked to the crime by DNA, and there was no evidence that he knew the victim had money. |

5-year-old girl burned in voodoo ritual; 2 (black female voodoo

Massachusetts women are facing multiple charges after they allegedly
tied down and burned a 5-year-old girl
in a voodoo ritual. The girl, whose name has not been released,
is permanently disfigured as a result of a ritual that was meant to
“rid her of a demon that was making her misbehave,” the Brockton
Enterprise reported. The two East Bridgewater women, identified as Peggy
LaBossiere, 51, and Rachel Hilaire, 40, allegedly blew fire
over the young girl’s face and cut her arm and collar area with a
needlelike object, drawing blood, the girl’s 8-year-old brother told
police. The women, who are sisters, according to the Brockton
Enterprise, also allegedly poured a substance over the girl’s eyes
which caused them to sting. Additionally, the women allegedly
threatened to cut off the younb brother's head with a machete. |

Gunman suspected in 2016 rape, robbery of UA student now ID'd,
in custody  The
gunman believed to have raped a then-19-year-old University of
Alabama student in her townhome on the weekend of the 2016 Iron Bowl
has now been identified and is in custody.Colby Dewayne Daniel Lewis, 19, was taken into custody in Demopolis where he lives, said Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit Capt. Kip Hart. Over the past two days, Hart said, investigators have followed new information which led to the warrants against Lewis. He is now charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree rape and first degree sodomy. His bonds total $120,000. |

innocent woman who was shot Friday moments after she walked out of a
Queens subway station is the daughter of an NYPD transit cop, police
sources said Monday. Jaivon Mitchner,
28, was blasted in her stomach at around 6:55 a.m. at First Avenue
and 10th Street in Long Island City just after exiting the 21st
Street-Queensbridge F-train station, cops said. Cops say Mitchner
was not the intended target – and that the bullet was apparently
meant for a 19-year-old woman who the shooter, Jamal “Snooze”
Brown, was having a dispute with, authorities said. |

woman in the backseat has turned herself in, authorities said.
Khadija Hamilton, 27, was with her attorney when she

County Prosecutor's Office. Authorities had been searching for
the driver of a Honda Accord after it smashed into a guardrail early
Saturday morning in Jersey City. Responding officers discovered the
body of 24-year-old Khalla Nguyen
in the backseat of the smashed vehicle. The driver, however, was

cops  The
NYPD’s Force Investigation Division is looking into how a Bronx man
died just moments after he tried grabbing a gun from a responding
cop during a brief run-in with authorities, police said. Dwayne Pritchett’s 71-year-old father called police after his son began acting erratically and locked himself in his bedroom. When police arrived and approached Pritchett’s room, the 48-year-old man opened the door and officers saw that he had crack cocaine, heroin, drug paraphernalia and a .40-caliber handgun magazine on the floor. The officers entered the room and began to handcuff Pritchett — who sources say had a lengthy rap sheet. Pritchett was reportedly sweating profusely when he tried to pull the cop’s gun from its holster. |

ROME — A man draped in Italy’s tricolor flag wounded at least six
“people of color” in a drive-by shooting in a central Italian city
on Saturday before being detained, authorities said. The suspect had
been a candidate for the anti-immigrant Northern League party in
municipal elections last year, according to a party spokeswoman.The suspect’s motive in the shootings in Macerata was not known, but a young Italian woman was gruesomely murdered in the city this past week, allegedly by a Nigerian immigrant, prompting a wave of anger in a nation where many were already seeking to reduce the entry of migrants. Local news outlets said that the man was detained after he stepped out of his black Alfa Romeo 147 near the memorial, gave a fascist salute, and shouted “Italy for the Italians.” It was not clear whether the victims were Italian citizens. A police spokesman said that 28-year-old Luca Traini was detained near Macerata’s central war memorial early Saturday afternoon. Colo. (CBS4)– The man accused of gunning down and killing an Adams
County Sheriff’s deputy last week appeared in court on Wednesday
morning. Adams County Sheriff’s Deputy
Heath Gumm was shot and killed near 88th Avenue and
Washington Street in Thornton on Jan. 24 while responding to an
assault. Authorities arrested Dreion Dearing, 22, after the
shooting. On Wednesday, he was formally charged with first-degree
murder in the shooting and killing of Gumm.

partner'    PRINCETON
— A Mercer County man was awaiting a bond hearing Friday before a
circuit court judge after being charged with first-degree murder in
the death of a Princeton woman whose body was found on Christmas
Day. Roger Lee Lemons Jr., 46, of Princeton was being held at
the Southern Regional Jail in Beaver when he was arrested, Detective
C.C. Butler of the Princeton Police Department said. Lemons has been
at the regional jail since Dec. 26, 2017 after being arrested and
charged with violating a domestic violence petition. Lemons has been
charged with first-degree murder in the death of Angela
Seal, 33, whose body was found Christmas Day when a
family member went to her apartment at 415 Mercer Street to check on
her. Butler could not discuss the cause of death, but said that the
State Medical Examiner’s Office had determined that it was a
homicide. Lemons and Seal knew each other, Butler said. “They
had been "dating" a little over a month prior to the
incident,” Butler stated. “She had gotten a domestic violence
petition against him and we had to remove him from the apartment.”

homeless man who posed as an “Avenger” when cops arrested him for
robbing a bank while wielding a crossbow has been charged by
Manhattan federal prosecutors, it was announced on Friday. David
Hylton, 33, made off with over $7,210 after robbing a Bank of
America located on White Plains Road in the Bronx on Thursday.
Hylton went into the bank around 10:20 in the morning and approached
a teller holding a stack of cash and told her to “Give me the
money,” which he grabbed and made off with, according to a criminal
complaint. Hylton was arrested later that day near a pizzeria where
he had allegedly been flaunting the stolen dough. |

County fugitive on the lam for 14 years was captured this week in
Jamaica — where he was spinning records under the stage name DJ

Wednesday. Davey Scott allegedly sold 25 pounds of marijuana
to an undercover cop in 2001 and then struck a Bergen County
Prosecutor’s Office detective with his car as he fled the scene.
Scott, 48, missed a 2004 bail hearing and flew off to Kingston where
he became part of a four-person music group called Di Unit,

FDNY firefighter was hired after the MTA booted him for fraud — and
now faces charges he punched a woman, The Post has learned. Clyde
Phillips, 36, was busted Jan. 18 on multiple misdemeanor

Duane Reade. He punched his ex-girlfriend in her face, charges a

A heart-stopping assault at a Southern California nail salon was
caught on video, showing women throwing chairs at their attacker in
a "fight for their life," according to police. At 10 a.m. local time
Wednesday, a man went into a Los Angeles salon and "began hitting
three women inside for no reason," the Los Angeles Police Department
said in a news release. The video shows the man hitting and punching
one victim before another woman smacks him with a chair. The
suspect, 25-year-old Gustavo Aranda, was determined
to be responsible for a carjacking that occurred less than two hours
before the nail salon attack, police said. |

LONDON — A man who drove a van into worshipers near a London mosque,
killing one man and injuring a dozen others, was sentenced on Friday
to at least 43 years in prison for what a judge said was the result
of “malevolent hatred.” Judge Bobbie Cheema-Grubb said that
mind of the driver, Darren Osborne, had been “poisoned” by
far-right ideas before the June 2017 attack and that he had shown no
signs of remorse. “Your mind-set became one of malevolent hatred,”
Judge Cheema-Grubb said. “This was a terrorist attack. You intended
to kill.” She sentenced Mr. Osborne, 48, to life with no chance of
parole for 43 years, saying “the court has seen no evidence that the
danger you present has lessened.” Judge Cheema-Grubb praised Mohammed
Mahmoud, the imam of the local mosque, for intervening
to prevent the crowd from attacking him.The police said his radicalization began when he watched a television program, based on real events, about Pakistani men sexually exploiting young women in northern England. |

A woman claims she was violently raped by her boss at a Japanese
nightclub, and that club owners knew the manager was dangerous,
according to court papers. The victim, a hostess at the Midtown East
nightspot Club Usagi, says in a $10 million lawsuit she was attacked
after hours by her allegedly drunken supervisor, Hazumu
Suzuki. Suzuki asked the woman to stay behind after a
January 2017 shift to discuss work, but instead of talking, he
allegedly threw her to the floor, “tore her tights and pulled down
her underwear” before raping her, she claims in a Manhattan Supreme
Court lawsuit. Suzuki has not been arrested. The incident is
under investigation, police said. |

3-D modeled image of the suspect was released on the eve of the 10th
anniversary of the slayings on purpose, because he knows people have

suspect Police
are looking for a sexual battery suspect after police say he
assaulted a 19-year-old while she was in the library. According to
Decatur police, the victim was in the Decatur library on Sycamore
Street on Jan. 19 around 12:40 p.m. when the suspect approached her
as she was walking into the restroom. She told police, the man told
her that they went to elementary school together and said he needed
to talk to her about a private matter. She followed him into a
stairway. "The suspect began to ask questions and make statements of
a sexual nature, then he exposed himself," police stated. The victim
told police she turned away but then he grabbed her buttocks, kissed
her on the cheek and then on her mouth. The suspect is described as
a black male who was about 20 years old with a dark complexion.

who got violent on flight from Dallas  A
passenger on an American Airlines flight from DFW International
Airport to North Carolina was restrained with zip ties and duct tape
Wednesday morning after authorities say she became violent. Flight
1033 was approaching Charlotte Douglas International Airport when
36-year-old Charlene Sarieann Harriott, who was seated at
the back of the plane, ran toward the cockpit, according to a
criminal complaint. Flight attendants chased after Harriott when she
refused to stop, eventually restraining her in the first-class
section with zip ties and duct tape as the plane touched down. |

assigned her an attorney. Cushman and Edward Shaw are both
accused in the case. Shaw is charged with second-degree murder. He
has a bond hearing on Friday. This is a complicated case,
with many unanswered questions. 50-year-old Caroline
Hendrix was shot in a car on New Year's Eve in
Norfolk. When Shaw was first arrested, he also had a gunshot

N.C. - A jaw-dropping violent robbery was caught on surveillance
video inside a Lowell convenience store over the weekend and police
are still looking for the suspect. A man brought his 4-year-old
nephew to visit the boy's grandmother Sunday night at the
Lowell Mini Mart on McAdenville Road where the woman works as a
clerk. The man, who didn’t want to show his bloody face on camera,
told Channel 9 that seconds before the attack, he looked into the
robber’s eyes and felt something was wrong. “As soon as he walked
in, I had an eerie feeling about the whole thing,” the victim said.
The surveillance video shows the robber put the man in a chokehold
and point the gun at the clerk while the 4-year-old boy watched,
clutching a drink. Police said the gun may have been a pellet gun,
but it seemed real when the suspect pistol-whipped the man in the
head. The clerk, who also didn’t want to be identified, said the
robber targeted the 4-year-old. “He aimed the gun at my grandson and
said he would kill him,” the clerk said. The clerk grabbed her
grandson and put herself between the child and the gunman. The
gunman rushed her and hit her on the head. She said she told her
grandson to run. “He had no remorse, no concern for anyone,

cheer program, is being sued by a former cheerleader. The now
20-year-old says he was drugged and (homo) sexually assaulted by an
assistant coach. “Living in fear is… probably the hardest part,” he
said. “Just the images, the memories, you can never shake them.”He enrolled at Navarro College in 2015 hoping to win a national cheerleading championship. He and his family met Andre McGee the very first day. “Everybody said, ‘Oh you’re one of the new cheerleaders. Andre takes great care of you boys,'” said the cheerleader’s mother. “All campus police, the man who was in charge of the dorms, they all knew Andre.” In his civil lawsuit against McGee and Navarro College, he says McGee would “slap and hit male cheerleaders” and make them “drop their pants at his command.” He claims McGee had hundreds of nude photographs of the cheerleaders and would force the rookies to “drink and/or consume drugs,” calling it “big girl games.” According to the suit, in October 2015 McGee forced the alleged victim to take Xanax. He says he later “awoke to McGee sodomizing him.” He says he stayed quiet about the alleged assault because he still dreamed of winning a championship. But three months later he called police. CBS11 obtained the police report, which shows a second cheerleader making similar claims. That cheerleader did not want to talk on the record for this story, but attorneys for the first cheerleader believe others will come forward. “We have spoken to other victims in this case,” said Lacey Turley Most. “And we’ve heard from other cheerleaders that there were other victims.” |

4-month-old puppy so badly that he broke multiple bones. Lemontrae

According to police reports, Bible was charged as part of an
investigation into animal abuse where a 4-month-old puppy was beaten
severely. Bible's girlfriend, Holly Brand, says he
started hurting the puppy shortly after she got it for her daughter.
"He had pistol whipped her and actually had a broken tooth," said
Brand. She says the abuse started after the puppy had an accident in
their home. Halsey was so
abused that she suffered extensive jaw and head fractures, broken
bones and had to have a tube inserted so that she could get

received lethal injection for beating, stabbing and strangling
44-year-old Carol Lynn Thomas Hall.Hall's body was found about 300 feet inside a drainage pipe behind her home in South Dallas' Oak Cliff area. Hall's 11-year-old son, Benjamin, also was stabbed in the attack but survived. He testified against Rayford. Asked by the warden at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Huntsville Unit if he had a final statement, Rayford apologized repeatedly to his victim's four children who watched through a window a few feet from him. "Carol didn't deserve what I done," he said. "Please try to find it in your heart to forgive me. I am sorry. It has bothered me for a long time what I have done." |

N.C. (WNCN) — A Raleigh teenager is facing multiple sex crime
charges that involve a child who was 4 years old when the first
crime was committed, according to a Wake County Magistrate’s
Order. Randolph Takay, 18, of the 2000 block of Hodges
Creek Drive, is facing three felony counts of indecent liberties
with a child for crimes that documents show occurred beginning March
1, 2017 and lasting until Jan. 23, the day before he was arrested.
Court documents show Takay “willfully and feloniously did commit and
attempt to commit a lewd and lascivious act upon the body” of the
child. The victim was 4 years oldwhen
the first crime is said to have occurred. Takay was 17. The child is
now 5. |

– Houston Police and Houston Crime Stoppers have released a sketch
of a man who raped a woman in an alleyway at a north side apartment
complex. According to HPD, the crime happened shortly before 5 a.m.
Nov. 5, 2017 at an apartment complex. The victim told police
the suspect grabbed her by the arm and forced her into the dark
alley between the apartment building and a fence. “The suspect then
raped and viciously beat the victim. The suspect fled the scene on
foot in an unknown direction. A forensic sketch artist composed a
drawing of the suspect,” stated a press release from authorities. The
suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’07” with

Heights, was arrested by police in Hayward after offering a student

Eden High and offered private basketball lessons through his

HAVEN, Fla. (CBS12) — A woman was punched and robbed in broad
daylight while at a park with her child, police say. According to
Winter Haven Police, a woman was at Kiwanis Park with her toddler

park. The woman told officers she felt uneasy, so she grabbed her
child and headed to her car. According to a news release, one
of the robbers came up to the victims and said, "give me your money
or I'll shoot!" The man then punched the woman in the face, and she
fell to the ground while holding the child.One of the men punched the woman again and took off with her purse, according to police. The child was not injured. Two days later, police arrested 19-year-old Marques Haines for the crime. "This guy thinks he's a big man to attack a vulnerable mother holding a small child in a park," said Chief Charlie Bird. mother said Johnson is her daughter’s ex-boyfriend and the
father of her child. Johnson treated her daughter like a

Auto Repair Shop Employee Critically Injured After Getting Shot

(CBS) — An auto repair shop employee is fighting for his life after
getting shot during a robbery on Friday. Philadelphia police say two

say when the employee fought with the suspects to get away, he was

who said Patrick Brown pulled a knife on her, made her
expose herself, and tried to rape her with the knife at her throat,
a spokesman said. She told deputies he choked her, pinned her to the
ground, and hit her in the back of the head with something, a
spokesman said. She was able to get away, but had lacerations on her
neck and hand, the spokesman said. The child described Brown
as a family acquaintance. |

(Execution of Alabama (black) inmate with dementia called off for the night  MONTGOMERY,
Ala. -- The U.S. Supreme Court has delayed the execution of an
Alabama inmate with dementia who lawyers say can't remember slaying
a police officer. The decision came about two hours after Vernon
Madison, 67, had been scheduled to be executed by lethal
injection for the 1985 killing. Alabama prison system spokesman Bob
Horton says the Alabama attorney general's office told him the
execution will not go forward Thursday evening because of the stay.Madison was sentenced to death for the 1985 killing of Mobile Police Cpl. Julius Schulte. Schulte, a 22-year veteran of the police force, had responded to a report of a missing child placed by Madison's then-girlfriend. Prosecutors said Madison crept up and shot Schulte in the back of the head as he sat in his police car. |

This cop’s an accused robber. An NYPD officer fired his service
revolver in a bizarre May 2016 hold-up where the victim was forced
to surrender his clothes, cash and cell phone, the Brooklyn district
attorney charged Wednesday. Officer Anthony Delacruz, in an
attempt to cover up his crime, then accused four innocent people of
robbing him at gunpoint in the middle of the night, authorities
charged. Delacruz, 34, was released on $100,000 bail after a
Wednesday hearing where prosecutors said DNA from the robbery victim
was found on the officer’s gun — and the theft’s incriminating
aftermath captured on security video. |

Pensacola man convicted of spending more than $20K of blind,
elderly victim's money A
Pensacola man faces up to 30 years in state prison after a jury
convicted him of exploiting a blind, elderly victim. An Escambia
County jury on Tuesday convicted John Louis Wages, 45, of
illegal use of criminal identification information against a victim
over 60 years of age and exploitation of the elderly, according to a
release from Attorney General Pam Bondi's office. The victim was
deemed legally blind and suffered from hearing loss and was moved
into Wages' home for assistance with daily activities and finances,
according to the Attorney General's office release. |

A man is accused of kidnapping a woman and leaving her naked miles
from her residence after stabbing and beating her. DeKalb
County police said that Derwin Johnson, 23, took the woman
from a Memorial Drive Budget Inn on Wednesday night. The victim’s
child was left inside the hotel room during the attack. A
woman found the 23-year-old mother walking naked in Newton County an
hour after the assault. “She did not know where she was
at.” “She had no clue where she was. She came out of the woods
with no clothes on.” Authorities said the woman knew
Johnson, but did not specify the nature of their
relationship. |

Mayor
de Blasio ducked a fusillade of questions Tuesday about a
major donor who pleaded guilty to trying to bribe him during a
press conference he called to discuss NYPD body cameras.
“Everything we did on that matter and everything else we’ve done
in this administration was legal, was appropriate,” the mayor
said at the 79th Precinct in Brooklyn. “I really have nothing
else to say.” De Blasio fielded eight questions about
restaurateur Harendra Singh’s plea and about how
top mayoral aides became involved in negotiations about a lease
renewal for Singh’s restaurant in Queens, which was on
city-owned land. Singh, who helped direct $27,000 in campaign
contributions to de Blasio’s 2013 campaign, pleaded guilty in
October 2016 to making large donations to get a better deal from
the city.
Manuel
Alejandro Gamboa, a 35-year-old former substitute
teacher at Dekaney High School in Harris County, appeared in
court Friday after his arrest Wednesday on charges of improper
relationship with a student and sexual assault.
